First, I would like to say that Kim, the owner, is amazing. She does beautiful manicures, is very talented with nail designs, and is very kind. I have been going here for about a year, and although the pedicures were average at best, I kept going back because of Kim. Over the past few months, the service has gone down. First, the female doing my pedicure, somehow scraped the top of my big toe with one of her instruments, causing it to bleed and scab. That same female, on the same day, burned my face when she waxed my eyebrows. Weeks later, when I went back for a manicure, Kim wasn't there, and her husband (owner) convinced me to try another female who had just moved here from Atlanta. He told me she was just as good as Kim. Sadly, that was far from the truth. The tips of my nails were very thick, and although I showed her purple nails with pink, she painted my nails black. During my next visit, Kim fixed the thickness, and I was again happy with my nails. Because the shop doesn't take appointments, I stopped by on Tuesday this week and found out that Kim was already gone. Her husband told me that Kim worked all week from 8 AM to 2 PM. Today (Friday) I got to the shop about 8:20 AM, and was told that Kim would not be in until nine. Because there was one person ahead of me and I had a morning appointment I decided to return later in the day. When I arrived shortly after 2 PM, Kim was gone, and I was again told by her husband that she started at 8:00 AM every morning, which obviously isn't true. The only way I would return to this business is if Kim started taking appointments. read more

Educating the employees doing finger nails. My third time in a severely disappointed in full set of acrylics that cost $65. Thumb nails are different lengths, he used an almost neon pink powder, so he had to coat the end of the nails with nail color as to not show pink at the tips, and the tips are very thick and uneven acrylic. In addition, I came in and told him that I had a split nail and it was somewhat sore. He put the nail extension so close to the edge of my nail that now it feels like the nail is going to come off. I have always dealt with the owner the last two times, (Kim) and has been fantastic but this particular gentleman that wears glasses needs help with how to do nails properly. Normally, I don't like to complain, however; we were headed out of town and was not able to complain to anyone and cannot get anybody on the phone. I've been going here since high school and never had an issue when Kim did my nails but yesterday I went in and Kim wasn't there. I waited for 30 before the older lady there asked what i wanted and i said a full set. I waited for about an hour and when I get to her table and show her the picture she says "just like that, you like that?" and i was like "yes" she proceeded to file them to a very short almond shape and just do everything total opposite of what i wanted. the picture doesn't even do justice. the acrylic was way too thick, lumpy and uneven, and they weren't even the same length, the white was all smudged, too thick and wasn't even the design i wanted. she still charged me and i left and immediately went to NC Nails and she fixed them exactly how i wanted and gave me a discount for fixing them. read more

I just moved here to NC from GA, so I've been searching for a salon to come to. This is a convenient spot for me to come after long work. I got a deluxe pedicure and a full set ombré. The workers were very friendly and professional. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing even when they were kinda busy. Very nice people and pedi looked great but I have some serious concerns! When we got there it wasn't too crowded but by the time we left oeooke were crammed in there, no safe distancing and a lady was seated next to us with no mask! I realize that everyone needs to work during these tough times but this is clearly neglectful if the safety measures out in place to protect the public. In town for a few days and I decided to try out a local place for a manicure & pedicure. I walked in on a Thursday morning around 10 and there was no wait time. There were a few other ladies there but there but this salon has a large staff. I had probably the best pedicure I've had in years! It's been a couple of weeks now but I think the guy's name was David or Danny. He was great and I would ask for him if I was ever back. I had a really nice lady do a dip manicure. They have lots of polish, gel and dip colors. read more

Every time I get my nails done here I have issues. When I get the skinny young man in the ripped jeans, he only applies one coat of color. No matter who I get, my pedicure chips within a few days. When I go up the street I get a pedicure for the same price it lasts a month or two (or until I want to change colors). My biggest issue, though, is that the man who runs the place seems to keep the tips of the employees whenever he can. More than once I'd pay, then ask for $5 or whatever back in cash, and if the nail tech is not there (or sometimes even if they are) he just shoves the tips right back into the cash register. I've decided to go to a different place after watching this abuse of tips. read more

I got my nails done a week ago and they started to come up so I went back to the salon to tell them and asked for them to be fixed well as they were fixing my 3 nails I asked if they would paint them and said I would pay! Mind you I never asked for my money back!!! They told me no to painting my nails over and over with no reason why she literally told me she didn't know why! Eventually I figured out that they were refusing my business with no explanation because I asked very nicely to have my nails fixed which they did a terrible job trying to fix by the way. I was not happy I was literally shaking when she told me yes to my question of refusing my business! Next thing I know the owner starts yelling at me like losing it!!! He threw $25 at me and told me to get out or they were calling the police!! Mind you the whole time there was a girl sitting right next to me with the same problem as me but she was treated with dignity and respect and when I asked what the difference was they told me she was a good customer well what was I?? The owner truly lost his shit and they actually called the cops on me!!! The cops laughed and didn't even ask my name!!! Don't waste your time ladies I have read about 5 reviews on google that said he lost it and had gotten really mad with other customers! I have been coming to this nail salon for several years now. The owners and staff are always welcoming, courteous and friendly. They have always gone above and beyond to make sure I am satisfied. Yes, like other nail salons, sometimes I may have to wait if they are busy, but it has always been well worth the wait. The salon has always been very clean and bright, and they are quick to clean the pedicure bowls after each use. This salon is absolutely the best!! read more

Today I stopped into Murphy Nails and Toes. I walked in and wanted a deluxe pedicure. I told the gentleman what I wanted and he said ok and I went and sat in a pedi chair. I sat there for about 25 minutes soaking while i waited for a attendant. I understand they were busy. A lot of people came in after me. Finally a attendant came over and she was going to start my pedicure. I told her I wanted a deluxe. She said ok. 2 seconds later the owner told her to go help some other people that came on after me. I was upset and was going to leave. He came over and gave me a excuse that he wanted me to have another girl that would do a better job because I wanted a deluxe. I then waited another 10 min. The girl came over did my Pedi. I told her I wanted a deluxe pedi. She said ok. Omg. She finished in about 15 min. I said is that a deluxe pedi the owner said first yes and then he said oh no. I forgot to tell her. She doesn't speak English!!! I paid and left. Last time ever. Worst service and pedi I have ever had.!!!! read more

My first SNS manicure, provided by one of the gentlemen was great. At my second visit, the young lady ended my SNS by painting on gel color and top coat on top of the SNS. I didn't realize what she had done, but I did question the need for the ultraviolet light at the end. She muttered something. Well, two days later the gel was peeling and bubbling. I was out of town and it was the professional at that shop who told me what they had done. Not having learned my lesson, I returned for a GEL Manicure. The woman "manicured" my nails by shearing off the cuticle with her burr and drill. What? Then, she insisted on doing SNS. I gave in because I really needed my nails to look better for work the next day (I'm a flight attendant, and polished nails are mandatory). This nail tech ended the SBS by again topping it with gel top coat and insisted I needed the ultraviolet light. Of course, the overly thick SNS topped by gel began peeling and dulled within a few days. I question whether some of these nail techs are even licensed. The last two I dealt with were obviously lacking in training and should be dismissed. I will not return. read more
