Have not moved in yet but Jillian has made this process so easy and wonderful! Even before moving in I can tell this place and its management is stellar! They worked with us so much and the service was outstanding. I will move I to our home in august, but I can already tell this is a place that truly cares! My niece lived here for years and had nothing but 5 star reviews! We are very excited! read more

Useless property manager and dirty apartment upon move in with damage that was not fixed from previous tenant. Dirt and grime in the closet on the shelves, the bathtub was dirty with soap scum and previous tenants filth. Paint on the floor that was not cleaned up by maintenance while "renovating" Neighbors smoke cigarettes inside and stink up the hallways and my apartment. Maintenance guy is a weirdo who goes into your apartment without a work order and when caught says "I don't know what apartment I'm supposed to be fixing" read more

I lived at their somewhat recently purchased Kalamazoo property, absolutely horrendous. They failed their city inspection multiple times in a row (shocker they never fixed anything that got flagged) and essentially left us to fend for ourselves. Pretty much every maintenance request we submitted was left ignored, If me & my roommates weren't as resourceful as we were, we would've been living a hellish dump by the time our moveout date came around. MTH property managers operate with such a high level of autonomy that if yours doesn't want to do anything, the home office in Lansing can't do much about it. Our property manager was an absolute wretch who ghosted us for over a month after our move-out, essentially holding our security deposits hostage. If you're looking for a place in Kalamazoo, look elsewhere, there are much better companies you can rent with for essentially the same price. read more

Mth Management - Roaches from that time our townhouse got infested and MTH dragged their feet (overstatement) doing anything about it. - Property Management Near Me - East Lansing, Michigan

Where do I even begin? My experience renting from this company has been a nightmare since my move in day. During my move in day the office was closed all day with no notice. I found out the next day that the property manager had an emergency, that is fine life happens, but I was I given no notice and no direction on how to get my keys. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of anyone within this company. Phone calls go to voicemail and the directory is inactive, emails go no where. I got a very bad feeling about the property and asked for the lease to be dissolved. I was put in contact with the regional manager of the property, Vikki. Vikki was less than helpful. Infact, Vikki is incredibly rude and unprofessional. I do not know why someone like her is in property management, as it is clear she has no empathy and thinks of the tenants as just money bags. She did not address any of my concerns and gaslit me our entire conversation. She shifted the blame of the lack of communication to me while simultaneously not acknowledging the failing of MTH to be reachable by their tenants. Vikki's only resolution was a week's credit. A week's credit. A week's credit does not make up for the time and money lost not being able to move in during my pre-shecuduled move in day. So now, I have my keys. The nightmare does not end. I start to move into my "cleaned" and move in-ready apartment, everything is fine except for the kitchen. The kitchen was a disaster. Fine, I went to disinfect it myself as I have a very high standard for cleanliness. I found dead German Cockroaches high above in the cabinets where I could not see during my tour. I am praying that they are from a previous infestation and am hoping to get my apartment treated immediately, but given that MTH does not care about its tenants in the slightest, who knows if that will happen. My experience from renting from MTH has been nothing but traumatic. My depression and anxiety have been triggered to the point where I am having an episode every day. Besides cleaning, the only other thing I have done in my apartment is break down and cry on the floor, which further triggers me as I am now scared cockroaches may crawl on me. I fear I may be developing PTSD from my experience. I never would have thought that bringing in a step-stool to investigate all cabinets for roaches was a necessary thing. DO NOT RENT FROM ANY OF MTH'S PROPERTIES. If you are like me and considering one of their properties due to budget, DO NOT APPLY. There is a reason why the rent is cheaper than the market average. I knew I was rolling the dice renting from a budget complex, but I never would have thought it would be this catastrophic. read more

Unprofessional and they do not take care of their properties at all. They never answer the phone so you can never talk to a live person about any issues. The value isn't there. There are massive holes on the sides of the buildings allowing water to get in that they won't fix. This is causing mold to build in the walls of the buildings. If you value your lung health do not move in to these apartments. read more

MTH manages my rental property. To say they are managing it is a complete overstatement. Their lack of response to an emergency situation this past weekend is deplorable. It is unjustifiable that a 80year old tenant whose furnace fails has to go without heat for the entire weekend. Monday comes and still no reply to calls since it became apparent that the furnace failed. There are managing responsibilities for this company just as there are tenant responsibilities. This lack of response unfortunately has applied to all aspects of this company in providing a respectful rental experience. read more

