Dr. Nakamura is absolutely the best. I was terrified of dentists my entire life, because of many bad experiences as a child with a dentist that didn't believe in pain control. I avoided going to a dentist for decades after i grew up. I had bad teeth from the beginning with thin enamel, and had many broken and lost teeth over the years. I recently got an abcess and my wife convinced me to see Dr. Nakamura, who has been her dentist for many years. It has been a revelation. He is such a kind, thoughful, careful person and completely painless. He explains everything and never seems rushed. My wonderful dentist retired under sad circumstances and I did not care for the work done by his son, who took over the practice. Finding a new dentist is not easy for me because of difficulty getting numb, unusual sensitivities to dental pain and noise, and a long history of terrible experiences with dentists. After some research, I decided to try Dr. Courtney Yoshikawa, who works with Dr. Nakamura. I could not be happier. Dr. Yoshikawa is highly skilled and professional. She is honest, respectful, exercises good judgment and is very accommodating to individual differences. She replaced a crown, did a minor repair on a tooth, and cleaned my teeth without causing any discomfort. It was actually a pleasant experience and I look forward to my next visit. read more

I am both hesitant and excited to write this review. I know Dr. Yoshikawa and Dr. Nakamura deserve all the praise in the world, but I fear that once more people find out about this wonderful office, appointments are going to be harder to come by. Oh well, no good deed goes unpunished ;) I have been terrified of the dentist my whole 22 years of existence. I have had horrible problems with my teeth due to the major unevenness of my bite for as long as I can remember. I have had root canals, crowns, fillings, extractions, etc. You name it, I have had to suffer through it. And through all of these practices, serviced by over 10 different dentists, I have never felt comfortable being in that chair. I dreaded the dentist, even to the point of putting off routine checkups for years. But as things got worse with the latest dentist (claiming extractions and expensive crowns were the only possible options left for me) I decided I had to find someone, ANYONE better. My stepmom told me about Dr. Nakamura's office and how wonderful they were in taking care of her mother. And I knew right then and there that if these people could warrant rave reviews out of my step-grandmother, they had to be amazing. Hesitantly I made the call, and in 5 minutes I had my first appointment scheduled on a Saturday. (This is perfect for full-time workers who cannot necessarily take the time off work to make it to a weekday appointment.) When I got there, I was nervous as usual. But as soon as I sat down, took a deep breath and looked up at my doctor, I knew things were going to get easier from here. My doctor is Dr. Yoshikawa and she is the BEST. I literally mean amazing! From the beginning she explained every nuance of what needed to be done and how we should approach it. She took extra time to make sure I understood EVERYTHING and that I felt completely comfortable with every procedure. She took x-rays and digital images and actually showed me the problem areas while breaking it down in laymen terms as to how she would fix them. All I can say is that after that first visit I was actually excited about going back. I have been back about 5 or 6 times now and every time gets easier and makes me appreciate this office so much more. Also, those problems that "could only be fixed through extractions and crowns" were mere fillings that just needed extra care in handling. As of now, I am officially all taken care of and back on the path of only needing routine checkups. I can honestly say I have found the "diamond in the ruff" when it comes to dental offices. read more

Dr. Nakamura has been my dentist for many years. This past Labor Day weekend, I came down with a very bad toothache, the kind where your neck and entire face hurt and you just want to be put out of your misery. I called the office on Monday Holiday to leave a message to get an urgent appt for the next day. Low and behold, Dr. Nakamura was in the office doing paper work on the holiday and picked up the phone. I told him my problem and he said "why wait til tomorrow, can you come now." When I got to the office, he cared for me by himself, without any support staff. Due to all my nerves firing, it took an hour of testing to determine the problem tooth and at that point a root canal was recommended. Dr. N did the work in the very same session. My total visit time was 2 hours ON A HOLIDAY! Three days later and my tooth is perfect and I feel like I can tackle the world again. Over the years Dr. Nakamura has provided me incredible service. In my twenties He extracted my wisdom teeth versus sending me to an oral surgeon. He used bands and hooks to straighten one tooth when I was in my teens which saved my single mother the expense of having to get me braces. His bedside manner is beyond reproach and he has the most integrity of anyone I've ever met. He is truly my hero. read more

Ive called and called to get my records with nothing but voice mails never an answer yet it says open extremely unprofessional to never answer the phone or get back to a client I went one time.
