We tried several wines and ended up choosing two bottles that we loved. The Governor's Red and a Merlot. The winery has some great things to choose from outside of wine. I snagged some cheeses, wine salt, and trinkets. The vineyard is beautiful and very picturesque. Lots of picnic benches to sit on and eat or sip your wine. Will definitely be back with our picnic table cover and to catch the live music. Highly recommend for a date or a day trip. If you come on a day where the food trucks or aren't available, pack a charcuterie box or picnic bag, a little Bluetooth speaker and grab a bottle of wine to enjoy outside. The customer service continued to be good, but not what I'd call stellar. When the new manager came on board (I can't remember her name) customer service started to suffer. She always seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. She was never friendly or personable. As someone who has hosted a lot over the years, I've dropped a sizeable amount of cash in this establishment. Just today, I bought over $100 worth of product and received attitude like I've never seen anywhere else. I had questions about a store raffle they were having but she was unable to answer any questions about the details. A manager that can't tell you how a promotion or giveaway her own store is running? That's a red flag for me. Finally she disclosed that she's not part of the giveaway, that it's her supervisor's idea. She wasn't forthcoming with a way to contact said supervisor with questions. Red flag number two. She started out our conversation like she was in a bad mood, and it slowly escalated as I tried to understand through clarifying questions how she, the manager, didn't know the details of the store's promotion. I finally gave up and left, and it will probably be a long time until I return, if at all. Over the past five years I've spent quite a lot of money hosting different events, and if she's unwilling to answer simple questions without attitude, then perhaps my dollars are better spent elsewhere. There are plenty of other establishments in town that would love someone who spends freely in their store.

Hubs actually was exploring our route and discovered this place so we bookmarked it in case we had time. Both times we visited, we were kind of strapped for time so we have yet to go on the tour. They do allow for tastings of their many boozes but they limit it to 6 or 8, which is very smart. I think we did not have that many our recent trip. Since we purchased 6 bottles our first trip (they give a discount for 6+ bottles), we were already familiar and wanted to try some of their new items. Both times we visited, we brought in our dog and she received a lot of attention. They have dog toys so of course I had to buy her one each time. Now those are really expensive! The prices vary for their bottles, maybe averaging about $55. Some are cheaper and many are more expensive than that. They also sell merchandise in the same room you do the tastings. We never have time but they do free tours and I wanna say they last about 45 minutes. It is in the middle of nowhere so it's not like you can make a day out of it any stay in town, while filling up an entire itinerary for a day. We really enjoy their bourbon and keep stock of the Blueberry and Mint Julep flavored bourbons. Everyone is always hospitable when we visit and that motivated us more to support them!

Yells at employees over doing things other employees have and continue to still do. The pay is worthless for what you are doing and have to deal with. Especially after over night raising his prices yet the employees are still only paid $10/hr when every other liquor store is paying $13/hr or more and he thinks it's okay to pay that. Which is a big reason why he can never keep anybody and why there are new people all the time. . He can never stock the stores correctly so half the stuff he has is stuff no one ever buys and the main things that sell he can never order or keep in stock. Plus he accuses his employees of doing things when there is no actual proof of anything happening just because of the way the employee is acting compared to other days or what another employee is saying. If I was anybody in Hopkinsville and the neighboring cities don't ever work for him and don't even buy from his store. When liquor king, or discount liquors or all the other places have more of a selection and the prices are way better you can expect anywhere from a $2-$10 difference in the price for how much you'll save going to other stores.

I regret not getting my receipt, don't make the same mistake I did and assume the heavy set woman with a bubbly demeanor will be honest with you.
