literally the worst salon experience I've had. I usually go to my friends salon in Saint Peter's,…read morebut she was fully booked today so this was my last option and I guess this was my karma for cheating on my nail girl. I went in wanting a manicure and gel X on my real nail the man who fucked me up is a older man with some gray hairs on his beard and extremely dry hands. It felt like sandpaper, his nails were disgusting almost as bad as his service. for my manicure service that he gave me he cut down my cuticles and that was it then he kept nudging me to get dip powder. I said no because I was not getting acrylic nails and dip looks ugly on real nail, especially since I have very short nails since I am an aesthetician, I cannot have long nails at all. He kept nudging me so I said yes thinking that maybe I could be wrong since he is the professional I should listen to his advice. I chose a baby pink color he pulls out the dip powder and it is hot pink. He does a couple of layers on it and it looks disgustingly chunky I ask him if the color is going to lighten up he says yes mind you he is halfway done with the dip and it is still hot pink. He finishes and I say this isn't the color that I wanted he says what do you mean? I said this is too bright because it looked like I had a highlighter on my fingernail. He goes back and pulls out the colors and points at a purple color and a teal color and says this isn't the color that you wanted I look at him and I say no I wanted this color and point the baby pink one why he pointed at purple and teal when I didn't have purple or teal on my fingernail. God knows. he continues to laugh. I say it's OK. It doesn't matter because I wanted leave. My service got finished at 4:20 and they close at five so I didn't wanna cause any trouble. He gave me a $15 discount since the color was wrong mind, you not only was the color and him making my fingernail look extremely lumpy from the dip. He filed my nails down so much. That half of my nail is gone I came in with short nails in the beginning and now it hurts to use my fingertips. I ended up paying 35 for the service. I live five minutes away. I went home and I called my mother not knowing what to do in this situation because I do not like confrontation. I ask her if whenever she gets home from her job we can go back together and hopefully get something fixed. She ends up calling the salon and tells them that I'm going to come in and I need my nails fixed because they were so disgusting. I don't know how that man got a job I left the salon with powder, stuck on my fingers, not on my fingernail on my fingers. I come back to the salon and the man who done my nails points at me and laughs. A nice lady sets me down at a desk and starts doing my nails, the man who done my nails previously continues to stare at me and laugh at me he turns around and starts, mocking me and yes, it was in a different language but he was doing it in a very high-pitched voice and throwing his arms around and bobbing his head around. The lady who fixed my nails was pleasant, but I don't think she understood that I cannot have my nails a certain type. They have to be a neutral color and short she kept on nagging me about how they were so short mind you her coworker made them this short and how the color that I chose was too bright and how I should add sparkle, she was just being sweet, trying to give advice, but I stated multiple times that I cannot have my nails that way she then says you bite your nails huh? I said no. that did not seem like a professional thing to ask. It felt very judgmental the whole time and I will not be coming back here. Also, she nicked me while she was cutting access skin and I bled which is not a big deal, but her sanitary precautions was a big deal. She continue to apply the nail polish while I was bleeding and continued the service with a blood on my nail, and it was a good amount so whoever gets the baby pink nail polish that I got used on me today enjoy my DNA.

My wonderful daughter-in-law was able to get me an appointment for highlights and I was grateful and excited. I entered the salon and this lady with an 80's bump and bangs ( I immediately looked to the floor for the lost bow) first, laughed because I was wearing a facemask then established who I was and asked me about my hair. Being a hairstylist, I told her highlights, no slicing or blocking because my hair's too thin and no feathering because it looks like a slight color change, just stranding. She told me in an exaggerated tone, " I'm confused" "You'll be able to see what I'm talking about when you look at my hair," I said. Feeling good that we were making a connection (kind of) I asked her if she also do Iso Perms. She didn't know what that was. I (gulp) informed her that it was the "Stylist Choice Award" for perms for the last 16 years. But "no" she used Matrix and that was the best and I was going to love it. She had just finished up an older lady with gray-white coarse hair and told me how wonderful the product was (No offense to anyone, but in my opinion, Matrix sucks) I told her, "yes, but I have over processed bleached hair and this lady's hair was strong and natural." I asked if she knew anyone who worked independently that could do that perm for me in the future. She told me to find another hairdresser, she couldn't help me. We got back to my color. She told me she didn't understand anything I said and she knew I wouldn't be happy with anything she did for me. I asked her if she wanted me to leave. She said, "No, I just don't think I can please you." "Would it be better if I leave?" "Yes." She told me. Honestly, I felt like Anna Kendrick in "Pitch Perfect" when she was thrown out of the group and she drags her chair as she was leaving the group...only I didn't look back. Judging from this person's appearance and demeanor, I was lucky to escape her lack of professionalism and apparently...knowledge.
