They do just the right amount of pre-prep so you can do the fun part of shaping and baking the pretzels and strudel and also feel like you know enough to make pretzels at home. After the pretzels and strudel are baked, you and your classmates sit down to a lovely dinner of goulash or lentil soup plus the pretzel and strudel. You're also treated to an opera/Sound of Music performance from the of the talented staff. All that and the place is in a cave in the side of a mountain!

Johann came around to each table to assist if needed. Then he showed us the ingredients for the dough, and showed us the ingredients for the cookies (kipferl). We then roiled out the cookie dough and placed them in a special baking pan. (Small, individual "half moon" shapes) For lunch we had goulash soup, which was delicious. Tap water was served in glass pitchers, or you could pay for beer, drinks, etc. We were stuffed after the soup, strudel and cookies. Everything was great. This is definitely a 5 star experience.
