Students bullied kids but grown up don't do anything and I'm tired of how they can't do anything for me. I can't stand this school don't send ur kids here the teachers don't care if u get bullied. this is the worse High school. this is my first year at Mount Pleasant and i've been getting consulate threats this kid threatened to fight me taking my stuff without my permission always getting into conversations, and likes to bullied my friends. He wont even leave me alone we are mining our own business and like to be in our conversations and he doesn't mine his own busy he also likes to call my middle name I had all school year.that I have enough at this school. This school needs consequences with actions. People getting jumped but the people that jumped people doesn't get punished and treats them well when they can't help the victims. read more

This school is terrible and dangerous, the staff did not care about the students there letting them running the place. And there a lot of fights here and I was forced to fight to defend myself because some kid was bullied me. The students are so disrespectful to the teacher's like there calling the teachers names like WHAT THE HELL. To be honest if your thinking to enroll or transfer your kid to this school DO NOT DO IT! like sent your kid to a better school like pidemont hills, evergreen, independent,santa teresa or silver creek. This is horrible I walked in and was very thirsty as I was about to drink water one of the school advisors told me after I drank the water "DONT DRINK THE WATER it hasn't been cleaned for 3 years" when I tell you I gasped...this is unacceptable and they let children drink this while it clearly shows a red light indicating it's bad water at least put a sign or something!!!!!! i am very disappointed with this schools communication with staff and their lazy VM that they do not change (NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE) also their superintendent mr funk that never addresses concerns and passes them off to parent meetings and than cancels them! Let me also add during the summer I received a notice that my grandson did not return a book I asked the principal Mrs Guerrero to follow up because my grandson did return the book and she found it and stated on My VM that he would receive his classes NOW the day b4 he goes to get his schedule Now I received a VM stating that he did not turn in his lock to his locker so he has a 6 dollar charge keep in mind he never used the locker so if MP had a confident staff they would have found the lock on the locker!! SO YOU SEE WHAT SOME OF THE PARENTS GO THROUGH AT THIS SCHOOL !!!!!!! read more

I'm very disappointed with this school and staff (their communication sucks ass). So my daughter has been going to school and at times is tardy but yet the school considers that as an absent (which makes no sense) other times I have to call in for her and yet NO STAFF to answer the call so therefore i have to leave a voicemail or to verify their absent. Not sure if they even get the message because later in the evening I get another call from the school saying my child had miss 1 or more classes and I need to verify it (mind you I am at work so I really don't know if she attended all her classes or was late for them) however that tells me they did not receive my messages or even listen to them stating that I had verified it. Many times I had told them they need to be more consistent when it comes to that and not just marking student absent when they are present at the school. This has become a very frustrating problem and I don't think any of the staffs communicate with one another and to add I had to go in to update contacts and go into the registration office where I sat face to face with a staff (can't remember her name but she always look like she hates her job) to update phone numbers because I don't receive calls from the school or announcements and my parents are the ones getting them instead of me. I had ask that it's changed but wasn't. It took the school district to update my number onto the system because they fucked up! I never had this issue when she was attending Independence High school but having her attend the school here just shows how incompetent the staff members are. Very Disappointed!! read more

High school graduate! That's me =] Mt. Pleasant is where I spent four years of my life. Good times, bad times. I wouldn't change any of it. I made tuns of friends and met interesting and cool people. Mrs Grooms and Mrs. Tracy much love to these two! They were like moms to me. I owe them a lot for everything they did for me. I remember my first day as a freshman... My mom Evelyn was driving me to school to drop me off and I kept saying " too many people too many people" finally she couldn't drive any further without driving past the school. My mom looked and me and said get out! Till this day I remember how scared I was. But I thank you mom for practically pushing me out of the car. lol. During my duration at Mt. Pleasant I joined choir, The HRC (Human Resources Club) and Drama. I also went to camp Every town twice and it was a very empowering experience, that made me realize what its like on the other side of the grass. Fun times! I will miss this place dearly. But next year watch out! my little brother will be attending so ill be back =] It will be nice to be around my old stomping grounds when I come and visit my brother. This is one of the better High schools on the east side. I'm glad i got the chance to attend MP =] Thanks for a great four years!!! read more

