I'm a huge lover of bookstores like this. I love to support independently and locally owned anything... but books are one of my favorite things so I'm pretty passionate about a local and independently owned bookstore. And by pretty passionate I mean way over the top, want to hug and kiss the owners, profess my undying love passionate. This little bookstore features a carefully selected mix of local authors and regionally highlighted books. It's sleek and airy and well lit. You'll also find notecards, postcards, poetry journals and a warm welcoming vibe here. Their logo though, is what really got me. A mermaid reading a book. Hello, adorable. If you fall in love with that logo as hard as I did, there are totes and tees printed with her on them for sale here as well. Sigh. Support this wonderful little place please!

They had a couple shelves full of books by local authors right up front.... like they knew I was coming. I also bought a book about the blues, being that I was just footsteps from 61 Highway.... a major artery of blues history in Mississippi. Be sure to spend some time talking with the very nice lady that runs the store. Highly recommend!!

Inside I was reminded of the old Tattered Cover bookstore in Denver CO, lots of nooks where books are shelved. They had an entire section of the store desecrated to Southern writers. I appreciated they labeled sections where they had books by one author (notably John Grisham has several shelves to himself).

I really like this book store. It's a pretty big size and has multiple sections. Even has a kid…read moreplay area. They have a Starbucks in there (that I love) and they have several dessert options. They also have a partnership with the Cheesecake Factory so you can order a slice of several options or even a whole cheesecake. I wish they had more comfy seating but they do have a couple tables and chairs. Can get pretty packed though. Overall, a good book store.

What about the customers that aren't buying just books, you are going to make them carry all their stuff out in their arms? It is not like Aldi discount store, BAM is extremely expensive, they should be able to afford to provide their customers with bags so their products don't get destroyed trying to get to their car. I was in here for a few hours today and I was tired of holding my shopping bag (I walked from five…read morebelow to BAM! and had a five below bag) and 2 books that I was thinking about getting so I slipped them in my bag and was planning on putting them back or buying them. I ended up buying a coffee and forgetting all about the books! I called the store and the employee who answered was pretty nice about the situation, and told me they were just about to call the cops so to come in tomorrow and return the books. All of the employees are very kind, especially the Joe Muggs worker, and speaking of Joe Muggs, I got a "The One Who Shall Not Be Names" frappe and it was amazing. Very strong coffee flavor! I don't know about the $6.55 price tag but the it's still an alright price. (Bathrooms were very clean) *I took off one star because the coffee is so expensive.*

She remembers snippets of books, quotes from stories and obscure names of towns far and wide in books. She is very pleasant and inspiring. She spoke for about 30 minutes to my Literary Club.
