Just walked in to get a dog tag and the owner was super kind! Showed me the differences between the two shapes and materials and was willing to do engravings on both sides for the same cost! It's $15.00 per dog tag and his quality will last WAY longer than the standard PETCO ones! - laser precision cutting (won't wear off) - durable medals (thick solid brass or stainless steel) - lifetime warrantee on his work! My wife and two-year-old daughter and I stopped into the store to take a look at some gemstones on a really nice sunny Monday afternoon. Initially, the only thing I spotted was a cool looking, carbon coated, tungsten wire Damascus style ring. Then my wife saw a nice pair of diamond and peridot earrings in 14k gold. Then on the way out I asked about loose Aquamarines and the owner gave us a great deal on the whole purchase. John was really honest and gave us great information about everything we were buying along with some feedback on the gem industry and how things are going with the onset of lab gems, etc. I would definitely recommend this store again just because of how nice and quaint everything was and the friendliness and honesty. 5 stars! This shop is made of all my dreams! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have beautiful crystals, jewelry and they can repair anything! Liz went above and beyond to take multiple steps to make sure that my concerns were heard. As someone who doesn't know that much about fine jewelry, I had complete trust in Liz's expertise and her suggestions for following up on my concern (e.g. looking up the GIA certificate number, connecting with the individual who wrote my appraisal, connecting with my original jeweler with specific guided questions). Jon Tuncel's showroom is an absolute DELIGHT and filled with excellent specimens, including hand carved, decorative pieces (and jewelry of course). At my very first visit (just passing though CA for a few days) I met Jon, discussed shipping a large, 2-piece item (approx. 40lbs total). My purchase arrived in Memphis in PERFECT condition; it was expertly packed and shipped on the agreed upon date. Mythos has become a favorite place to find unique jewelry, as well as a wide variety of stones, crystals and geodes. The owner, Sibel, and her assistant, Janet, are very wonderful people, friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable, too! It's a great place to check out special gifts for friends and family. My sister found a labradorite ring, and on another visit, a sterling silver fleur de lis pendant, to use for her alter-ego pirate costume. I found a beautiful mother-of-pearl cross for a friend's birthday present, and a Hawaiian opal/koa wood/tungsten ring to use as a wedding band.
