We were told we had to have a table to buy beer. I found a table and 6 chairs and most of our party were denied their purchase of beer, then the Manager asked us to leave saying the table was reserved when 4 other tables were open. We checked in at 8:00 to the hotel and were informed the restaurant closed early. There's 20 people in there currently in the manager tells us they close because they're slow. This is Thanksgiving week the day before Thanksgiving. Big travel day, and they refused service. For a chain of this magnitudeand close the restaurant an hour early is totally infuriating. It's a shame it's a nice hotel but you get such inconsistency with the restaurant here. We've stayed here over 20 times but now starting to trend away and like to stay at the new holiday in express just 15 minutes away in Trinidad. read more

Had dinner at Mulligan's last night & it was a really nice experience. We both had burgers without the buns & were happy with the juicy meat patties. The bartender (Deandra?) served us & she was very nice as well as attentive. The place was clean, beers were ice cold as they should be & the atmosphere extremely pleasant with nice music as well. We were a little nervous about coming here as we were the only people eating lunch, but I had a lovely Cobb salad. My husband had a barbecue bacon cheddar burger which he said was delicious. A top notch restaurant. I'm usually not impressed by hotel restaurants but Mulligan's is an exception. I was greeted immediately and seated by an enthusiastic employee and my waiter, Breanna showed up in just moments. She was efficient and very pleasant, checked on me often but not overly so. I ordered the sliced brisket based on a previous review and was not disappointed. Perfectly done, and tender...a little more sauce would be a nice touch but it was enough. French fries and okra sides, both perfect and all was hot. I finished my meal with a slice of bourbon pecan pie. Delish. I highly recommend Mulligan's. read more

We generally don't have good experiences with hotel restaurants but decided to come here on a local's recommendation. All of our dishes were really delicious. I give this place a FAT ZERO! I only gave it one star because I had to in order to post to Yelp. Don't come here if you're Mexican you won't be served. I have never been more insulted in my life. We were at by the hostess. Never seen another worker until we called the hostess back over to our table ten mins after we had been seated to ask for a waitress. The hostess took our drink order and brought us our drinks and told us our waitress was on her way over...well ten minutes or so later still no waitress. We finally walked out but not without complaining to the first server we saw and the response and look we got was a pretty much, "oh well, see ya...." And we walked out. This place is a joke. It may tickle the fancy of the locals but this city girl requires more than a table and chairs, I need food and service when I go to a restaurant. Stay away from this place. read more

Don't bother. Sad that such a great hotel has such a poor restaurant. Food was fair at best. Husband ordered well done burger that was rare. Coleslaw tastes store bought. I had chicken fried steak. Garlic mashed potatoes were cold and tasted and looked old. Steak was all breading and when you did get meat it was overdone and very tough. Margarita was served in a water glass. Asked for manager and was told he was really busy. They credited me $2.50 for potatoes. Waitress said she had just eaten some and they were fine. We were glad to hear complimentary breakfast will be cooked by someone else. I think a fast food burger would have been much better. read more

We ordered Chopped Brisket (decent) with fried okra & fries (soggy) & Lemon Pasta 2-one with chicken & one with salmon--both came with chicken!! The pasta received mediocre reviews. We would have liked to try this place but we stood at the parking lot entrance for exactly 5 min by a sign saying "please wait to be seated". There was another entrance from the main hotel which we viewed a couple people being escorted to a table. The waiting staff clearly saw us but apparently choose to ignore us. This restaurant is located in the Best Western Plus in Raton. The food was excellent. Expected regular non tasty food from a hotel restaurant but this was a pleasant surprise. Had pulled pork very good with tasty bbq sauce, could have 2 sides and I chose the house salad and coleslaw they offered many dressings I chose the Ranch on the side and an Orental dressing on the side to see if either were going to be good. The dressing were both excellent, could not choose between them ate half on part of the salad (which was crisp and fresh). The coleslaw was not what I expected different dressing and very tasty could have eaten more. My husband had fish and chips and enjoyed every bite. The dinner came with rolls and butter and he said the roll was fantastic. Their menu is very diverse pizza, buggers, salmon, steaks, pasta, BBQ, sides: salads, potatoes (including mashed or fried sweet potatoes), green beans, Mac & Cheese, fried okra, mixed fruit cup, small bowl of soup. I would come here again without a second thought. What a great thing to have a great place to eat at a really nice hotel. read more

Stopped here after a LONG motorcycle trip. Wife had Green Chile Chicken pasta I had the smothered beef burrito with half red and half green sauce. Both tasted authentically home made and were very spicy, which I love. Almost a perfect balance of cheese, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce to compliment but not overwhelm. I loved this burrito. Wife's meal was the green chili chicken alfredo. The chili was fresh cut from whole, roasted chilies and the alfredo sauce tasted homemade. All in al if this place was local to where we live, we would definitely eat here often. Service was good and if we are ever here again we will definitely return read more

In a small town like Raton, a really good steak is hard to find. Look no further. Mulligans is the place for you. Tender and juicy are two words that are synonymous with a steak from this place. That's not all they have to offer. The BBQ is not Texas style but okay in its own right. The Chicken fried steak was a delight. The portions are generous. The atmosphere is elegant but understated. A friendly visit from the manager to our table was a nice touch. If you are just passing through or are staying at the adjacent hotel, don't leave town before giving Mulligans a try.
