sent deposit for a trained GSP early Jan 2018. Dog to be ready by Sept 1st, 2018 or before.
Asked for pictures of dog in late April 2018. Chose dog in early ay 2018. Checked in with breeder/trainer Craig Burns a number of times throughout 8 months time. Then arranged personal pick up of dog on Aug. 6th 2018. After 2200 mile trip, arrived at Muddy Creek Kennels to pick up dog.
Was unimpressed with questionable facilities upon arrival. After awhile, Mr Burns trotted out a dog that WAS NOT the one I had chosen and sat in a chair and asked how I liked it. I informed him twice that is wasn't the dog I had chosen and he finally told me that he had promised the dog to another person...NO APOPLGY after I had traveled 2200 miles. The young dog he brought out was timid and shy of everything...very under fed but had a :bird dog look" in its eyes. After seeing the dog in the field...the dog did not obey any commands by voice, whistle or training collar...but did find 3 planted quail and did retrieve them..not to the trainer, but to me.
Obvious the dog wasn't trained but had good potential. I took the dog to rescue it from a "dog farmer".
Craig Burns charged me full price for a trained dog and delivered an untrained dog. No
immunization records were on hand...no registration papers were on hand...no apologys..nothing but a unprofessional attitude. read more
