I just had my wedding here yesterday and am still in awe of how smoothly it went and how beautiful it was. We chose to go with a Pop Up wedding package. It included sooooo much and made wedding planning a million times easier. The package included the use of both rooms - reception and hearth room. It included catering, cake and cupcakes, officiant, wedding planner (Janna), DJ, and your choice of decorations. It CAN include your flowers too, something I chose to do and they were beautiful! You cannot beat the price anywhere. The venue itself if gorgeous! I am in live with the hearth room and am so glad we were able to have the ceremony in there. It is a HUGE stone hearth that takes up moth of the wall. They have it decorated gorgeously with lanterns and garland. The reception room is huge and has a nice stage. The tables and chairs all get decorated and looked amazing. It is very classy. There is also a very nice bar area if you choose to get a bar package. It is all stone and wood. There is a beautiful outside area to get married and/or take pictures. They have a great bride room with its own toilet, lots of mirrors, and seats. The restrooms are very nice and large so people can change clothes is needed. I don't think you can find a prettier venue, especially at their prices. The catering was by Shack in the Back BBQ. They have special prices with that venue that you can't beat. We had BBQ pork and chicken with AMAZING mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, and scrumptious green beans. The BBQ pork was very good with your choice of sauce. I was told (but didn't try it personally) that the BBQ wasn't very good. For an additional dollar per plate, it included lemonade and maybe something else to drink (I can't remember the details.) It was definitely worth the extra charge not to have to bring in our own drinks and make sure they were cold. The cake and cupcakes were very good. I LOVED the icing, it wasn't too sweet but just sweet enough. I got a mix of vanilla and chocolate. They put beautiful pink flowers on the top of the cake. I was really pleased with how it turned out. The MOST IMPORTANT part of the whole experience was the people that work there. Megan was wonderful to work with getting everything initially set up and managed. Louise did a great job on my flowers and gave me exactly what it asked for. But Janna, the coordinator, was absolutely the best part of the whole experience! She made sure every detail was planned out and ran smoothly. She was available by text or phone anytime I had a question or changed my mind. She was also the officiant at our ceremony and almost brought me to tears. She makes the whole Pop Up package work and knows exactly what she's doing. What a pleasure to work with! Please consider using Rivers Edge for your wedding or any event. However, let me start out with the one positive piece of…read morefeedback: Positive: - Vendor made my bouquet, bridesmaids bouquet & groomsmen's boutonnieres, and they looked great. (However, also have negative feedback on the flowers below) Negatives: - Vendor had 'assistants' to help out throughout 'planning' and day of setup. Assistants were really her teenage daughters. - Received countless complaints from family members, guests & other vendors about how rude the vendor & 'assistants' were. It was horribly embarrassing. I have many stories myself from the first hand experience with these people. - Vendor & family actually 'hung out' at my reception, lingered on the dance floor and even drank from our open bar. - Complete lack of professionalism; Vendor always looked sloppy, and NEVER took notes (Red flag #1); Also argued openly with her daughters frequently - Extremely slow response times, no sense of urgency - Missed & tried to cancel appointments on multiple occasions, leaving us frantic & more stressed out - Vendor generally increased stress levels of myself and family throughout the entire process - Flowers made by vendor were completely the wrong color & material; Looked nothing like the sample we agreed upon and did not explain that color & material had changed until it was too late - Used paper flower balls hanging from ceiling as part of decor; These were hung up smashed (were supposed to be smoothed out/fluffed up) and were not at all hung in places or how we discussed - Failed to bring storage to the venue for my wedding cards. Vendor knew before ceremony started that they forgot the box & never went back & got it. Guests were confused & afraid to leave their cards loose on the table - Lost pens I provided for guestbook photo (they were at the venue the entire time), scrambled to find thick black sharpies for guests to use, which completely ruined the look & feel of the photo - Decorations were still being put up as my guests were arriving for the ceremony; Vendor knew months in advance how much time they would have to prepare the venue prior to the ceremony starting I am a VERY laid back, positive, easy going person; probably one of the easiest brides to work with, and I can say with 100% confidence that I wish I had done the planning myself and never gotten this vendor involved...except maybe to make my bouquets :)

She also did not want to provide us with the quote, because the venue would be paying for the cake; not understanding, that any overage in the cost, would result in us paying the difference. Which necessitates my need for seeing that quote. The cake was delicious and had we been treated better, there might have been a sale. But in the service industry, you can not trample your customers events because of your bad mood. We will be meeting with other bakeries this week and next week to decide the vendor we would like to use to provide the cake.
