I've tried various methods to fix the problem. Stretching, yoga, and massage where of no help. Core strengthening and posture training helped, but didn't solve the root problem. Paul's approach was the most effective because it addresses the fundamental underlying issue: improper motion and function. Paul's approach is to do many of the same things you would do in physical therapy but doing them repeatedly over time that you just cant get in two hours a week a physical therapists office. To get the same amount of treatment would cost thousands of dollars that your insurance just wouldn't pay. Paul's been a great help. The thing I like best about working with Paul is that it is obvious he is both compassionate and outcome driven. Clearly his main motivation is helping his students and not maximizing short-term profit by selling a 'quick fix'. Paul is not the kind of guy to be phony, or fake, or blow smoke up your butt trying to oversell you an expensive plan providing an immediate life-long fix. Rather, he offers very reasonable pricing and provides a ton of value considering what his time is worth as both an accredited PT and all around awesome teacher. I would advise anyone not to go through life with a "functional dysfunction", or worse, self-medicate with opiates or rush off to spinal surgery. Working with Paul in his small group setting really helped me gradually train my body to be used in the correct manner we are born with. We cant forget bad habits and body dysfunction, but we can learn new, proper, patterns to replace the bad movement patterns, and that is a fundamental goal of the Body Rehab Gym.

A colleague recommended me a personal trainer they knew at a nearby gym and I managed to book an…read moreintro with the wrong trainer. Fortunately, the wrong trainer turned out to be Alberto -- who ended up being the right trainer (for me)! As of the time of writing this, I've been working out with Alberto twice each week for over a year. One of the first things he did was help me recalibrate my diet/macros, which wasn't something that my previous trainer (a few years ago) spent much time with me. The approach was customized to my own health and performance goals. Having an opportunity to work with him, he has a good cadence of going into a targeted zone for around a month and then begins to shift. This has helped me get better at planning my solo workouts (i.e., if I know I have another big leg day coming up -- I might focus elsewhere the days leading into it). Results? Down ~20lbs and just got back from a session where I broke my personal best for deadlifting. I've never felt stronger. My only hesitation in recommending Alberto is that more people might make him less available for me. :-)

He was absolutely great and we immediately fell in love with the whole gym layout and equipment available. We went back the next day with a guest pass and loved how clean the whole place was and how all the members were nice and followed the gym etiquette. If we lived in town this would definitely be our spot!
