Super racist to anyone else thats not black , I swear I had a fight happen there where a black kid punched 6 Mexicans in the face while actively screaming out load that he was only aiming for mexican students due to a incident where two student where throwing a doll around the room that happend to be black, keep in mind the the doll was given to them by a teacher as a experiment the two mexican student where forced to transfer and the black kids got 2 day in school suspension soo.they also like to do this thing where they celebrate the month of what race it is in school which is only good for geting out early .during 1 of the ensembles a black girl went into the middle of the gym and announced that if your not racist get up and walk to the middle of the gym and if you where still siting you where a racist I think you can guess it was a pretty uncomfortable experiences .the teachers especially the black ones are very one sided when it comes to there student I know I had the ap history teacher when I went to school there and I could never get his attention due to him constantly focusing his attention and attitude over to 1 direction .there was 1 occurrence where I was given a lower score for giveing in my paper late which mostly isent a big deal becuase it being late was on me but was quick to find out that some student had longer leashes then others leashes that would last up to 1-2 weeks consistently, of course my peers noticed the pattern but speaking out about it was very much fround upon . After watching this show on Netflix, The Program, all I could think about was Muchin. I'm an OG mountain lion, I seen it all here. First of all, I have no idea what that school is like now, but I always find myself researching to see if there has been any light shedded on the horrible, disturbing, dehumanizing, and worse possible place to send a child. Coming from catholic/private schools, I was not prepared for what was to come at Muchin. I came in 2011-2012 and honestly my summer there before I started was actually great, me and Ms.Neal even got along, until the school year started. Ms. Neal was the worst possible principal I have ever came across. I remember she suspended me for 3 whole days for confronting someone over something petty and it didn't even happen on school grounds. Those 3 days off was a vacation THO! I had a great time off. I even came back to my locker signed by all my friends, it was so sweet. My friends at that time, kept me sane in there. The staff, at the time as well, were all scared of Ms. Neal, yet they all kissed her ass because of her strong personality type. I always thought that was weird. The moment I walked into her office is moment that I will never forget. She told me all I will ever be in life is a housewife, just like her niece who never made it... Fast forward.... 10 years later. I'm on path to getting my Master's degree in HR, I'm a home OWNER, I'm healthy, I'm confident, I'm happy, I'm educated, and I'm thriving! And looking back, she was always very much the problem, always has and and always will. I hope the students at Muchin currently, are getting a happy and healthy education they deserve! Questionable staff, rules, acceptions, and even food. 10/10 would not recommend. Makes me sad.

My niece went to this school for 2 years. The discipline is insane. When asked to use the bathroom because of her monthly cycle, they would not allow her. She had accidents because of it and we were told by the teacher that she should bring extra clothes to change into! That was their answer! So, she had to take a detention just to use the bathroom when it was that time of month! Also, she was in an car accident and the doctor wrote a note to dismiss her from gym class since she had a neck injury. They still made her go to gym class. That was the last straw! We pulled her out and put her into another school. Some of the staff has big heads and because of the discipline, they think they can say or do what they want. They charge fees for detentions and if you go for detention, not fun as they push strenuous physical ed on you. My niece was in tears from the strenuous exercise pushed on her. I must say, though, that the curriculum is much more advanced than regular CPS schools. She transferred over to another CPS school and graduated one year early because she only needed a few credit hours since they push really hard at Muchin. Everything that was stated in the review above is 100% accurate! I would like to bring to light the staff handling of students and parents at the Noble Street Charter Network High School. Their Military like handling along with intimidation methods to both parent and students. Excessive stress to the kids resulting in lack of focus on education. Several parents consensus of being left with no other option but to have their children remain at the school. It's the firs week for my child and it's unfortunate that I've experienced the unprofessional staff left to seek enrollment for my child elsewhere. I can sit here and write a million stories on why I think Muchin should change their disciple policy, but first I'm going to start with the positive. I cannot speak for all noble schools, but Muchin really helped me with my knowledge. Their academics excelled and I was learning like never before. I had wonderful teachers who took the time to stay after school to explain to me what I didn't understand. Now, let's get to why Muchin only earns one star. Ms. Neal, (the principal) is very, very rude. She is probably the worst person to deal with there. She is not understanding. Ms. Neal always wants students to be professional, but she herself is far from professional. You can expect rude side comments and conversations with her. Are you a student, teacher, or parent? Does not matter. Everyone can get a dose of Ms. Neal. I myself had made plenty of complaints to the superintendent of Noble charters, with no actions taken. The most important quality I missed out on was speaking. If you had an opinion about school policy, it were to stay outside. Students have no voice here. No freedom. Students do not work with staff to make the environment healthy and happy. Staff run the school. What they say, goes. Expect disrespectful staff members and callous comments from them. I myself tried to start an LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) support group and I was told it can happen with a few changes. I had to make it a "No H8" club. This can include everyone that gets bullied at the school. Ms. Neal did not understand the concept of students scared of being in the closet. I wanted to create a safe place for those types of students. I failed to do so because I did not meet her requirements. I did not feel safe because of the environment the staff portrayed. I do not mind the work load, the test, the preparations for ACT. What bothers me was that Muchin took away my freedom to speak up. Thankfully I transferred to another school who encouraged me to speak up against injustices. If it takes me the rest of my life to get Noble to change their discipline policy, I will. I want students to feel comfortable at their high school. I want students to come to their principal without fear and be able to criticize and speak without harsh punishments. If you send your child here, be prepared to get an earful of Ms. Neal's stories. There are so many injustices in this school. Your child can benefit from the academics, but will stress out from the amount of discipline they will endure. No school is perfect, but there is always room for change. read more

