At the time of my first examination I was in severe pain due to a deteriorated disc which I had been neglecting for years. I couldn't sit, stand or walk without pain. Dr. Tornatore adjusted my lower back and used a traction device (of her own design I believe) and today my back feels better than it has in years. I still see Dr. tornatore every other month for maintenance. I have had bad experiences with other chiropractors and had about given up on that approach. I'm glad I met Dr. Tornatore. Eric LaHue

When my hands got tired and I laid my phone down for a minute and my review dissapeared. So am not sure its even worth the pain the leave a review. I have been a chronic pain patient with Clasby for several years. I have been on pain meds since 2008. I have done injections. Chiropractor, physical therapy, and acupuncture all to no avail. My pain had continued to get worse. Before the government got its MD, and Drs were allowed to treat their patients and not operate in fear, and could uphold their oath to do no harm, I have a decent quality of life and was allowed to have the meds that relieved my pain. I had been a on oxycontin 80 2 x daily along with valium. I am 63 years old and have never flunked a drug test. My pain has continued to get worse, and I had begged Dr. Clasby to help me by giving me valium, as it was the only thing that would alleviate my carpal tunnel pain and fibromyalgia spasms. He refused. My pain was so bad it was waking me up crying. I haven't had a solid night sleep in years. So when I found a valium on my bedroom floor and I was in so much pain my son said he could hear me crying out when he was on the opposite end of the house, with my door closed and fan on, I took it and got relief. Later that week I went to my regular appointment and Dr. Clasby. They took a urine test, but I had never failed one and so was very shocked to receive a letter from him right before Christmas dropping me. He always quoted the CDC guidelines to me when I asked for a valium. Well the CDC guidelines state you shouldn't drop a patient who fails a drug test, but work with them. So he has condemned me to a life sentence of pain. How does this fulfill his DO NO HARM oath? Even the legal system gives 1st offenders probation not a life sentence. The legal system also let's you tell your side of the story, and takes into account mitigating circumstances. But not Dr. Clasby. I thought he was a kind and empathetic person. But I guess I was wrong. I wrote him a letter asking him to reconsider and abide by the CDC guidelines, but no response. He could have referred me to another pain center or at least listened to my side of the story.

It's remarkable to me that no one on Yelp has reviewed Boutin Chiropractic before now…read more When I herniated my L5 disk in June of this year, I was absolutely miserable. I enacted a comprehensive plan to recover using every tool at my disposal: pain medication, massage, physical therapy, an inversion table, traditional medicine, a cortisone injection, supine rest, and chiropractic. Of the above factors, chiropractic - and more specifically Steve Boutin - has proved to be the most indispensable. Chiropractic is perhaps the most dichotomized profession I know of. In my experience, most chiropractors are charlatans: inept and unqualified. Many of them are merely medical-field wannabes who entered chiropractic as a shortcut to a faster degree. Often, these individuals run lazy, conveyor-belt practices predicated on fear-mongering their patients into unnecessary, ongoing treatment. Unfortunately, this seems to be the norm more so than the exception. On a more optimistic note: the few good chiropractors I have met tend to be exceptionally good! I've known multiple chiropractors who happen to be Mensa-IQed polymaths, drawn into chiropractic because they are fascinated by the frontier of untapped potential erroneously dismissed by more traditional medicine. Steve Boutin is one such chiropractor. I'm an obsessively thorough fellow, and I wouldn't want someone messing with my spine unless they know precisely what they are doing. To this end, I researched every practice in the city and whittled down my list of considerations using variables such as online ratings, office professionalism, pricing, and web content. Initially, no one caught my eye above the rest. When I located online videos of Steve, however, I knew immediately that I wanted to meet him and benefit from whatever insights he might proffer about my condition. Steve oozes keen-mindedness. He is articulate, friendly, and makes a concerted effort to stay apprised of relevant scientific advancements in his field. You can sense that he is an enthusiastic, lifelong student. I went in with high hopes, and Steve still surpassed my expectations. He has been far more insightful and helpful to me than any of the specialists I've been referred to. Furthermore, leveraging his wide breadth of knowledge, Steve also manages to identify resources and solve problems which reside beyond the scope of typical chiropractic care. The cherry on top? He's adept at - and patient enough - to explain complicated jargon in layman's terms. Steve takes a genuine interest in each patient and wants to help them achieve a functional and comfortable quality of life. He never angles to squeeze money out of anyone. To the contrary: his rates are reasonable and he endeavors to treat clients as infrequently as possible. To my fellow Louisvillians: if you are beset with a spinal issue and you settle for someone other than Steve, I'd regard that as a missed opportunity on your road to recovery. I guarantee you that I'll soon be receiving private messages from other Yelpers profusely thanking me for pointing them toward Steve and the relief he's able to expedite.
