This station is conveniently located near multiple buses that will take you to places like Bay…read moreRidge and UA Theater. There are a ton of lights here, especially at night, which makes it feel relatively safe. Plus, people are always in this neighborhood as it is filled with lots of places to hang out. It has two exits - one to all the buses, and the other side closer to the Belt Parkway. It is great because you can exit that way and be close to the bay. It's also great to get off and walk a few blocks if you're heading to Manhattan Beach. The Q/B are great- especially the Q, rated #1 train in NYC again for this year. The B is great if you're in a rush, as the B will usually wait for the Q to catch up so all the people on the local track can run over and catch the express. The station itself is kinda of dirty and mucky, but totally understandable as it is still a public space that a ton of people pass by everyday and the MTA has better things to do with their money. When I come out of the exit by 15th street, I wouldn't necessarily say I feel safe as there are a lot of homeless people who beg for change, but there are also a lot of religious groups handing out fliers and a lot of the green taxi cabs waiting for people to request for them. This station is still great in my opinion as it is offers a lot to the Sheepshead Bay community like transportation that is quick, with a view.

Outside fare control, this station's modern, long Mezzanine has amazing public art that I particular find beautiful and uplifting. In 2019, the MTA installed the +90-year old, native New Yorker, multimedia figurative artist Alex Katz's large painted glass panels entitled "Metropolitan Faces." These simplified, bold portraits and floral sections are more than welcoming. Against uncluttered, flat backgrounds, facial expressions and often a fresh, interspersed orange/mango/yellow palette allow all Katz's subjects to pop and bring warmth easy to connect with. Wow! There are escalators that take down to each level. There are also elevators but keep in mind it isn't a direct stop to the tracks or the street. The level right below the street, there are some stores and vendors and rest rooms. The level below that is the waiting area with screens to tell you which track you need to go to for your train. Keep in mind there are no seats at that level. The tracks are then another level down. It's a bit of walking but it's convenient if you use the LIRR and it's clean and still feels brand new.

This subway stations is within mere walking distance from Central Park and Columbia University. The 1 train is local via Broadway. There are two entrances - Uptown and Downtown - no underground passageway or overhead passageway to connect as straphangers would have to go to street level and enter with either OMNY or MetroCard. This area is a popular tourist known for sites as Cathedral of St. John the Divine and Tom's Restaurant where the exterior was used for filming the television sitcom "Seinfeld." I have a predilection and really admire the original name tablet green-and-white large mosaic wall tablets with the name "CATHEDRAL PARKWAY" as it is beautiful artwork. I admire these mosaic tiles artwork as it reminisce an old world era of the period when the subway was constructed. The pilasters are adored by blue faience mosaic plaques with the number "110", surrounded by motifs of wreaths as another original ceramic cartouche. Nota Bene: There are two (2) subway stations name MTA - Cathedral Parkway 110th Street. The other is located in Upper West Side and Morningside Heights at Frederick Douglass Boulevard that serves B, C and A trains.

Make sure you are getting on the correct side of the platform depending on where you're going.check the schedules as not every line stops here. There are ticket kiosks and an indoor waiting area. It's alway better to get your tickets before you get on the train. This is usually the first or last stop before or after Penn Station. Easy ride.

Dont forget about the amazing looking architecture that really makes for some awesome scenery and a good back drop for taking pictures. This station has to be one of the most nicer looking station in nyc .very historic and if you are in to old infrastructure this is a place to visit. Some say this is a good thing, but I lean towards saying it can be annoying. Say you entered the station right when a train just let out a bunch of people. It's like you are one guppy swimming against a whole school of fish. I hate when that happens. Also, the wind can pick up like crazy in the corridor, messing up your hair and getting crap in your eyes. I hate that, too, but I digress. In short: The 9th Street PATH station is conveniently located, but small and inaccessible for people with mobility issues.

I have taken it so many times over the years and today I used it again to head to Brooklyn. The trains come often and it is one of those stations where you never feel like you are waiting forever. I like that it has elevators, escalators, and stairs because it makes getting around simple no matter what you need. The station feels safe every time I am there. There are always people around, from commuters to families to tourists passing through. The area is full of visitors because there are so many NYC attractions nearby, so it never feels empty or isolated. The neighborhood around it is lively with Battery Park, the Statue of Liberty ferries, the Charging Bull, and the whole Financial District right there. It is clean, bright, and easy to navigate, and it has become one of the stations I rely on the most when I am moving around the city.

The station features rotating display of photographic artwork! It showcases rarely seen views of the MTA bridges through illuminated lightboxes in the mezzanine. There are a variety of routes that runs through the MTA - Bowling Green Subway Station 4 Train - runs all times, stopping at Bowling Green on its way between the Bronx and Brooklyn 5 Train - Runs all times except late nights. On certain late nights, the 5 does not serve Bowling Green, where the services ends at the Brooklyn Bridge City Hall This is a great station, and it's right next to the Staten Island Ferry!