So today I had a call with two members of the administration in regards to the school's policy on restroom passes for the students. I was inform by the administration that the sophmores were issued one restroom pass per quarter and that, other than that, if they don't use the restroom in between class(4 min allotment) , or during their lunch break, they would be given detention or demerit-ed. So, correct me if I am wrong, but is this not a College prep high school. I don't recall there ever being an issue of getting up to use the restroom in any College setting that i have been in. Unless they are preparing our children to work the assembly line,(which in this day and age is going to be extinct) the 4 min allotment to use the restroom is unacceptable. The only effect of this policy is to create anal-retentive students who are in fear of using the restroom. read more

Muchin College Prep is a choice school. Parents who are not happy with the school are free to take their children elsewhere. I am very satisfied with the education that my child received at Muchin. She graduated, received a full-scholarship to college, and loves the staff and leadership very much. If your child is well-behaved then Muchin is an awesome environment. If your child is not, Ms. Neal won't allow disruptive parents and students to prevent our children from learning. I appreciate her for that. read more

This school is horrible. We now have a new principal Ms. Mason. Their discipline policy is insane. I've had 4 detention in my first week and not because of bad behavior or homework. I came there to be good academically not to be in a Military school. I'm pretty sure they messed up my record and I'm doomed to get into another good high school or college. I hope they get closed down. Sending kids to this school is like sending kids to a Military school for bad behavior or boot camp. The thing is I'm not a bad student at all, so I'm so mad. I wanna transfer but my guardian says It's my fault I choose this school and I have to wait until next year. I'd rather go to Corliss or CVS than here. Hello everyone, I am an alum from Muchin College Prep's graduating class of 2015. I'd like to briefly share my high school experience and give you my perspective on what Muchin has done for me both academically and socially. Entering high school, I was very nervous and intimidated. Starting this new chapter in my life was nerve wrecking due to not knowing what to expect and transitioning from a small pond to a big lake. In terms of the discipline system, it was taken very seriously, and I was scared. The discipline system is very strict,however, it is not as extreme as it seems. I learned that as long as you are responsible, respectful, and timely, you will not have a hard time with the disciplinary aspect of the school. I went all four years without receiving one detention, so it is possible as long as you do what you have to do. Another thing that I admire about Muchin was the enforcement of community service. A reoccurring life lesson that I learned was that this life consists of give and take. Volunteering helped me build strong connections with people from different communities and it made me feel great to give back to communities that are less fortunate than mine. Academically, I can not thank Muchin enough for helping me realize my capabilities and achieve beyond my goals. Coming into high school, I was not strong in anything math related due to a weak foundation. I started off in Algebra and with the help of motivated teachers, I ended up in AP Calculus my senior year which is the highest level of math class you can graduate with. I can honestly say that these teachers are extremely dedicated, motivated, patient, and loyal to their students.These teachers stay many hours after the school day is over, helping students and instilling that extra "academic push" that one may be lacking. I am currently an uprising sophomore at DePauw University. If it was not for Muchin instilling that self-motivation and confidence that I never knew I had, I do not know if I could have made it this far or have been this successful with my college career thus far. Muchin College Prep is a home away from home and has such an amazing support system. It helped me develop into a social butterfly and led me to making friends and amazing relationships with the staff that I know will be there for a lifetime. read more

