One of my children elected the guitar. Ok, teacher booked for an hour a week, what next... obviously a guitar. Hill's music came warmly recommended by a few musicians here and there, but as I am deeply incompetent when it comes to guitars, it's that buying process that scared my from second number one. So we made it there at 12:35...closed until 13:30 nice start (daily closed from 12:30-13:30 a man has got to eat ;-) ). When the place opened again at 13:30 we rushed in as there was a queue already (but we were first), the store owner, apparently a renowned figure in the neighborhood, was efficient, this is what you need, this is the price, it's not made in China because I believe in Europe... cash or credit, thank you see you soon! And that was it took us 5 min to walk out with a EUR 200 classic guitar, so my conclusion is that although I was a little frightened by the purchasing experience, this one when by so fast that did not have time to even feel the fear. We are now a few weeks later and I ask the guitar teacher, whet he thinks of the instrument: "it's absolutly perfect, best value for money you can get". YES! that felt great to hear! While living in Belgium last year I attempted to order an amp from this store on-line. After…read morewaiting for 3 months, and after numerous emails and phone calls on a near-weekly basis, I was informed that the equipment I wanted was not available, and never had been. They simply had not updated their web page for god knows how long. 3 weeks later, and more emails and phone calls, and I finally got my money back without so much as a "sorry for the inconvenience". Absolutely horrible customer service, and a double-helping of incompetence to top it off. Once I got my money back, I ordered from a German company and got what I needed in 5 days. DO NOT ORDER FROM KEY MUSIC!!! As for their store, it's average at best in terms of stock and price, but again the customer service is atrocious. The salesperson had a friend hanging out in the store at the same time I was trying to purchase an overdrive pedal, so he was rather put off at having to answer any questions...The guy wouldn't even take the time to let me plug it in and play through it, as apparently a 250 euro sale is not worthy of their attention.

He didn't give any valuable advice or complete answers to my questions and just seemed in a rush to push me into buying something (whatever) or get me out of the shop as soon as possible. I felt he had no interest in helping me at all. I felt I couldn't trust his advice.

When searching online for similar items the differences were surprisingly small, and in my opinion well worth it for the comfort of having a good service and the reassuring support of a physical shop.

I highly recommend Ben's guitar shop after taking a friend's Tele. The guitar is new but was badly…read moreset up, wasn't very playable and didn't sound right. Ben did a fantastic job and I got the Tele back within a couple of days ,and man what a difference! It's now very playable and the sound is so much better. Both pickups were at the wrong height, neck too high, bridge too low. Now the twangy sound, typical of a Tele, is present and lovely on position 3 (bridge). Besides, Ben is very knowledgeable about guitars and a nice chap and his pricing is very decent. So, great work for a very democratic price and job done swiftly. I am going back with other guitars, no doubt about that.
