I drove all the way from Louisville to see my dentist for my cleaning and to look at my jaw, which…read morewasn't anything major just slight discomfort. To be told to schedule for a cleaning after waiting 40 minutes to be seen 10 minutes and told I might just be grinding my teeth, maybe. The dentist who I have been seeing for awhile has never been rude to me and talked to me about what the issue could be with my jaw. It only took about 10 minutes for him to do and waiting is not his fault. Then I talked to the receptionist, Jerry I believe her name is, about how I was scheduled a cleaning to day and she said no I was not scheduled for a cleaning (even though I have been due for a cleaning); I corrected her saying I was or I wouldn't be here for nothing and when asked to schedule one for January (which I hadn't been seen all year this year) I told her no and to have a good day. Seriously, I can't because I'll be starting classes and if that is how they treat their patients than its no where near worth my time, gas, or money to drive all the way out to be treated like shit.

I had Dr Tirumala in the beginning of my pregnancy. She was very condescending towards me at the…read morebeginning. She also told me I would have to have my baby on a specific day of the week or she would not be delivering. She did standard prenatal pap testing and it came back with an abnormal result. I was already listed as high risk and at risk of miscarriage, and she demanded I come back in for immediate treatment, a surgery that is contraindicated during pregnancy. Her staff would call me multiple times a day and harass me about coming in to have surgery while pregnant. I ended up switching to Dr Courtney who was in the same practice and I never looked back. He took care of me and my son, and was the delivering doctor. This SOMC office started canceling my appointments at the last minute toward the end of my pregnancy and even after. I was delayed having my 6 week PP check and another pap by three months, and they canceled my colposcopy as I was driving into town. Because of this, we couldn't keep a close eye on my abnormal results and after Courtney left the practice, I followed him to his new office. He found that the cells had changed significantly and I had surgery just yesterday for it. I'm actually feeling great after the surgery! I will continue having Dr Courtney as my provider, as he actually takes his time, talks to, and treats his patients as people, instead of telling them what they *have* to do like Dr Tirumala did with me.
