My experiences with the Blair Family Medicine office has been HORRIBLE…read more I called to let the doctor's office know that I changed my Primary Care Provider. It was 4:45 and they did not answer. But the recording said that they were open until 5:00. The voice mail was FULL. That is not a shock to me. It is just another example of POOR customer service. This doctor's office is about a mile from my home. But it has been 12 weeks since I first contacted the office. YET I never saw the doctor. That sad tale began in early April and it is now early July. Initially, I was pointed to a long form to fill out online. I filled it out. But there were troubles getting to the office digitally. Finally, it arrived but I heard nothing. I called back and was told it was on the desk of the doctor. Then weeks later I was called for 2 appointments. At the first one, the nurse took some tests. I was set for an appointment with the doctor 2 weeks later. ALL I wanted was a basic annual physical exam. But then I dropped the ball. I overslept. That was 10 weeks after the initial contact. I called them and they said they will call me when they have an opening. The Priva Medical Group service that they use emailed, texted and called me to reset the appointment one week later. So I called and they said they will call me. But it has been more than 2 weeks without a call. That is when I ran out of patience. I sought and found a Primary Care Provider that will take my insurance. Thankfully I have been very healthy all my life. I just want to get tested to make sure all the things they could test were in good order. It seems prudent to get an annual physical to consistently monitor all health factors. Then changes can be noticed over the course of many years. If I was an elderly person with chronic health challenges or a parent with a child that had health challenges I would not want to battle the sloppy systems around this doctor. I wonder how long has that voice mailbox been full? How often has it been full? How many others like me wanted to leave a message this year but could not? Is there any person it that office that cares about maintaining a high standard of professional communications with the patients? I dislike leaving such a review. But I want to warn others. I wish I would have paid more attention to reviews before starting down this path. Note that I am not the first one to give a poor review for this office. Search online for a various places others have left reviews and comments. When a doctor's office gets several one-star reviews then that is a serious red flag. I ignored those ratings and hoped for the best because the office is so close. It seems that what could improve these matters is for the office to not take new patients until things are greatly improved, add another doctor to the team, and bring in outside experts to streamline the processes. On reflection, I wonder how many other people have been very disappointed with the customer service over the years but did not bother to leave a poor review. For all that I know Dr. Blair might be a wonderful professional. But the systems around him are dysfunctional. Note that when I found my replacement Primary Care Provider that is many more miles away, I was given the option for an initial appointment in 6 or 7 days. Considering how much money goes to health insurance, that would seem to be a suitable expectation.

When I was taking my infant daughter to him, when she had a fever or I had a major concern I could never get her in to be seen right away. I had to take her to the ER or Emergency care clinic just to be seen! I had to change her to a different doctor who we now love and if she is sick or we have a problem we can talk or be seen the same day! Dr. Blair then had his patients do a SmartBeat testing, he told us it would be completely free to his patients. Then we started receiving lab fees for $1000 or more. After talking to the doctor he said to disregard the bills they were taking care of it. Now, 1 1/2 later we are getting collection notices! There are so many other good doctors in Ennis or Waxahachie. Please do your research on these doctors before you see them. Please learn from me and the lessons I have learned from trying to go see a doctor that I thought was a good one!