Looks nice. Homeless people live in the parking garage and stairwell during the winter. The elevator doesn't go to the ground floor for 3 months now. Elevator just doesn't work now. No security. key fob not necessary. Doors in stairway to each floor not locked, elevator can't be called to ground floor even with key fob. and door from open garage to stairwell doest work with key fob. You just have to kick it and it opens. very trailer park. Showers have no sidewall and shower curtain rods are too high so water goes all over the floor. Microwave is 800 watts and stove temperature doesn't represent real temperature. Looks good but not functional is the name of this place. If you enjoy taking the stairs every time then you will enjoy this place. read more

MTH Management are SLUMLORDS and EXTREMELY unprofessional. They're units are filthy and they lie on tenants to make themselves look better. They don't repair items then lie and say they have completed. They have put my friend through hell. She lives in a basement unit that flooded right when she was going to move in. They claimed the flood damage had been repaired, but the unit is still dank. Not to mention all the stairs are off track and literally falling off the balcony!!! I don't even live here but my family does!! Single mom that don't have the means to be able to pick up and move!! I live directly behind The Park on 13, a property managed by MTH Management. For the past two weeks there has been a high pitched ring coming from one of the vacant buildings that I, and my neighbors, can hear when we're outside or have our windows open. There are clear signs of construction happening within the complex so I called the property manager, Jonathan, requesting someone please locate and disable whatever is causing the sound. Jonathan told me he would be on site the next day and would check it out. The ringing is still happening so I called the main office for MTH Management and was greeted by an incredibly rude woman on the other line. She cut me off every time I tried to explain the sound, the property location, and why I was calling. Because she didn't listen to anything I was saying, she told me they didn't manage that property (you can see a property listing on THEIR website here: https://www.mthmgt.com/listings/detail/b16d50b4-2583-4e26-a639-9b3135c35497) and there was nothing she could do because she was in East Lansing (obviously). I'm writing this review as a forewarning to anyone interested in a property managed by MTH Management so that you have an understanding of the kind of customer service and communication you'd have to look forward to. 0/10 recommend. read more

One star is to much for this company. They do not care about you once you move in. Moved in to à dirty yet upgraded apt to only be transferred into asmoke infested apt thàt was nasty and smoke filled. Moldy fridge uncleaned but charged a cleaning fee. No screens in the windows, heat always went out, no oven for over 6 months leak under sink that went unattended. I put in multiple maintenance requests that got opened and closed without sending anyone. The property manager Rachelle Finch is as competent as a paper bag filled with water. And maintenance haha that's funny you won't get anything accomplished. DO NOT RENT FROM MTH managnent ever it's not worth the headache. read more

if i could give them negative stars I would. This company is a joke, when I first moved in there was a problem in my bathroom that they refused to fix then blamed my 2 year old daughter for peeing on the walls which in fact there was smoke bleeding through the walls from the previous tenant I was pregnant at the time there was no way I was smoking in the bathroom. Rachelle doesn't answer the phone and when she's available she still doesn't answer. there were multiple times that she just thought she could let me know that there will be people in my apartment without 24-hour notice. it would be the morning of, and they would be there. I have tried to complain to her higher up and they seem to not care. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. read more

This company is the absolute worst. I liked living in my place for the most part, probably because I almost never had to deal with the management. The one time I let maintenance come in, they let fleas in and that was a nightmare for myself and my pets. The property was initially owned by Ancora, and then it was bought by this company a few months after I moved in. So there was a transfer for the deposits of course. Somehow that made it show in our ledgers that there was a balance for the deposit amounts in the new accounts, since they were in the process of this money transfer. These idiots literally sent out past due notices to every single tenant at my complex saying they owed this money. In this letter is a threat to evict. Yes, really. No excuse for this. So it was off to a bad start, and even worse at the end. Do not e-mail these people because they will claim to only get half the e-mails, as if an e-mail address can be half broken. They purposely sent my security deposit to my old address, so I had to wait weeks for it to forward. They claimed not to have my new address, even though I had proof I gave it to them. They charged me for 5 days I did not even live at my place and it took me 4 months to get it back, almost had to take it to court. The supposed manager Lori claims I didn't even give notice, then I send them proof that Rachel not only got my notice but responded to the messages. I have given them my new address no less than a few times, and Lori STILL purposely sent the rest of my deposit to my old address so I again would have to wait weeks for it to forward. They are either completely incompetent or they lie a lot. So glad to never have to live in an MTH property again. If you need to contact them, send it to Facebook, where it shows it was read and they cannot claim not to get the messages and/or certified mail that requires a signature. read more

I've lived in my apartment for 7 years total, in the last year this piece of garbage company has come in and upped the rent (sneakily) every 6 months because they want my physically and mentally ill mother and me, a mentally ill trans man to move out so they can charge even more for a crappy apartment that they have not renovated once in the time that they have owned it. The company sends out people who can't take responsibility for the immoral and inhumane things they do to people. They don't call when rent does not go through, and take any chance to screw you over without seeing you as a person. Do not move into any building owned by these CAPITALIST PIGS. read more

Hire more people you psychopaths! Having 1 person manage 4 or more apartment complexes does not work. Ya'll make enough!

