I used Lawn Ranger for several small lawn jobs the past few years at one of our homes. Mostly…read morespring cleanups. The work they did was acceptable. But they were always bad at communicating. Communicating what they'd do, communicating when they'd do it, communicating how much it'd cost. Nevertheless, this summer I decided to ask Lawn Ranger to also periodically fertilize our lawn. Every four weeks, we agreed. However, they didn't come in July as scheduled. And they didn't respond to the emails I sent over a two week period asking them what was up. So I did the work myself. Then, without checking with me first and despite my emails, Lawn Ranger came and fertilized the following day while I was away, slightly burning my lawn. We could have gotten past this miscommunication. Perhaps I could have paid for their materials, something like that. However, that ended when I learned that Lawn Ranger CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD FOR THE WORK WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. They knew they screwed up, but decided to just charge my credit card and hope I wouldn't complain. I NEVER authorized Lawn Ranger to keep a copy of my card and bill to it as they saw fit. Plainly, what Lawn Ranger did was save my number from a prior authorized charge, and used it without my permission for the unwanted July fertilization. I complained to my credit card issuer, which promptly refunded the unauthorized charge. The credit card company then gave Lawn Ranger 45 business days to explain its side of the story, but they never did. Obviously, Lawn Ranger realized they were wrong to charge my card without my authorization and opted not to fight it. Oh, and when I politely emailed Lawn Ranger about what they'd done, they responded with a very unprofessional email full of excuses (claiming they were delayed due to rain, despite no rain having fallen), name-calling (that I was a "scam artist"), that I was "harassing" them, and that if I told anyone about what they'd done they'd sue me for defamation. Lawn Ranger's crew is capable of doing the simplest types of lawn work acceptably when they feel like it. But for those of us who also need their lawn service to be responsive and professional and to not bill unwanted work to a credit card without approval, I suggest a look elsewhere.

It is with great regret that I must update/change my review about Iron Moose Lawn Co. Up until this…read moreyear, 2026, I could count on great lawn care and customer service from Aaron and Miranda. However, this year they came up with a new service scheme for "Members Only" that most definitely benefits them and not the customer. We agreed to the "Basic" service thinking it was the same as what we were getting all along; lawn mowing only. What we didn't know was that we would be charged at the start of the month, in this case, March 31st for April, before any work was accomplished. We contacted Miranda after we were charged $294 for April's service to inform her that our yard was still deep in snow and there was no way they would be able to cut our lawn until May. She agreed to move the April payment to cover May's service, which was acceptable to us. Now the problem, the only lawn service we received in May was on the 25th. $294 for one day's lawn cutting! Naively we thought they would carry over the remaining amount of money to cover a portion on June's service, but no, on May 31st, they charged us $289 for June! On June 1st they did mow our lawn, but never did they apply the remainder of May's payment to cover June. We contacted Miranda and informed her that we weren't happy with their new payment scheme and that we would like to cancel their service and receive a refund for any unused portion of the money we paid, in this case a total of $353 out of the $583. Miranda informed us that she would process a direct deposit refund after she explained that the services now cost $80 per visit, up from the $70 we were paying. Plus, we added $70 to what we owed because they forgot to charge us for an October lawn service; $230 deducted from the $583 paid for a $353 refund. After two weeks of waiting, we still had not received a refund. When we enquired about not receiving the refund, she said she would have Aaron send us a check. That was on June 22nd. Since then, we haven't heard a word from either of them even though we've tried calling, texting, emailing, and even sending letters to both their work post office and home addresses asking about our refund. Calling is worthless as Miranda doesn't answer the phone and their voice mailbox is full. We don't know what has happened to their business, but it has definitely fallen and left us feeling like fools taken for a ride. I never knew what "Ghosting" meant, but I do now since they've obviously blocked our phone number and email address to avoid confronting us. We cannot in all good conscious recommend Iron Moose Lawn Co. As they say, "Let the buyer beware!"
