Despite calling itself an 'ale and wine bar', Muse is foremost a restaurant, and it's rare that you'll see drinkers in here who aren't waiting for food, eating or just having eaten. That's a shame really, as the bar here features the same good selection of ales and continental beers present in Arcadia and Bar T'at, the other Leeds pubs in this small local chain, and it's full of nooks and crannies ideal for curling up in with a pint. Considering however that they do seem to market themselves as more restaurant than pub, I found it quite shocking that on a recent visit not one of the eight sandwiches and paninis on offer on the lunch menu were vegetarian. Not even a cheese and pickle in sight. When I asked, the staff were more than happy to put something together for me, but I feel that in this day and age we should have moved beyond the point where non meat eaters have to ask before their dietary requirements are taken into consideration. read more
