I have never been this experimental with my hair in the past. Maybe just one semi-vivid color (subtle violet), but that's it. Nicki asked me what rich colors I liked and she decided to blend the two colors. She really focused on her mixing and I liked that she wrote it down for next time. After straightening out my curly hair, she usedbl the curling wand all around in the back. After almost three hours, which included my eyebrows and upper lip to be waxed, I took a look at myself in the hand mirror and smiled. I am so, so disappointed in my experience today at VIP Salon. I made an appointed to have my hair styled this morning. Today is the day of my baby shower and I'm too heavily pregnant to comfortable do my own hair...plus, mama wanted to be pampered a bit, you know? So I called yesterday and asked for an appointment. I was given Donald's number and told to reach out to him. I texted him and described exactly what I wanted: my hair straightened with soft curls added. He responded that he could take me, and we had a plan set for 10am today. I got to VIP before 10am and waited. Donald was late. Okay...no biggie...it happens. I get it. He sat me down and I told him again what I wanted. He worked in silence, beginning to straighten my hair. Mind you, it was about 10:10 by the time he started...and another woman walked in and asked him if he could give her a haircut. He told her yeah and they agreed on 10:30...which was confusing. He still had my style to do though? I figured he knew what he was doing so I didn't say anything. I was really uncomfortable because the lady was just sitting there staring at me, waiting for me to be done. Donald straightened my hair, and did a poor job of it. Which I was expecting; most stylists, when they put curls in my hair, don't make my hair pin-straight. But instead of continuing, he pulled off my cape thing and told me it would be $25. I just looked at him like...excuse me? And then he had the nerve to ask me how much I wanted to give him as a tip since I was using my card. I spoke up and told him that what he'd done was not what we talked about either via text OR when I sat down, and I wasn't happy. I was actually damn near in tears. I looked awful! All he did was vaguely gesture to my hair and tell me "it has a slight curve". Infuriated beyond words and waaaay to pregnant to tactfully handle the situation any further, and because I no longer trusted him, I paid him the $25 and left. I ended up going right around the corner to Salon Michelle, where the owner took me in instantly and fixed the hack job Donald had done. Had he listened to me in the first place, that would have avoided my bad experience. And had he listened to me when I told him he hadn't done what we'd talked about...if he had even TRIED to correct it instead of trying to convince me that my eyes weren't seeing a bad hair job...if he had even just apologized, and not rushed me for a walk in...this situation and my business could have been salvaged. Instead, he ignored me, did a bad rush job on me, took my money anyway, and sent a very pregnant, very stressed out woman away disappointed. I won't ever go back to him or VIP.

They let me sit in the salon chairs next to my fiance while she was getting her hair done. As we were leaving to my car in the parking lot, I suprised my fiance with a beautiful set of flowers. One of the employees saw us from the inside and ran to the door to look out and say "AWWWWWW". That really made my day and it made it even more special. I would take my fiance back to this place.
