Loved Slumberland. Cathy was my salesperson, and shes great! I bought a console table that was…read moreextremely easy to put together and is beautiful. The prices, as well as quality, is better than most of the furniture stores I visited in Grand Forks.

I am so upset with this company! I should've known better than to order a couch from them…read moreconsidering I had purchased one last year and we had to throw it due to the middle part caving in. Well, I gave them another chance and I honestly regret it! They text me yesterday saying our couch would be delivered between 9am and 11am. At 10:50 we called and asked where our couch was. The lady didn't know, but said she would call back. We got a call a few minutes later from someone else stating their truck had broken down (real professional! One truck for a whole store?) and was waiting on a rental. I have been sitting home all morning waiting for the delivery and still nothing. We asked since we have been waiting for you, can we get help carrying it in? He replies with, "We can't do that?" Oh, but you can if I paid an extra $100. $100 to help bring it in the house.. Really? Last year I paid at most $50 for delivery and set up! "You don't have to be home when it's delievered". Really? People steal!!! I have put my daily life on hold for their issues and they still can't even give a little. The manager also stated, "We tried to get ahold of you to let you know". They did not! I got ZERO phone calls and ZERO texts. They were quick to text me a time frame yesterday though! I am so unhappy with my experience with this place that I wont ever step foot in there again! Can totally understand why their parking lot is usually empty and only have a 2.5 star raiting. Worthless!

Ashley's Furniture in Grand Forks has several negative reviews across the internet, and you can add…read morethis one to the list. I considered giving them one-star, but I did actually have a positive initial interaction with the sales team. My wife and I were in the market for a couch, more specifically a sectional. We found one that we both really enjoyed and purchased it in store. The buying experience was very pleasant, and Alex, our salesman was incredibly helpful. We agreed on a delivery date that was about 2 weeks out, and this was pretty important for us because we were moving shortly. Fast forward 2 weeks and I'm sitting around waiting for delivery during the predetermined time period (2-4pm). 4 pm rolls around and still no sectional. I call the store, and they tell me the delivery guys are running behind. A call would have been nice, but whatever. 'When are they coming?' Seems like a simple question. 'Sir, I don't know. I will call them and call you right back.' Well, 40 minutes goes by and I call again. I'm informed that they are on the way and that they will call me when they pull into my neighborhood. Okay... So far I've gotten zero phone calls or updates, so I'm not terribly inclined to believe this. 20 minutes later a truck pulls up (sans my twice promised phone call..) and a couple guys ask where I want my sofa/love seat combo. Sofa/love seat? Maybe they are confused. I purchased a sectional! 'Bring it upstairs. I want it in the living room'. Sure as you're reading this review they start bringing in a sofa and a love seat. A few (more) phone calls later I'm talking to the salesman who ordered the couches, instead of the sectional I paid for. He takes the blame for the error, which was good on him, but informs me that I really only have 3 options. 1- Keep the delivered items (I still don't want them) 2- Get a refund (this leaves me in a less than desirable position. Furniture costs quite a bit more where I am moving, and that takes this option off the table.) 3- I can take the floor model, and they can deliver it in 2 days between the hours of dawn and 'I hope you're ready to waste another day waiting for us to deliver your (maybe someone else's) stuff'. If I'm paying full price for an item then why are you offering me used furniture? You've already screwed up so badly that I've taken to the internet to share my experience and now you expect me to pay 'new' price for your showroom furniture that's been ridden by every person that's set foot in your store for the last 6 months? Ridiculous. Now, I can't tell you that your experience will bear any resemblance to what I've gone through, but really, why take the chance? Slumberland and Furniture Row are both a stone's throw away, so check then out instead.

Two of us stopped at this store one evening with the purpose of shopping for furniture to be gifted…read moreto a parent and her child. Eventually we were greeted. We explained our mission and that we were on a budget. She told us to look around and if we saw anything of interest to let her know. We saw only one set. It was located at the far back of the store, positioned so you had to walk past all the more expensive displays both entering and leaving the store. All furniture pieces were ticketed with sale tags, but none stating the original price before pieces went on sale. I requested the original price information from the salesperson. She went back to the checkout area. We waiting on the showroom floor until it was obvious that she didn't intend to return (we watched her look in our direction every so often)so we left. The next evening we tried again. This time it was a male salesman. I asked him for the original price before the sale tag on the couch, chair, ottoman and coffee table. He said it is not Ashley's business model to discuss this, that they don't know the original price. I told him most people like to know they are getting a good deal for their money. He decided to debate. He was angry and I called him on it. They also charge $149 to deliver to a location three blocks away. He says they can charge that because it is a service.... I was kicked out of the store because I told them I had put up with their s*** for to evenings and it was a waste of my time. On the way out the salesman yelled, Have a nice day...ay in a perfect mocking tone. We took ourselves and our cash out and won't look back.....I would give less than a star if it was possible.
