Even if you're not interested in the history of telegraphs, I recommend checking out this museum. It's centrally located, it's free, and it's gorgeous inside. The building features pink marble - I repeat, PINK MARBLE - columns and an elegantly painted ceiling, and houses an impressive collection of communication instruments and systems from previous decades.