I think this can go for everyone, your High School years will be what you make of it. I was involved, played sports, and did above average in my classes. I enjoyed my time here, mainly due to the participation that I put out during my 4 years. The school is labeled "ghetto" and we get the saying "Mt. Pregnant" but you know what? Tell me one East Side school where there has been zero teen pregnancies? Drug related issues? Sexual relations amongst the students? So realistically -- we are no different from any other high school in the East Side. read more

i can't believe no one has ever reviewed this! i mean, this place wasn't that great.. pretty ghetto.. bad and good teachers.. the only thing great about this school is their animation program which i did 3 years of.. our photography class is cool too. i know we got some photos displayed at a local starbucks a while ago. eh, this school isn't that great when i was there. they just painted the whole place, installed new lockers, and our new theater/drama building. so.. i'm sure it's super nice now! read more

WTH! Attended my Nieces 2015 Graduation which was at the Civic Center in downtown San Jose, a pivotal moment for a Senior graduating. We were all very excited attending but as we were handed the program and went to look for her name we all noticed that "H thru K" where missing from the program!!! This was the "50" year graduating Class and their Names were Missing!! Her last name begins with an "H"!!!! WTH!!!! Bad enough we had to pay $20 to see her graduate! Also the Ceremony was 2 1/2 hours long, 5 Valavectorians Spoke, plus they had a Supreme Court justice and one of the Valavectorians was the Principals Godson! which she ended the program by saying how proud she was, etc, etc! I didn't know you could single out students at a ceremony! wait it was her GodsonAll and all very disappointed, I might have been Ok with it if They had not forgotten ALL those Students names from the Program!!! don't they have someone to review these things! read more

As a Technical Careers Education Provider in the entertainment arts field, I have found some of my very best students come from Mt. Pleasant High School. Just because a neighborhood has been around for a very long time should be no reflection on how gifted these students are. Mt. Pleasant High School has some of the very best in staff and administration in the East Side Union high School District. If I lived anywhere near this school, I would be proud to send my kids there! read more

This school needs a makeover, there basketball court looks sooooo depressing. They need a lot of work here.

My son and daughter started football and cheer and their practices are held at this high school. It used to be my arch rival back when I was in high school. It looks a lot better than it did back when I was growing up so it's a good thing. I like where their football field is located because it carries a pretty good breeze. So when my kids are in practice in the evening you can feel the breeze and the heat doesn't feel so bad. The parking sucks so, you have to park a long the side of the field and walk. read more

This school has a terrible website, it isn't user friendly at all. Also, trying to get an actual person on the phone for any type of assistance is terrible, it's a recordings and voicemails maze, there should be someone available to answer the phone at the school to actually assist parents. read more

i went to EV i go here now MPHS is defiantly better socially wise and more spirt than ev i give it three cuz i hate school. Anyway parents scared of cholos beating up ur kid don't be unless ur kid is a cholo. Work load here is ez, but when u take high more serious classes the teachers dont dumb down kids. read more

I graduated from here in 2005. I had a lot of ups and downs here, but the things that I really enjoyed were the friends I made here and the teachers. The teachers that I'll never ever forger were Mr. Moss, Mr. Rowe, Mr. Garcia (the computer teacher), Mr. Torres, Mrs. Nguyen, Mrs. V or Gallegos, and Mrs. Salas (Especially the last three teachers that I mentioned). Mrs. Nguyen, Mrs. V/Gallegos, and Mrs. Salas are three of thee most beautiful women I've ever seen in my life. OHHHHHH MY FUCKING GOODNESS!!! THOSE THREE HAD IT GOING ON!!!! I was really lucky to have those three as my teachers. I remember a time when Mrs. V/Gallegos got extremely angry at me one time because I slept through her entire class and didn't wake up until like 10 - 15 minutes after her class was over. I got over though. I couldn't get mad at someone as gorgeous as she is. Mrs. Salas was really sweet. I freaking love her. I remember all of the male students trying to hit on her lol. I failed Mrs. Nguyen's class, but it's okay. If you had a teacher that's as drop dead gorgeous as Mrs. Nguyen, you'd have a hard time staying focus on doing the work lol. I wonder if those three are still working there? I'm definitely going to my high school reunion if those three are gonna be there. LORD HAVE MEEEEEEEEERCY WERE those three FINE AS FUCK!!!!!
