With the open layout, consisting of two island platforms on different levels, and loads of signage, the station was very easy to navigate. It reminds me of Washington, DC's metro! One thing of note is a very long line at the fare machine. However, in fairness, it seems one or two fare machines has been pretty standard in Montreal.

Since the Montreal Canadiens moved to the Bell Center, this area has went downhill and is becoming a poor area of the city. The metro, which had originally three exits, now only has one. The Dawson exit, and the Ste-Catherine exit, are permanently closed off. The only existing exit is through the Plaza Alexis-Nihon complex, which can be a puzzle to find the street. Down at the station, you will find it pretty dark, and pretty small. Which means it could get congested pretty quickly. Luckily, few people actually get out at this station now, so you do not have to worry about that. This metro station lost it's glory with time.

Instead of getting a one-day or three-day unlimited pass, we decided to get direct one time route passes at $3.25 Canadian per pass. The trains get you to your destinations fast and the whole experience is great. The trains are quite modern, new, and clean. We found that the stations were very quiet and the ridership very courteous, polite and friendly (versus what you experience in America).

But after discussing this matter with one of the representatives, we were offered a fair deal. The representative responded quickly, which was so appreciated, as this trip was planned last minute. Finally, the driver was welcoming and punctual. The minivan itself could have been a little more spacious, but given the excellent service we got from this company, I think they still deserve the 5 stars.