Muchin college prep is an amazing school with awesome staff and students. My three youngest children attended the school and the results were remarkable. Two are in college and one will graduate in 2017. Yes, the curriculum is challenging and the discipline has hints of boot camp but not to the extreme. The children feel safe in there environment which allows them to concentrate on their studies and that is important for a successful high school career. I never in the five years of interacting with the staff have ever had a bad experience or conflict. We are blessed to have such school that teaches our children to be respectable, intelligent and responsible. Muchin college prepares our children to be productive adults. My two oldest daughters went to parochial school and they wished there was a school like Muchin for them. It would have given them more opportunities for college. The only great thing about this school is their ACT preparation starting in Freshmen year otherwise, they have the most Ghetto and unprofessional Founding Principal I have ever witnessed. The way she talks and interacts with her staff and students is just unbelievable. I have had the "privilege" of witnessing her interaction and hearing how she puts down the students, embarrasses them and even yells at parents and it is just mind boggling how she remains in that office. Also, their book and record keeping in this school is extremely incompetent. For three years I have been told I owe a bill, at every report card pick up, that I already paid. I have had to learn to take every receipt from them to every report card pick-up because of thier incompetence. There has not been one year or one time that they have not told me I owe for something I already paid for. And the way that they threaten demerits and detentions for even looking at someone funny (that is how ridiculous the rules are there)...you can't even sneeze the wrong way without getting a demerit or detention. Thankful that my child is leaving that hell hole with all the stress that "military school" has given them. My daughter attends muchin she is a senior. The principal has the most nasty attitude and very unprofessional she gets her hair done in her office have students go outside to get her lunch. All the teachers fear her. Mrs. Neil had a meeting with all the seniors and had the kids that wasn't allowed to attend prom or graduation stand in front of their peers so everyone would know and to shame them. So many Teachers are leaving after 1 year and when Mrs. Neil found out that one the Teachers was leaving she took her advisory class away from her. She told a student why do you need to get an internship you don't need the money you get a check because your mom is dead. When the school take the kids on a trip they take the kids cell phones so they can't talk to their parents they tape the bedroom doors. The student don't have any rights once they go inside the school. If your child is sick or disabled it will go against them. For graduation they are giving the students 4 tickets for free and if you need more 50.00 for each tickets. Mrs. Neil and Ms. Simmons and 3 or 4 others teacher that is part of a click. Even though there have been many,many,many complaints about the school admin and Mrs. Neil nothing have come about because the kids test high. Some of the teachers are very good and help the kids. Muchin have good networking so the kids get to travel. They get on the kids facebook page and if the kids talk about or like a status of someone that is going against the school they get punished. My child attended Muchin College Prep her freshman year and each day she would come home crying. It was to the point I no longer wanted to take her to school. Teachers called students degrating names and zip tied students to chairs. My child absolutely loved school before going to this school. We are so thankful we were able to transfer her out of Muchin and into another school. All Muchin kept saying is that "by sophomore year it gets better'. I think that's because they have the students brainwashed by then. My child never had discipline issues and maintained a high GPA while at Muchin. I feel extremely bad for the students that attend that school that don't have a support system at home or have no other option but to remain in Muchin. Lastly, whenever I visited Muchin the staff and principle were so unprofessional when they spoke. If they want learn students to learn how to speak in the professional world perhaps they should take a course. Now I understand why they do not allow shadow days. I sincerely feel the staff is emotionally abusing these children while they are at Muchin and have considered getting involved with other parents to bring a lawsuit against the school for emotional harrassment. I am a senior at Muchin College Prep, so I can comment on the attributes and downfalls of my school. Muchin is a strict school- one can receive demerits for using the bathroom, being late, uniform infractions, or even talking back. However, this strict attitude students is what provides stability to students whom stability is not available at home for. Furthermore, you will never hear about a fight or bullying in my school, staff work hard to ensure the safety of my peers and I. I will admit the school is hard to handle, but we have adopted the saying "If you can survive Muchin, you can survive anything." High school is preparation for life and COLLEGE. Muchin ,specifically, is a COLLEGE PREPARATORY HIGH SCHOOL. The fact that intelligent adults life your selves cannot realize that in college leaving to use the bathroom or arriving late can be the difference between passing a test or failing and wasting thousands of dollars. Muchin has a method to their madness, the four years I have spent at Muchin have been for the best. I have hated homework, detention, and the expectations held by staff, but I am now prepare for a success. Every high school has good and bad kids, but that is not the schools fault. Quejuan Henley was a smart young man who mad a bad decision. His crime was committed AFTER graduating from Muchin. So, why is he still being connected to my school. After he received his diploma his connection was severed. In conclusion, I would just like to state that Muchin is a academically rigorous school that prides itself on expanding the horizons and beliefs of its students.
