This is a tough call, but their neighboring rival La Torrefazione in Kluuvi is still the best in terms of overall quality. Kuuma has the best takeaway cups though - much better than anywhere else. However, they need to try harder to reach the level of other places. Coffee is good, attitude seems complacent. Go here for excellent takeaway coffee, but go somewhere else if you intend to sit down for a more pleasurable, customer-focused experience. Kuuma = great takeout coffee, but not worth a stay.
I like it here!

I enjoyed this place! Came for dinner and all of us were very hungry. We got 3 pizzas and a salad,…read moreand let me say, there were no leftovers! Our favorite pizza was classic marinara with chorizo. The white pizza with mushrooms and truffles was lighter but needed a touch of finishing oil. For the salad, you can choose two components to add in. We choose chicken and avocado. And the avocado had some kind of great whipped texture to it. There were a lot of vegetarian options and the cafeteria style eating made it a less formal setting. Check it out!

They have some of the yummiest Irish coffees around and there is always a cheerful vibe. In two years, I have yet to eat the food but I will update when I have! Weekends and holidays are good times to avoid Carusel as the restrooms are packed and the cafe itself is overrun and crowded. I love nice quiet weekday mornings/early afternoons for working from here. Friendly, lively, and still calm enough to be able to get things done. Wifi is great and again: the views can't be beat. I strongly suggest getting there before 11 to secure a nice seat by the window.

(That's Finnish cinnamon rolls, Raspberry Vanilla custard Danish, and Tosca Danish with its wonderful chocolate drizzle and almond croquant on top. Everything is amazing and perfect with a coffee! The smell when you walk in and they're baking is what heaven must smell like! The best place to stop with a friend or by yourself for an afternoon break on the weekend or any day!

There were about 10 tables (mostly small tables but you can combine for larger groups). Very relaxed vibes. You order at the counter. If there's no seats available, take out seemed very popular here as well! We got their salmon soup lunch special and cinnamon roll, and a vanilla/raspberry danish Danish (~$4) was a fluffy cardamom brioche bread topped with a generous amount of raspberry jam and vanilla custard. It might've been a bit too much jam, but scoop some off and it was delicious. Bread was soft and fluffy. And almost melts in your mouth. Cinnamon rolls (~$4) were extra fluffy and had a subtle cardamom hit that made the rolls extra cozy. Definitely on the larger side, so id recommend sharing. Salmon soup is a Finnish specialty and perfect on a cold winters day. It came with a fresh slice of bread and butter. The soup had 3 big tender pieces of salmon, potatoes, onions, and dill swimming in a creamy fish broth. Delicious and hit the spot! For ~$15, it was a great lunch! It seems like their lunch specials change daily, but you can't go wrong with anything here!

You can't find proper bagels anywhere in Helsinki and I jumped for joy when I heard about Brooklyn Cafe for the first time. I've been there several times and every time I hope for things to have improved. The truth is that the coffee isn't among the best in town and sadly the bagels are a bit disappointing. I've had both dry and soggy bagels there, as well as ones that lacked taste. The location is good, the place is sweet and they have WiFi. The service is very nice and there's a good vibe. Loved the three tiny and colorful tables they had outside during the summer. I really hope they'll improve their offering - I'm still willing to give them a chance!

Coffee was good, the sweets were good, the prices (for Helsinki) were good. The only problem the place doesn't have a shitter, so my wife who gets the runs every time she drinks coffee, had to run 2 blocks down to a Chinese restaurant to relieve herself. The owner lady seemed annoyed as the probably gets a lot of wandering poopers from Signora Delizia. I rate this place 9/11, because it too requires further investigation..

This is dangerous since I am of the belief that if I'm a good girl at the doctor, I should get a prize. My prize of choice? The apple puff pastry and chocolate croissants. Oh MY YUM. They are featuring apple right now and to be perfectly honest, they may be going a bit overboard: I don't really want EVERYTHING to be apple-laden everyday (oops! Did I just admit I go there almost everyday?) but it's delicious just the same. My real favorites are their cookies and their chocolate croissants. The health conscious me says the croissants are a good mix between between buttery flakiness and a little chocolate. The pregnant me says PUT SOME MORE CHOCOLATE IN YOUR CROISSANTS NOW. They're still outstanding. The bread is amazing - they're now working with a local brewery to make what my husband says is an outstanding beer bread. On top of all that, it's our quaint and sweet neighborhood bakery and the people running the shop are very nice. It's both very fortunate and very dangerous that Kanniston Leipomo is located approximately 2 minutes walking distance from our house.
