Reasons that you don't want to work at MyAutoStore
1. No running water or working toilets at the facility.
2. Fuel Containment is not vented outside, in spill containment - like the oil and antifreeze containers are, located by garage door where a loader drives in and out throughout each shift.
3. No loader safety, numerous pinch points and near missed throughout each workday both inside the garage and out in the yard. Half of which come from the second shift supervisor. Advised that operators need to drive front end loader faster than 5mph or a fast paced walk with a vehicle on the long forks through a congested yard.
4. Most of the time HVAC Machine is not working, Even after supervisor is advised, employees are cracking Freon lines with in the shop itself. But, they have a clean air act in effect for smoking.
5. Oil, Antifreeze, other petroleum based fluids, water and mud are on the floor regularly and create a slip hazards throughout the warehouse and garage. End of second shift you are required to scraped the caked oil dry off the floor for the first shift. Combined with auto parts either laying in a common walk way or blocking vital locations where other parts need to be placed. Along with tripping hazards over air lines and or electrical cords. When it rains, run off water comes into the shop, and mixes with all previously stated contaminants on the floor.
6. Employees do not receive any lift certifications for vehicle lifts. Nor, for the front end loader, forklift, Bendi-lift or pallet jacks for that matter.
7. Poor / limited lighting in the garage during second shift.
8. Employee and customer parking lot is riddled with potholes creating tripping hazards.
9. High turn over rate due to number pushing production, instead of taking into account for wear and tear on employees bodies during physical work. Corporate requires each employee on a lift to drop at least 5 motors per 7.5 hr shift (30 minutes deducted for lunch) On top of pulling other various parts such as Rims / tires, doors, head / taillights, Satellite Navigation, Air Bags, mirrors, drive shafts, rear ends, front carriers and etc. "Sorry, some people know what AllData states is an achievable time frame."
10. Often run out of oil dry and oil diapers, employees have to use fuel from dismantled automobiles to clean the floor, where it is either squeegeed or swept outside the shop doors with a push broom.
11. Break room is disgusting large amount of flies, in the ceiling drop ceiling lights and flying around the break room itself.
12. You will have to cover your tool box / cart due to the amount of pigeons that continuously fly in and out of the garage, leaving droppings on your investment. (tools)
13. You will not receive uniforms for the first 90 days, in which your personal cloths will get destroyed, with no compensation.
14. When the off site safety manager does visit the site, appears to be oblivious to safety issues above.
15. Spanish speaking employees do not receive comprehensive training in their preferred language. Nor, is it taken into account that Some employees have an issue with reading, Where they're left to struggle or Get help from coworkers.
16. Hourly rate does not coincide with mechanic expenses, e.g. quality tools, gloves, boots and etc. Combined with Pa tax of 6% and Philly tax of 8.3% (now 5% as of 7/1/17) and tolls if you commute requires them. Injunction with your hourly rate will start between 12.00 to 15.00 an hour, Might as well forget about a review altogether, since that's never going to happen. Employees that have been there for over a year, haven't received a single review, nor did I in the 9 month duration that I was there.
17. Management has been advised of 1-16 but will turn a blind eye as long as your wearing a 1/8th" bump cap and safety glasses. read more
