Everything seemed newish. Bed however was uncomfortable, quite firm & the pillows were not the best which is unusual. First morning went down for breakfast, instantly noticed the scrambled eggs were at a dangerous temperature, heat level 1 of 10 setting, opened the lid and no steam came out, barely warm. Bacon was almost out, orange juice and coffee empty. This was 1+ hour till closing, there was only 2 customers there, no staff present but a tip jar. Also QR code signs about tipping staff everywhere. Furniture there was uncomfortable and unpractical, more style over substance. Less than an hour later I had an upset stomach. I was out all day and when I returned the room had not been serviced. Next day I skipped breakfast and messaged in the app to please get service. I also noticed that I've made a request two days before checking in for some toiletry items to be delivered, which had not been.. I followed up on that in the app when I got back to the hotel this afternoon thank goodness the room had been serviced in the missing toiletry items were there.

One word to the wise, if you paid for transportation to and from the airport thru Carnival you must take their ride as soon as you disembark upon returning to Tampa...Luckily I had remembered the name of the agent with Carnival who told us that we could take the shuttle bus at ANY time to get back to the airport but found out that was untrue. Luckily the bus had returned to bring passengers for the next cruise out and we were able to ride back to the airport with him. I will say the Tampa Port for Carnival S.U.C.K.S. and the cruise itself was, well, lets just say I expected everyone to have mullets and be missing the majority of their teeth. There's truly something for everyone. The restaurants are really good, and of course the kids loved getting ice cream at Scoops and Slices. And the customer service is just as special as the place itself. We had a small hiccup this trip, and that's when we had the pleasure of meeting Chrissy at the front desk. I was really disappointed that our reservation and room weren't up to par, but I called and she took immediate action. She not only took care of the issue, she genuinely helped make our stay better. She was so kind to my family and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. She is incredible. I only hope that when we come back next summer, we get the pleasure of having Chrissy there again, honestly, It's people like her who make us love this place so much. The amenities here are priceless, but more than anything, we love the feeling this place gives us. It's truly the best place we've stayed in all of Florida. It doesn't just feel like a vacation, it feels cozy, warm, and familiar, almost like we're with family. The rooms were sparkling clean with more than enough room for my dog's crate and my luggage. The bathrooms were bright and I liked the rainfall shower with awesome water pressure. The location made it really easy to explore the area. There was a really cute dog park only 10 minutes drive away. The water views next to the hotel were also great and nice to stroll in the evening when I arrived and the next morning. I would happily stay here with my dog again.

There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the beach that's also included with the day pass, which was a nice benefit. There are towels located right before you go out to the pool area. A guest who was staying here also said you can fish right off the canal and go out on kayaks and paddle boards. The food and beverages were decent enough, and not ridiculously overpriced. The pool was a little chilly, but felt great when I needed a quick dip. Would consider staying here on vacation instead of just getting a day pass.

Margaritaville now charges purchases to your account throughout the cruise instead of waiting until the last day, and we had some issues with making payments on the account. My girlfriend's suitcase was also damaged during the cruise, which was frustrating. We also had a period where the air conditioning in our room wasn't working properly, and the room became extremely hot. Despite those issues, they didn't ruin the overall experience. We had a good time celebrating, and for the price, I think it's a solid cruise option. I'd definitely sail with Margaritaville at Sea again, I just want to try out some of their other ships next time!

I booked a grand suite and it was very nice. Yes, it's showing its age but I'm more concerned about cleanliness. My cabin steward, Paul, did an excellent job. Loved the towel animals. It had a balcony but it's old so the wall is high. You can't see over the ledge if laying down on the sun lounger. It's a big balcony. My only complaint is it's not covered. I was out during the sail away party and the people in the pool deck were hanging their drinks over the railing. I was nervous someone could throw something and land on the me or the balcony. The suite has a separate living room and bedroom. Very nice size! The bathroom is big for a cruise ship - jacuzzi tub and stand up shower. The food isn't bad. I went to JWB Steakhouse one night. It's an extra fee to eat here. I don't think it's necessarily worth it but you get a lot of food. I ordered the ribeye. I like my steak rare and the meat cut is too thin to get it rare to my liking. The seasoning was good. You get an appetizer, soup or salad, entree, and dessert. The shrimp cocktail was good. I absolutely loved the onion soup. Steak was just ok. And I was too full for dessert. The buffet has a lot of good choices. I wish Cheeseburger in Paradise offered a turkey burger. Some things on the buffet are better than others. The reubens at the sandwich station are awesome. I got one with turkey and it was also delicious. Fins, the main dining room, is hit or miss for me. They post the nightly menus outside of the restaurant so you can pick and choose what nights you want to go by the choices. They don't switch up the menus so if you got often it's the same thing. The standouts for me were the hearts of palm appetizer and the curry shrimp entree. The mushroom rotini wasn't bad either. The sauce was thin. I thought the key lime sponge cake dessert was too sweet. Crazy sweet. Disembarkation was a cluster you know what as usual. Not a lot of direction - especially when people don't follow the order to get off! Suites are supposed to get priority after ADA but so many people clog the elevators and hallways. But you can technically be off the ship and in your car by 8:30/9 if all goes well. The casino has a decent variety of slots and tables. Free drinks while gambling but the servers tend to favor the tables. If you have the drink package, it's a quick walk to the bar to get your own. I had to do that several times. On each sailing, they have a veteran's ceremony. They recognize all the veterans on board and the cruise director speaks. It's very nice and one of the things that sets this ship apart from others. As a lifetime diamond member, my husband was even able to check in a bit earlier than we expected. Staff has been very nice and accommodating throughout our stay, by the way. Friendly. Our room with its king size bed and sofa was large. We always take advantage of the in room fridge and microwave. It looks freshly painted and decorated. The large screen TV is huge! The bathroom has a tub shower combination with shower curtain. The toilet seat is small and low, however. Lots of fluffy towels. Breakfast is included. My least favorite combo was the meal the first day -- a whites only egg something with greasy sausage pieces that look like a hot dog chopped up. The second day was a bit better with an omelet and sausage patties. Luckily they have waffles, cold/hot cereal, and breads to toast... One positive was the free bottled water provided. This was a nice amenity. We chose the hotel for its convenience. We were in town to watch our great grandson play in an invitational baseball tournament. And the fields were not far away.
