I just returned from a long weekend in Quebec - taking two classes with different instructors at different locations at Namaste studios. I do not speak French but found each studio to be welcoming. Each instructor was excellent with a nice flow to each class - moderate difficulty level. read more

While on vacation in Quebec, I was looking for a welcoming yoga studio to practice, where I could scratch the itch for both exercise and relaxation. Namaste Yoga is where I found it. I don't speak French but was received with a friendly welcome, and was able to follow along thanks to the instructor's demoes throughout class. The sequence he put together (Bernard) was thoughtful and approachable by students of all levels. The studio itself is bright and open, and facilitates a good feeling of community. The citrus water is a great touch. I'd practice here regularly if I lived here and hope to go back during this trip. read more

Meet the Manager: David Bonneville D.

David a été initié à l'activité physique dès son plus jeune âge. Il s'est consacré à la gymnastique pendant plus de 12 années au cours desquelles il s'est illustré parmi les meilleurs au Canada. Après sa vie d'athlète, David a entrepris une carrière professionnelle dans les arts du cirque où il a performé pendant près de 15 années aux quatre coins du monde aux côtés des diverses compagnies de cirque et artistique tel que le Cirque du Soleil et ExMachina. Conjointement à sa carrière d'artiste, il a poursuivi ses formations académiques en Psychologie et en santé mentale. David s'est d'abord tourné vers la méthode Pilates. Depuis 2012, il enseigne le Pilates à diverses équipes sportives et artistes de cirque. Il a fondé le Studio en septembre 2014. Il s'est alors formé comme professeur de Yin Yoga et de Hatha Yoga. I found and tried this gym when I first moved to Quebec about 10 months ago... I signed up for a…read morethree month period before signing a longer contract. I wanted a personal trainer so all in all i paid $700 for 3 months. During those three months I discovered that their trainers are sweet but not effective at all! There are some true gems like Nadia and Caroline but for the most part the trainers are less than motivational and seemed bored. Among other indicators, i know this because I worked with 6 different trainers and during my one-on-ones I often made some intentional errors in my stance/position, things that are obvious "no-nos" and the trainers said nothing at all. In addition trying to get an appointment with one of the good trainers is impossible (and i understand, everyone chooses them!) This gym has a lot of services packed in this small space... They get one of their stars for the options available to their clientele and for the group classes they offer (Tabata class with Nadia was a favourite); the other star goes to some of the wonderful ladies that work there. We all have our own personal fitness goals, but going to the gym takes energy, motivation and self discipline. So when we get there, we deserve knowledgable, experienced and professional help. After 3 months of training i saw no real results. At the end of the day my personal physical results are my responsibility and I can't blame a gym or trainer for that; but if you're going to spend your hard earned dollars somewhere, look for another place.
