I especially love the main altar, the side altars and the shrine dedicated to St. Anthony complete with his relic. There is a 12 noon Mass in English for those looking for a daily Mass in the middle of the day. Parking during the weekday can be difficult but there is metered parking nearby.

Wow, what an absolutely gorgeous church…read more I attended a lovely wedding here over the weekend, and was blown away upon arriving. The entrance steps lead up to three large archways and as soon as you get into the cathedral it's impossible not to notice the entire place covered in beautiful, Byzantine-style mosaics. Every inch of the walls and ceiling is extensively detailed and elaborate in colors and designs. Apparently it took over 35 years to complete! It's certainly spacious inside as well, offering plenty of seating for mass or ceremonies. Additional seating is on the upper level, but during my visit it that area was occupied by the church's wonderful choir who sang for the wedding. I can't speak to the history or Serbian community that regularly occupies St Sava, but I just had to be sure to share my awe in the architecture!

The babas make homemade doughnuts that would be on your list as a last meal on earth.

Everywhere you look there is beautiful stonework, woodwork and windows everywhere that look out onto the surrounding landscape. I really hope they offer official tours of this place sometime because I would love to know more about it. Especially the Place of Nations room. It's a beautiful room with plants, trees and a running "stream". It's so peaceful and relaxing to sit in.
