The guy working the counter was very patient, asked me a few questions, and came up with exactly the right strings. Thanks a million. That saved me from having to make a second trip back to the store. The other staff members I saw were friendly and knowledgeable. The overall vibe in the store was very chill. Be aware the store is hidden in the shopping center but GPS will take you to it. Literally it is tucked into a corner on the off side with a couple of other little shops. It is like many music stores - packed to the ceiling with guitars, band instruments, amps, and other gear. Whatever you need I am sure they can hook you up. I will be back as soon as I need another set of violin strings!

I feel like I need to preface this review with a few disclaimers. Often times people look at me and…read moreassume I am a rock star. I assure you I am not. In fact, my only musical ability is singing like a maniac in my car, or the occasional karaoke post crawfish boil. So basically what I am saying is that I don't know a piccolo from an oboe. I visited Lanier because my oldest child decided to bust a violin string. I think she did it on purpose because she wanted to quit violin, but I was determined to get it fixed. I found strings on Amazon and almost bought them. Before I did I realized I didn't know the first thing about changing violin strings. Lanier is packed with musical equipment. It was a little overwhelming. I must have had that deer in the headlights look because after a few minutes someone walked up and asked what we needed. They had the string in stock and were able to change it out pretty quickly. I remember thinking it was more expensive than ordering online but I gladly paid knowing it was done right. If you need something and have no idea what it is, Lanier will hook you up.

The entire staff here is very friendly and the front desk staff were very thorough when we initially requested information. They have adapted well to our new world of Covid making sure all students and teachers wear masks and/or face shields and limiting the number of people in the waiting room. When our family had Covid, our daughter was still able to attend her lessons virtually. They have also offered both virtual and on-site recitals for the students to showcase what they have learned. We really loved the on-site recital as well as the adjustments made to ensure Covid regulations were followed. We drive from Slidell weekly for our daughter to attend her lessons and feel it is well worth it.
