I live in Coffeyville Kanas so it is 75 miles one way but the selection is great and I like the value to price. Wade and others have helped me many times, and there is a wonderful atmosphere that you do not find in Coffeyville KS. Stopped in here about a month ago on a whim. If you're in the market for some nice beautiful lamps stop in here and you'll find more than you're wanting! I have lamps being stored in my closets because I have so many but this place was so tempting! Lots of Bernhardt pieces. Some of their original prices were steep but noticed they had been marked down several times making them much more reasonable. I snagged a great black and white spode planting pot for $35 such a great find I was thrilled about! When I pulled out my card to pay I had an AMEX and they asked if I had another card. I wish they had a credit card accepts sign with what they offer. Major thing I noticed in here was music. There wasn't any playing and when you're browsing and even the workers are quiet it just feels awkward. Also, research shows when a store plays music customers are much more likely to purchase items if music is playing. It's a mental trick your head does to you. Overall, I would definitely come back some quality items in this store! read more

I have purchased and consigned with the Mustard Seed. I appreciate the fact they are very selective of condition of items taken on consignment. I have been a customer for 35 plus years. Yes a couple times have gone in and never said hello but, they were busy talking with a client. I was fine with that. As I like to browse on my own. I have referred lots of clients to them and they have all been satisfied. As far as taking something in. They stress the condition they need it in so that you do not waste your time bringing it in for them just to reject it. It does not hurt my feelings when they do. It is business. All items are not refinished some are original. I can feel if something has been refinished or not. They are experienced and when I ask questions they are very informative. If, you are wanting to consign any quality pieces I encourage you to make an appointment and discuss it with them. As they say photos can be deceiving if you take one and send to them. Then you arrive with item and it is not the quality it looked in photo. I like the ideal of music. But, I have a hearing issue. If music was playing I would not be able to hear very well. I am just commenting on this: But, if a sale clerk told me the owner should not have told me that. I personally would have called and spoke with the owner. It was not her decision. Mustard Seed is an amazing place !! They get new things in everyday so each time I come in it is like a new place. The staff is so kind, helpful and the owners Jon and Diana are usually there to help out also (along with the cute store dogs). The staff all wears masks and I have seen them do sanitation frequently as well. Mustard Seed has a very wide selection of furniture and home type accessories, they have some vintage items, some modern, so many different styles, as well as something for everyone's budget, everything that comes in has to be approved so only quality items are in the store. The pricing reflects that quality but don't be afraid to ask about the monthly markdowns ! Definitely recommend this place !!!!! Couldn't recommend it enough:)) read more

Quality furniture and accessories, most of the pieces in my house came from Mustard Seed!! Buying vintage or top of the line furniture that's built well at a good price is a win win. I've also consigned things through MS. Why buy todays poorly built expensive furniture retail when you can get great deals on quality and keepsake pieces? John and Diana are so nice too!! I should have never stepped foot in this store. Geez. First off don't think you're going to go in there and find a cheap gem of nice furniture. Oh no. This place has really old antique furniture that's been restored. Everything is very very nice and looks like it's brand new. This shouldn't be called consignment though, seems decieving. If you're looking for extremely nice restored antique furniture than this is the store for you... If you have around $1,000 to spend on used furniture. read more

Had some items that had been previously approved by the owner to bring in, unfortunately when I called to make an appt, an extremely rude employee (female) answered my call and told me there actually wasn't room on their floor for anything right now and that the owner shouldn't have told me that. I left some retired Swarovski crystal figurines along with the original boxes at the Mustard Seed on consignment. When I went to pick up my unsold items, I discovered that they had lost or discarded the original boxes. Anyone that deals in Swarovski crystal knows that having the original boxes is what makes these items desirable to collectors. Not only did I receive next to nothing for the items that sold but losing the boxes made my unsold items virtually worthless. I would not recommend this business. You are better off selling your items yourself on Ebay. read more

Good luck! I called ahead and sent a picture in to see if they would take a nearly new chair. They agreed. Upon delivery, the owner met me at the door and yelled, "you did call, didn't you", I said, "I did" and continued through the door. Her son came up at that point and told her he had talked with me and agreed to take the chair. She immediately looked at the chair and started making excuses why she would not take it, it was too dirty (dust was in the crevices of the chair),and she didn't have time to dust it. She had sold 46 pieces of furniture that day and she did not have time to feather dust my chair. There was very little dust on the chair Despite the fact they wouldn't take the chair for any logical reasonl, she was the ruddest person I have ever dealt with in my entire shopping experience. read more
