The vault area in the back is a great area to see amazing pieces. Thrones in the main gallery are already significant. However, there are a few pieces that really caught my eye. The one that really stuck with me is back in the vault area. It is a JFK painting and it's a huge scale but so wonderfully created that I would love to have it hanging in my home. I will be back to visit during the week when less people are there. The place was absolutely crammed last night (first night).

Not only did it distract from my viewing experience, but made me question if the Dana Gallery should still be considered a front-runner in Missoula's art scene, or merely another storefront for tourists to wander through while visiting downtown? I'd never show my work at a place with such poor attention to the fundamentals of a gallery presentation. Go to Radius Gallery, right around the corner, to see some amazing art and curators who respect the space as much as the pieces. Dana is passé.
