Rubie took such great care of my hair! She used all high end products and was so knowledgeable on each one. Because I have psoriasis she was able to introduce me to a lot of soothing hair products that would better my condition! Aside from product knowledge she also gave me a great color refresh on my dull washed out black and I was so happy she introduced me to some fun tinsel! I wanted a fun change but without bleaching my hair and she gave me exactly that! I highly recommend you check her out if you're looking for a super talented, kind, caring and thorough hairstylist! She's SO knowledgeable and very thorough in how you want your hair cut and different techniques that are good for you!! It's the best cut I've had in a long time. It has been awhile since I cut my hair so it was super long and had no shape to it. We took a decent amount off and she was so good at thinning out the ends and blending it in. Another thing she did which I feel a lot of stylists don't do is she blew it straight showed me my hair THEN curled it. In the past I've had girls curl it and it looks great but once I straighten it I can tell it's choppy or not blended well at the ends. I'm going back to her for my color and cannot wait as she said she specializes and LOVES balayage color! I'm so glad i stumbled upon her little studio.

My hair is a bit difficult and time consuming to work with: it's thick in both the hair strands and the amount I have. My hair also absorbs chemicals more slowly, so any process done to it takes way longer than expected as well. I'm glad that MJ is willing to work with me and my hair type. It's recommended to make an appointment with MJ ahead of time. If you're looking for a specific style, I also suggest you message her first with pictures of what you would like, so she can prepare and work with you. I appreciate that she's honest with me about what will work and what she may have to change to help suit my face and needs. MJ's studio is small, clean, and cozy. She'll do her best to try to make sure you're comfortable during the appointment. She'll also give suggestions on how to take care of and style your hair if you got any chemical treatments done. I've noticed that her perming style is less damaging compared to other salons. My hair feels so much healthier. I've been going to her for a few years now.
