Out of business! Walked down there based on Trlp review and was disappointed it was emptied out.

This cozy little bar / restaurant serves the most delicious sandwiches (pregos in Portuguese)…read more We had the best red wine we ever tasted (Quinta dos Carvalhais) together with wonderful Portuguese sandwiches. Service was attentive and prompt, starting with the seating. We arrived without a reservation at peak lunchtime, and had to wait about ten minutes for a table.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday after a day of sight seeing and walking around Porto…read more We actually arrived at 12 noon (time it says on Yelp) but they actually opened for business at 12:15 pm. We saw the two waiters come to the street and picked up a few bags of rolls that was delivered and likely for their sandwiches they planned on serving for the day. Word about this must be going around since besides me and my wife, there were 2 other group of people waiting for them to open. Pregar is definitely a small restaurant with only 8 tables inside and 4 tables outside. Their menu was separated by language and our waitress opened it on the English menu. My wife just had soup and I ordered the Serra (Portuguese steak with cheese) on a roll. The price was just for the burger and so I added the fries which came on a dipping side (they had sweet chili, horse radish mayo, ketchup) just to name a few. We actually had the sweet chili and later the horse radish mayo to try. So the steak sandwich I had was Medium (they ask how you want it cooked and went with how the Portuguese like their steaks.) It was a simple no frills sandwich. Just steak. Melted cheese on a roll. The bread was soft and complimented the meat in a 1-1 ratio which I like. Sometimes with a burger, you have more bread with a small burger in the middle. The Serra was 12 euro and thought that was a fair price for a steak sandwich. Overall, I'd give the Serra 4 stars. Service was wonderful and our waitress was attentive and helpful with her suggestions on the steak sandwich to go with. 5 stars. Overall, it was a great lunch and we enjoyed being one of the first ones to dine that day. By the time we were about to finish, more patrons were coming in to eat. Definitely a place If you happen to be near Pregar, I would recommend to try.

The vegetarian burger caught our eye on the menu and the description sounded good so we ordered. We…read morereceived our food very quickly and even more pleased with the size of the burgers and especially how wonderful they tasted! Grilled eggplant, sautéed mushrooms, other veggies and a fried egg--Wow! They also came with a side of freshly cooked chips, crispy yet thick enough with a little chew on the inside. Highly recommend and would return! Service was reliable. Clean tables and bathrooms. Nice outdoor seating.

My wife, a part time vegetarian, was feeling low on energy so she opted for a big ole' burger and this place looked good. A couple of people outside the shop eating their big burgers got us to take a look and we are sure happy we did. This place has some real fun character. The seating outside is limited, but it is in a high traffic area so it is good for people watching. The burgers are named for the seven deadly sins, but if you eat here it is a small celebration of gluttony. They also have a menu in English if you need it. I went inside to order and there was a lovely girl who helped me out. I payed with credit card, which is clutch, since not every place takes credit card. Inside has a cool vibe to it, but it is clean. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was well stocked and clean. I had a sangria here and it was a fountain one, but still good. They add fruit to it. A server comes out with your food when it is ready. I also have to mention their potato chips which are some of the best I have ever had. They are thick cut potato chips and they are magic. I ate about 3 servings of those. Like I said you will celebrate gluttony here.
