My apologies for English and not French as what little French I know is food and lodging related.
I had all 4 of my children fall ill on their study abroad trip to Europe. They caught a nasty cough in Italy and it hung around for weeks and it passed from one child to another. When we arrived in Paris I decided enough was enough and sought help at a pharmacy (Pharmacie de la Sorbonne) for cough syrup and inquired about an English speaking doctor. The lady at the counter was awesome. She sold us some decent cough syrup but also directed me to Dr. Medioni who was right around the corner from her store. She told me that he takes walk-in appointments and sure enough he does. I took one child the first day and waited maybe 10 minutes and two more the following day and waited 10-15.
Dr. Medioni's English was extremely good. He was attentive, kind, pleasant and polite. I was very pleased with the overall treatment and care he gave my children. Even better his office visit was only 40 Euros per child. No new patient fee, just 40 Euros. I was so worried I wouldn't be able to afford to see a doctor and buy medicines since everything would be out-of-pocket for my insurance plan. Then I was also very pleasantly surprised that the medicine was FAR less than I was expecting. Similar medications in the states would have easily run $300-500 per child without insurance. I paid less than $80. I was actually in shock but in a good way.
If you ever find yourself in Paris needing a English speaking doctor I would highly recommend Dr. Medioni for availability, professionalism and price. read more
