He is so easy to work with from Day 1 and he was the last thing for us to worry about in our wedding. I'm not exaggerating; he is so perfect that we did not have to direct him to do anything on the wedding day. He just did it, perfectly! He kindly met us on site and checked out the location months ahead of time and left us a binder of popular song selections to work with, FOR EVERY PART of the wedding ceremony you can think of (and he helped us to set our wedding timeline!) I requested a special Chinese song to dance with my mom. It's not even on YouTube and Marshall somehow found it!!! He was the first vendor who contacted us and reminded us of the day, and we had a conference call for 2 hours (on Fathers' Day weekend!) to finalize the music details! We planned to have an outdoor ceremony but then it rained and stormed so we had to move everything indoor. Marshall had it set up both ways professionally and directed the whole wedding smoothly. The whole city of Frankfort, KY blacked out for a few minutes RIGHT BEFORE I walked down the aisle and Marshall picked up what we'd left off and recovered everything as soon as the electricity went back on! He played so many great songs during the reception that our guests were amazed by what a fun-filled wedding we had! Marshall Yancey is a true friend, and the best DJ you can ever ask for on your special days. My fiance and I met with Marshal several times for 3 hours+, already a warning sign! 1. He has an inability to be succinct and to the point. His strength lies in relaying countless anecdotes that may or may not pertain to his clients. 2. We came to our meeting requesting a specific era in music, and he said he needed exact songs. After we did so, he proceeded to spend over and hour, along with his close colleague, ridiculing our music choice, and requesting that we dance in front of him to prove that in fact our music is danceable. We had no choice to switch our companies at that point, as our wedding was 2 days away! Needless to say, after we gave up and just requested 7 of our 20 songs as "must plays," our wedding guests spent the night requesting almost verbatim the songs that we had originally put on our list (without prompting from us). 3. If you are not a traditional couple, I highly suggest not using Yancey Entertainment. After we referred to our wedding as a wedding (since we do come from a state that recognizes gay marriage), Yancey on numerous occasions referred to it as a commitment ceremony. The kicker was when at the end of the night, we were given cds of our playlists labeled with our names and commitment ceremony on the cover. Marshall's company is best suited for straight couples, trying to entertain conservative multi-generational crowds, with a preference for top 40s hits! If you don't fit into these categories, don't bother.

We had Patrick Salyer for our DJ and he was absolutely terrible. Patrick got drunk at our wedding,…read morewhich he later denied despite vomiting at our reception multiple times. Patrick was polite when we met for our consultations. We gave him the order for our events, and we told him we had a video to show for the wedding. We sent him a very good playlist that we worked very hard on. Instead of coming to our wedding interested in making it a beautiful night to remember, Patrick made the reception one he would probably rather forget, and judging by how drunk he was I would say he already has. Patrick self-served himself alcohol. He later said he did not drink & was drugged, & didn't remember anything, an act we found to be rather cowardly. Patrick acted like a child when we asked him to move a speaker so we could show a video on the projector screen behind him. He actually said, "No". I asked him half a dozen times to turn the volume down. He would turn it to down, then immediately back up. My mother-in-law asked him just as many if not more times to turn it down. The father-in-law asked him multiple times to turn it down. Even the person in charge of the venue told him, and he blew her off even after she told him he was ruining our wedding. Our play list was barely even played. Patrick was more into the type of music he wanted to play. Finally I just started telling him to play them individually, because he was playing music that I told him I did not want him to play (rap songs). Patrick did manage to play the Cupid shuffle twice, despite that not even being on our list. Patrick completely screwed up the order of our events. My wife was almost in tears because he did not start with our first dance, but the bouquet toss song, when we went over this in our consultation, and he wrote it down: The first dance was to be before all of that. I told him after he started playing the music that the first dance was supposed to be at that point, and he just told me, "No." And I said, we want to do the dance now, and he said no again. Patrick repeatedly called my wife the wrong name, despite having been told otherwise. Patrick pretty much ruined every song he played with his pathetic attempt at mash-ups. People were leaving the reception early just to get out of the reception hall because it was so loud. At the end of the reception we only had about 40-50 people left, and Patrick wasn't playing anything we had asked him to play. I said, "Will you just play the Journey 'Don't Stop Believing Song' and then stop. That will be our last song." While Patrick was so drunk, he couldn't really even speak to me at this point. He just gave thumbs ups or thumbs downs, and rolled his head around. After that, he continued playing more music that was not on our music list. He started playing "Gin and Juice" the folk version. I told him, I do NOT want this to be the last song. You need to play a Frank Sinatra song then stop playing. He did that, then he started playing yet another song that was not on our list. This went on until 12:30, and by that time we were all just not paying any attention to him. It was embarrassing that he wouldn't listen to me. At the end, the reception hall crew told me we had to get a guest because he was vomiting. To no one's surprise it was Patrick, hovering over a trash can with vomit all over his face. We left him there. The next day they called and said he vomited numerous times and that they finally had to kick him out at 2:30 a.m. after they found him in the bathroom, with his head in the toilet and he was passed out. He then drove home, so he has gone from only ruining our reception to now endangering the lives of others and himself. The company did give our money back, and once again I believe Patrick is one bad apple that ruined the whole bunch. BUT DO NOT HIRE HIM. While the company maintained this was his first offense, I work in the field and have had other DJs (post my wedding) tell me that he does this often, and even if he doesn't get wasted is known for his multiple smoke break

This was one of the preferred vendors listed on our venues vendor list which we HAD to choose from…read more Bar services were limited. Communication was not timely from the get go, but when we heard back from Amy she was pleasant and typically answered questions. We were originally doing a cash bar. We booked everything for our October wedding in February. In April I emailed her asking about pricing on covering beer and wine. She replied and was getting back to me with information. I never heard back from her. As our wedding day approached I began following up with vendors including Professional Bar Service (PBS). This was in September. This is Ruth I finally received the requested information from April. I also indicated multiple times that I wanted bar service to begin 30 minutes before our ceremony. I was told a couple days before the wedding this would be fine. The venue approved it as well. Per my emails and contract with PBS they would begin at 6 and would stop serving 30 minutes before the end of event which was 11:30. I was told my contract time was through 11 pm because of this. Our day came and things were good until they weren't. PBS continued to tell our DJ they were closing up at 10:30 and were saying it was the venues rule basically giving us the runaround during our reception instead of us enjoying it. I personally spoke to them and told them I have a contract and emails from both the venue and PBS stating otherwise. I was told by one of the bartenders that they would call their boss. Never heard another word. At 10:28 my DJ said they weren't budging so let's do last call. We with 20 people in tow walk out to get one last drink. Most just beer and wine and the staff were rude and very unprofessional and started pulling bottles away saying they would not serve us anything but water. Come Monday following up with PBS, Amy admitted fault and apologized for being conveniently unavailable to handle the situation on Friday evening when her staff tried reaching her. We paid $3500 for the bar service which ended a half hour early and her staff embarrassed us in front of our guest. Most of our guest left right after the last call incident with her staff. In addition to loosing the last half hour of our service we paid the venue additional monies to extend our event an extra 30 mins. That was $165 which she offered to refund. We tried to reach back out and Amy responded once she wouldn't respond after that. We were NEVER refunded any money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
