If you haven't yet heard of trulli, I suggest a google search ASAP because these humble abodes are anything but ordinary, it was a dream of mine to sleep in one and on my 30th birthday, my boyfriend surprised me with a trip here to sleep in a trullo for the weekend. There are quite a few options for staying in a trullo, even outside of Alberobello. I do recommend staying here because it is a nice town that has a sort of magical ambiance to it. The people with shops around the area were super nice and full of jokes which I can appreciate. Our trullo was owned by a nearby shop and was probably the most romantic little place I have ever set eyes upon. Everything was renovated and modern, including a very beautiful bathroom with locally-made towels. Everything about it was amazing, the tiny kitchen, the absolutely charming bedroom that looked out of a movie. There were two terraces, one outside and private, and one where we had breakfast brought to us every morning (think local foods like panzarotti, olives, croissants with creme, melon, watermelon, cheese, fruit, cappuccino - everything was incredible). The outside of the trullo was covered in flowers and near a big garden where they picked fresh fruit and left in our rooms, they also gave us bottles of water in the mini fridge which was a really nice touch. I honestly really didn't want to leave this place, it was one of the experiences I've had in Italy.

The location, inside this grotto in the town of Polignano, overlooks the Adriatic Sea. The menu, is prix fixe and you can choose among a few. Wine can be by the bottle or paired (we chose by the bottle). Children are only admitted until the 6 pm dinner (children menu $100). Reservations (on their website) are a must. If you go to Puglia, it is really worth to have this experience.

The room was clean and had a beautiful view of the sea. I took one star off because the room was a bit hot. The air never seem to completely cool. To be fair, I visited when there was a heatwave all over Europe so I'm sure the AC was trying its best! I'd come back to stay here especially if you want to explore Bari!

Thick stone walls so quiet was inevitable! Even being on the main highway through town. Picture on website is accurate. Breakfast was basic but filling. Did not eat at the restaurant. Swam in the not heated pool which was fine. Fantastic super authentic pizzeria up the hill, within walking distance. Staff VERY helpful given I had no car, Uber had just arrived in town, I thought the wedding was walking distance...NOT. Got rides from friends. Now, to get here: I grabbed a train from Bari airport to Bari main station then a train to Fasano then a bus from Fasano train to Fasano plaza then another bus to Montalbano stop which is one block away from this Masseria. Six euros and two hours vs 150 euros by taxi and one hour. Had a blast using public transport. Met one of many wedding parties headed to Monopoli and other Puglian towns. It's a thing I guess to get married in Puglia in Fall.

Everywhere is clean as it should be! Francesco has an artistic spirit which he has reflected to the extraordinary decoration of the room(s). But there are only 2 rooms in this B&B place. Wi-fi is free and well-working. However Francesco doesn't speak English at all and checkout is too early (10 am)!