When I called to schedule the appointment, the receptionist hurried the conversation with little interest so that it lasted for less than 5 minutes. I let her know I was using the medical savings plan, Multiplan (ValuePoint), not insurance, which she knew in a general sense. Nothing about the fact that the clinic would not accept it was mentioned. I had to find that out 3 weeks later on the day of my appointment... I entered the clinic and turned in my new patient paperwork, having already filled it out and printed it ahead of time. In the beginning, the receptionist (another woman) was cordial and friendly, but once I informed her that I used Multiplan, and how the billing process was explained to me, her mood shifted. I provided her with a phone number to call for clarification, but instead, she left the front desk and spoke with a billing specialist in the back. When she returned, she sternly notified me that they would not be participating in the program, because they only accept Multiplan *insurance*, and what I had was the discount plan. Concerned that I hadn't explained it correctly, and that this was perhaps the reason I was being refused (this clinic had been the first one named on the approved list of providers I was given by Multiplan), I had a representative on the phone and asked the receptionist if she would be comfortable speaking with them. She looked at me with a vexed expression and repeated herself in a slow, and condescending manner, adding that "[they] don't have the staffing to sit on the phone all day and enter the individual codes for each of my visits." My worst fear had come true. I felt that because I wasn't using insurance, but instead a medical savings plan, I would be treated like someone who was too poor to receive their services. Lastly, when I chose to cancel the appointment, there was no sympathy or at least a professional courtesy remark like "we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused", "we wish we could help", or even "thank you for considering us." I walked away and that was it, after 3 weeks of waiting... The only type of consideration I received was from the Multiplan representative who was *still* on the line for me, waiting patiently... Generally speaking, people working at the front desk of a facility represent the integrity of the institute and the professionals they work with. This was a sorely disappointing experience that I wasted a lot of time on. My patience was met with a curt disservice. The women working at the front desk of BOTMC gave me the worst impression. I was looking forward to meeting the nurse practitioner and visiting the clinic for nearly a month. It's already difficult finding a place and then setting up an appointment. The worst that could happen is being treated with little care. P.S. Even the phone service representative who handles their calls whenever they're on a lunch break was rude.

The receptionist immediately told us we had to be patients before any doctor could see us. I explained that all we wanted was information on the institute and it's treatments. She gave us the same answer. She was very professional and polite. I asked her how much would it cost us to ask this information to the doctors. She said between "250 and $300". Then she offered to get her supervisor; we said OK. Her supervisor without hesitation offered the information we asked for... Kudos to her. But there was one specific question on non-invasive biopsy she couldn't answer. So she excused herself to ask a doctor. When she came out, she had this embarrassed look on her face and said she could not talk to us anymore unless we were patients. The doctor told her that unless we paid upfront, no one could talk to us. The thing is that we were not seeking, treatments or diagnosis. Only information on what they offered. We were not going to pay $300 for that. Imagine going to by a car and the sales person told you that before he could show you any models, share with you any prices, or answer any questions on safety or performance, you will have to pay him $300 regardless of you purchasing the car or not. There are no doctors anymore in the country, just hyenas in white coats.

I felt so excited to see the results. It has been years since I got a pedicure! She asked me if I wanted my toe nails polished but I did not bring any polish. So, I made my next appointment for 2 months. Yolanda is very professional and has years of experience. She informed Dr. Brandy of a soft spot on my heal and the doctor ordered me an ointment to apply. Everything was so relaxing and I felt like I was cared for really well. I will be going here for all of my foot care.

An appointment was made for mid August and I waited for the link. I finally got the link 3 days before my appointment. Filled out forms and went to the office, met great folks and had a very good experience with the doctor. I will be returning. There are three doctors practicing out of this office. I normally see Dr. Santone in this office…read more I have been a patient of this office for about 11 years- never had an issue. I adore Dr Santone; apparently so does everyone else because she has a long waiting list to get in. I scheduled my annual check-up and for insurance reasons I needed it done by the end of 2018 so the only Dr. with an opening was Dr. Sims. That should have been my warning. I went in on December 12th for a full annual check-up; top to bottom, EKG, blood work. While I was there I asked him to refill my prescription that I have been on since 2012. (It is in no way used to treat pain-or any kind of opioid). He did. He also wanted to run some tests based off my last blood results a year earlier. I have worked with Dr Santone to address these issue (diet, exercise, supplements) so I didn't do the additional test as I wanted to see what the new blood results turned up. When January rolled around and it was time to get another months prescription he REFUSED to give me a refill without coming in and paying for another appointment. There was no reason for me to come in as I had just gone through a physical 30 days prior. My blood results had improved. It is my opinion he only does this so he can bill the insurance company. I did contact my insurance company to let them know. Hopefully, they will do some investigation into his billing practices.
