Me and my daughter went to this shop, in the hope of finding a prom dress…read more She tried on a red dress, and the shop assistants were adamant that was the one she should get, although it stuck out at the back, as i stated. The owner of the shop, a short haired, middle aged woman wearing glasses, then proceeded to shout at me, stating 'It's not your prom! Your an old woman!' The dress itself was £300 and i was by no means rude, but simple stating my opinion that i didn't like how the dress was hanging at the back. The woman then went on to say I was being 'Rude and slating the stock.' When i told her she shouldn't be offended by an opinion, she went on to yell at my daughter to 'TAKE OFF THAT DRESS NOW!' and said 'I WILL NOT SELL THAT TO YOU.' She also said ' I AM PISSED OFF.' (Infront of my 11 year old daughter, who was very shocked) and said 'YOU PICKED THE WRONG DAY TO PISS ME ABOUT!' While we were there, a young girl came in for the second time and to view her dress, and the disorganised woman told her to 'come back next saturday' when it would be there. She'd been waiting two weeks extra already, and her mother didn't look best pleased, but as she'd placed a deposit, it was too late. Another young boy came in looking for a suit, but was turned away aswell. Overall, the shop owner was extremely rude to both myself and my daughter, as well as to her other staff. She was very unprofessional, and if she thinks that is how to get customers, she is very much mistaken. I was appalled at how we were treated and looked down on for mearly stating a fact/opinion in a shop where apparently, you had to adore every single dress tried on. My daughter was also obviously upset about the incident, especially when she was screamed at to 'take the dress off now!' All in all, i wouldn't recommend anyone going to this shop in the search for either a wedding garment or prom dress, it's not worth the hassle.

I am getting married next year, so have been around a few of the bridalwear shops in the area (not…read morethat there are very many in Cambridge city to begin with!). This was the first place I tried - and it was by far the best! You do have to book in advance if you want to try on wedding dresses as it gets very busy, especially on weekends. There's a room downstairs for private fittings, where (once you've made your appointment) you can try on dresses to your heart's content! The service is fantastic and the staff really professional and patient. If you tell them you have to stick to a budget they will try to accommodate you. The range of dress styles is amazing too. If like me, the blancmange doesn't do it for you, there are plenty of really classy, simple dresses in there - everything from fishtail to column dresses - you name it! Ironically I ended up buying the second dress I ever tried on - after then trying on endless other bridal dresses! The service is fantastic - there's no hard sell or any of that rather intimidating aura you sometimes get in these kinds of stores. I've recommended this shop to several of my friends.