Management is the worst in East Lansing. They don't respond to maintenance request for up to a month. The building managers rarely answer the phones and will ignore multiple phone calls to communicate ABOUT BUSINESS/MONEY via text message. Apartment complexes are not updated or reflect the amount of money you pay for month. Some of the apartments are being remolded but for the hassle you experience with the maintenance company I would NEVER recommend anyone to lease with them. read more

They get a one, because you can't rete them zero or a negative number. Fraudulent charges against debit cards, clam they can't research or check if their charges are correct or even legitimate. I am a former resident of Holly village apartments. My initial lease was not through MTH but was transfered mid lease. I moved out of the apartment February 25th 2022. It is there apparent "policy" to refund security deposit checks within 31 days of move out. That would mean that my check would have been sent out at the latest by the end of March. I began to call the office to see what what going on and when they sent it the women said that it was sent out March 29th and I should have received it the first week of April. The first week of April came and went and still no check. I became concerned and called again. The women acted concerned and said if I don't get it after the holiday call back. Still no check. At this point I felt like it was never even sent out, I call and ask would it be possible for them to cancel the first check and send a new one. She said yes but they will charge me 30 dollars for canceling the check. At this point I told her that I feel like I'm being ripped off. It's not my fault that the check hasn't shown up after 3 weeks. She said she would no longer be speaking to me and that I can call the accountant. I continued to call everyday for a week with no response. On April 22nd I emailed the property manager telling her I will file in small claims if this does not get resolved and that I want proof of the check being sent out. She replied saying that she had forwarded the email to the corporate office and that she was no longer involved in my case. Yesterday April 27th my check arrived. It was stamped and dated April 22nd. So the day I threatened to sue them was the day my security deposit was sent out. Huh? And no charge of 30 dollars for sending a second check. Sneaky sneaky. Now, they docked 200 dollars for writing on the walls, which I will be disputing because I guarantee the writing is in crayon and would have come off with a magic eraser. The company is dishonest and tried to keep my whole security deposit in the name of telling me it was sent out. read more

By far the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Maintenance requests are ignored and management clearly doesn't care at all about their tenants. This company took over my building a few months ago in the middle of my lease, and I wish I would have been able to move out before then. I have been dealing with the same person every time over the phone and over 5 times I have heard that she is "not responsible" for maintenance requests... yet she won't direct me to the person who is. If I could give zero stars, I would. Horrible customer service, and extreme lack of communication. We applied back in August. Kaiyla told me she needed proof my brother is working. We moved up to Lansing this month, and he got a job, so I submitted an email with his proof of income to her AND the main office. Radio silence from her. I had to call the main office and they called her to see what was going on. She told me after I texted her several times that she never got the email. I showed her proof of my sent emails. She still denied getting them. She basically called me a liar. This is an awful company. I am thankful they didn't approve us. because if they are this horrible about a simple application, I cannot imagine how awful they would be about fixing things in the apartment. Take heed of these reviews. Worst company I have dealt with in a long long time. Slumlords. Look at the pictures people have submitted on here. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. read more

MTH Management recently took over operations at our building. They have done an incredibly poor job managing the transition. It took several days for them to inform residents of the change. We were unable to pay rent on time due to this. It took several requests for them to distribute an official letter informing residents, and when they did, they offered no direct means to contact a manager of any sort to address resident concerns. They were no proactive in setting up a new online portal for us. Again, it took many requests to get them to take action. They do not take resident concerns very seriously, tend to shift blame for any and all problems to residents and do not respond in a timely manner, or at all, to resident concerns. They do not answer their phone and do not respond to emails. MTH Management should be avoided at all costs. Many former and current residents would agree as evidenced in numerous poor reviews that align with the bad experience I've had to date. MTH took over our building. I had no choice in the matter. I can say that I would never choose to live in a building that is "managed" by MTH. I encourage you to look elsewhere, or at the very least, carefully consider in light of the numerous complaints about this company and their employees. Buyer beware! read more

They are the WORST management company. No one answers the main phone or email, nor do any messages get returned. The maintenance barley fixes anything if they ever show up at all. They do not care one bit about tenants and all of their properties are grossly under cared for. This is by far the worst possible place I have ever lived. Management and owners have absolutely no communication at all with each other. We were told we allowed dogs, then the first time the owner came around he wanted to see their service papers(which is fine, I had them). But they are currently kicking people out because of dogs, that they were told by management they could have! They try to over charge, thinking you won't see it.
