The coating generally lasts anywhere between six months to one and a half years depending on how frequently you wash your hands and one's profession. My husband went to pick it up for me and commented how sparkly it was after being professionally cleaned. I've had the ring on for two days so far and have not experienced any skin allergies. (Knocking on wood) Patrick, the owner, is friendly and knowledgeable. He delivered the ring back within the timeframe he estimated. Highly recommend this jeweler for repairs. Recently, I needed to get my wedding band resized, so I started looking into getting my wedding ring set restored to the original and resized. The same corporate jeweler where my rings came from wanted to charge an arm and a leg and take weeks to fix the rings because they had to get shipped to a different site. Also, the sales associates were trying to get me to trade in my wedding set and buy a bigger ring. I checked with other jewelers, and they weren't being grifters, but they also gave an estimate that was excessive. I decided to visit Kings Contrivance to get an estimate for getting the wedding ring set resized, the prong of the engagement ring reset, and the center diamond replaced with a similar sized diamond. The owner was professional, knowledgeable, and straightforward as he carefully observed the rings and explained what work was needed and why it needed to be done. The owner gave me an estimate that was at least 30% cheaper than the estimates I had gotten. Plus, the estimated completion date was quicker too. He also guaranteed that that was the final price and included all costs, so there would be no surprise fees. I entrusted my rings with Kings Contrivance Jewelers, and he completed the work as promised and within the timeframe (about a week). My rings were resized and the prong and diamond were replaced. The work he did was outstanding. I'm glad that I entrusted him to fix rings that are so important to me. He got both rings looking like new. I highly recommend him and his services. I will continue to use his services in the future.

Upon reading his other yelp reviews, and their professionalism when dealing with us the first time, we decided Atlantic Gems was the jeweler to trust. Even with the Thanksgiving holiday, I received the ring back in just a little over a week, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The store is very eclectic so you have to walk around to every section. They have articles and magazines, to comics, to clothing and furniture, to collectibles of every type. They even have coins and jewelry for sell. If you are tired buying gifts from the big department stores, I am sure you can find something unique, but personal, here. The staff is very friendly and customer service is #1. I thought the prices I saw were reasonable but I am sure they are open to negotiations. If you are in the area, this is definitely a cool place to check out.

This place is HUGE. I don't know how i missed it. Or the giant antique chair that's out front for you to take pictures in. So this is like one of those antique stores where there are boothes everywhere that people rent out and basically sell and the antique store gets a small cut and they pay rent to have a booth there. There must be upwards of 40+ booths/vendors. Probably more. Everything from antique furniture, antique medical stuff, decor, you name it. I ended up getting some gifts for friends and now that I've given the gifts, I can detail them. An agate container that I thought was cool. A broach in the shape of a person (almost art deco style) but decorated in almost a Native American/Latin style. I got a set of beautiful Japanese coasters in a nice container with I believe Iris' on the front. I also got a cute little Canada themed hourglass thing. Just a bunch of random stuff where I saw it, and was like, "oh I could see this person liking this." I can't wait to go back. I spent maybe an hour or so there, but I could have easily spent more time. The people at the front were really helpful opening up glass cases to see certain items though I will say (the amount of keys and cases they have is sort of aggressive) lol. A LOT of stuff is behind lock and key. Great store though. And legit DO NOT know how I missed this.

There actually are two stores here; one handles slightly more upscale items for around $25 each. Especially for people perhaps losing weight and in an intermediate size, the price is right! Sizes are marked but definitely try things on, as they can be mismarked. Plenty of changing rooms exist, the staff is helpful and on Saturdays, donations of clothing are accepted.

One of many precious shops set in old Ellicott, this particular location -as one might guess from…read morethe name- is housed in an old bank. Originally built in 1906, the elegant little spot still has the rather charming bars on its windows and the enterprising owners have repurposed the delightful antique vault as the changing room. It's worth stepping inside just to get a look at the old vault door, carefully fixed open so you can see the mechanism and so that it can't close on a hapless shopper. The merchandise is a delightful mixture of true vintage and vintage style, with a matching range of prices so there's a bit of something for everyone. The second floor is the 'lavender shop' with soaps and so on, and a lot of handy but expendable gifting ideas. The third houses the art gallery, with some lovely pieces on view. Five minutes or fifty can easily be spent in the place, depending on if you'd like a quick peek or a lengthy perusal. I myself need to go back when I don't have an impatient sister in tow.
