However, the overall match experience is significantly impacted by inconsistent officiating. Too often, critical decisions vary between referees, with one official making a call that another immediately contradicts. This lack of consistency is both unfair and unacceptable, placing teams at a clear disadvantage. Additionally, issues such as time-wasting are frequently ignored, with little to no intervention from match officials. At times, it appears that officiating lacks attentiveness and urgency, which undermines the integrity of the game. While strong facilities are appreciated, fair and consistent refereeing is essential to ensuring a competitive and respectful environment for all teams. In one game, a parent had to run the makeshift scoreboard. The last two weeks, the referees provided have literally allowed kids to tackle in flag football, seriously injuring a child. When complaints were made during the first three weeks, the manager, Matt, was not at the location. On the fourth week, numerous parents complained about the poor refereeing and safety concerns, and were met with, 'people see things differently.' Since Jimmy left, this session has been horrible. Sadly, for session 2, we will have to take trips to Milford if this continues

Despite registering on time and paying the full amount (referral coupon s3friends did not work), I was not added to the mailing list and not assigned any team, and had no direction on where/how to proceed. I tried calling the numbers listed on the Facebook/Instagram pages for further information, but the calls never went through. I then reached out via email following the first week of play, but received no response. Finally, I reached out to the phone number (listed as s3 leagues corp.) on my payment receipt only to get an irritated response from the organizer asking me not to contact her on her personal cell phone. Repeated follow ups produced delayed and shallow email responses. After this entire ordeal, I was not added to the mailing list and was not notified of the cancellation during the rain out last week. I finally got fed up of such inconsideration and asked for a refund, to which I received no response. Last I checked, I have been blocked from the Instagram page for following up on the matter. This has been a terrible experience for me because at one point, I was eager to join this league and meet new people and make friends in the same manner that I did in the social meetup prior. The organizer of this group, Jessica, has proven to be incompetent, inconsiderate and disrespectful, and I would certainly not have even thought about joining this group had I known that she was the one behind the scenes.

I've been having so much fun. Going out after each game with my teammates is great. I've also gotten to know players of other team. I'm looking forward to other events that S3 is offering and next season. I know once softball comes back around I will be signing up for that, too. I also want to mention that communication with Jess has been amazing. She is very responsive to questions and concerns. Even in the beginning she made sure we all knew what was going on before games started for the season.

The product has been successful, but I believe it is only because it is the only league within 20 minutes of Merrimack Valley. The following things take away from some of the good hockey you can play in this league: The cost has always been super high ($7000 per team for 30 games). Pete once said: I want to be the highest price league because it says something about the quality of the product. The quality of the product is that: you play a team of 25 year olds one week and a team of 55 year olds the next week. There is no good parity. At one point, there were over 30 teams in the league, but it has shrunk to around 20 and this makes it hard to get teams of equal caliber and you are always playing teams outside of your division. If a team doesn't show up for you to play, Pete still expects you to pay for the game. I do not know another company that makes you pay for a service that was not delivered. If a game is cancelled during a season, he will reschedule it for you... after the playoffs are done. I have no idea why we can just play another regular season game. You pay for two refs and a scorekeeper but some times one of them does not show and you still pay for them. The winner of each division gets a neat long-sleeved mock-t... how about money off the next season, or even a couple 30 packs of beer. An $8 mock t is not a very good "prize" when compared to the $7000 payment. So... overall, the games can be good but the price is high and the owner is super frustrating to deal with. If there were another year round league, with competitive play, within 20 minutes of the Valley, I would absolutely try that.

The owner I think pays his landscapers to just hang around with their hands in their pockets because they never call anything. Its one thing to let us play but if someone does something that can cause an injury well you have to call it. We have to work in the morning and can't afford an injury. Get more qualified referees. The ones you have now Peter suck!!!
