It is located east of the Food Center grocery store. This is a place where the locals eat. As you drive up in your rental car, they will totally know you're not a local. Do not be afraid and miss out where the locals eat. You will see a bunch of outdoor tables and a food truck that is now a non moving kitchen. There is a wooden staircase located at the back door of the truck. As you make your way up the stairs you will see a glass case with already cooked food. It will totally be hard to see the food past the steamy glass but the owner is brilliant. She uses a window squeegee to clean the steam off the windows. You will now have a totally clear view of all the food she has. It is typical Caribbean stewed meats like chicken, goat & fish. A plate of chicken with rice costs only $10. If you want goat or fish with rice it will set you back $12. You can also add on a Johnny Cake for just $1. Two sisters make all of the food and they have been in business for seven years which means that they are doing something right. So next time you find yourself on a winding road in St Thomas keep your eyes open and stay on the left side because these hidden culinary adventures exist everywhere. Everything doesn't have to be twenty bucks a plate and this place is a perfect example.

One day we were over at Coki Beach catching some rays and swimming while enjoying some drinks on the beach when we both got hungry. I said, "Let's go try Uncle Buddy's! It's literally 50 feet away." It's such a vibey little open aired space right on the water with beautiful views. The lady and her son who own the place were super friendly and welcoming. She had her son whip my gf up an amazing cocktail which we both shared and loved plus I had to enjoy a Presidente beer as well. When in Rome :) We ordered a platter that came with fried plantains, rice and beans, fried shrimp, and salad. We also ordered a fish sandwich. All of it was to die for! Excellent! We took it back to our airbnb and had it with some cooked vegetables - it was enough for two meals for each me and my mother, and this was $70 in total, so not a bad deal! If it puts things in perspective, I read online that Brooke's bar has the best food on the island. I tried Brooke's a couple days after I came here (also ordered snapper there) - genuinely I did not notice a difference between here and the food from Brooke's, it's all just tasty! And if anything, I actually preferred Vinny's because he had the food ready when he said it would be ready, whereas when we called Brooke's 2 hours early and they said the food would be ready, it was NOT. They were out of the beef patties and rice & peas because it was a busy cruise day, but he promised to save us some for the next day -- and he actually did! We came back the following day and sure enough, he had beef patties waiting for us. The oxtails were honestly some of the best I've ever had super flavorful and tender. The mac & cheese was amazing, and the beef patties were very filling. I ordered two and could barely finish one. The passion fruit juice was a little sweet for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. Bring plenty of cash (it's often cash-only or prefers it), and yeah, it can run a tad pricey for authentic Caribbean eats, but the payoff's huge: think phenomenal steamed red snapper, tender oxtail, creole chicken, and classic roti made with fresh, home-cooked love . The fun starts with the hunt itself out in the middle of nowhere vibes then bam, you're there, often with the place to yourself like we did late one night. Yacht Haven has all upscale restaurants - but there is no need to go to them. Walk across the street to BGBs and you will get better, fresher food. He makes everything fresh and you can taste the passion he has for cooking in his food. Had we discovered him sooner, we would have went to him everyday. If you visit st Thomas, this is a must visit.
