The dining room had a table long enough to seat all eleven of us. We were there as a family reunion vacation. My daughter and her husband and two boys and my son and his wife and three girls. There was a bedroom for each of the adult couples and a great bunk bed room for all the children. We requested a couple of kayaks and a canoe. They were there waiting for us when we arrived. A leisurely canoe ride into the Town of Greenville to get ice cream was an every day event. The view of the lake was tremendous. A fire pit allowed a campfire and smores every night. The house was very clean and well kept. There were brochures about the area waiting for us when we arrived. Lots of games in the house was fun as well. Dennis, the property manager, was always available if we had questions both before we arrived and during our stay . We took advantage of Moose Watching trips, fishing trips and lots of hiking opportunities. We just had a great time and I highly recommend this property.

Our first night was good - however - the second night we had a rowdy group of folks next to us. (Try to get a spot in the corner - to ensure a bit more quiet.) Our guides - Tom and Bethany - were knowledgeable and great fun to be with. Despite the chilly, overcast weather - we had great fun! We LOVED the homemade chocolate chip cookies during the snack stop on our adventure. And the lunch at the end of the trip was tummy-stuffing. The Pub is perfect for late-night snacks before retiring to the campfire. We *highly recommend* River Drivers for a rafting adventure!

I rafted twice this year with Riverdrivers. During the first…read moretrip in June we had the most family fun I have ever had. I have a 36 foot toy hauler that housed 8 people including myself. The campsite we had was perfect. Right next to the Dead River. The young people that I had with me were bored after the trip so they were able to use the ducky boats to go down the river to a landing at crusher hole. They had a lot of fun doing this. Bethany was our guide for the first trip. We hadn't been in the run very long when one of my sons (The one that thought this was going to be a carnival ride) slipped out and became a swimmer. With her ability we were able to retrieve him and continue on. The cookies at the snack stop were excellent. The lunch/early dinner was delicious. On my second trip my fiancee and I went on the start of our week vacation starts on the labor day weekend. We had a lot of fun with all of the people that were around prior to the big water run down the Dead River on Sunday. We had to get primed for the trip. The camp site we had was not on the river this time but an excellent place to camp. The trip on Sunday was awesome just like the June trip. We had others in our group that we got to know. This made the trip even more fun. The dinner and party that night was great. The people up there are so nice that we decided to stay until Thursday. We Kayaked with the help of the shuttle and we hiked around the hills. If I were to find a fault is that there is was no electric or water and no dumping station. There are however showers and bathrooms that are clean and well lite. I have heard rumors that water and electric may have been installed. This may sound like an advertizement but it is not. This is truly a wonderful experience for any family, couple or group. I highly recommend this wonderful piece of heaven for your family outing. P.S. The bar is the coolest bar in Maine.

Somehow, as a life-long Mainer, I had never been to Moosehead Lake. The Lawrence Lakeside Cabins…read morewere the perfect first experience and I can't imagine a better option in the region. Even the pre-trip process was much smoother than any other rental I've booked. There's an online guide that explains everything possible about the cabins. If you still have questions, Trina is extremely responsive. The newly renovated cabins, and the property itself, are perfect for a couple with a dog. We stayed at Cabin 2 (Ioneta). This cabin has a brand new infrared sauna upstairs, which my wife was obsessed with, and used four times over a weekend. All of the cabins have a full kitchen and a Weber grill hardwired to the propane, which makes them work flawlessly. Most of the cabins have a private wood fire pit, but Ioneta does not. This wasn't an issue, as there's a larger, community fire pit closer to the water. We made friends with a group of bikers over drinks! Directly on the lake there's many Adirondack chairs to lounge around, along with at least a dozen, newer kayaks and several canoes to explore the lake itself. The shed has outdoor games and activities, and I can't imagine being bored at these cabins. But, just in case you are, there's a brand new game room filled with arcade games, air hockey and basketball, along with a huge tv for watching sports. While relaxing on a gorgeous Maine lake is the perfect getaway, this isn't exactly roughing it. This is good, because I might be the least "outdoorsy" Mainer. The entire property has fast wifi and each cabin has a decent tv with a Roku in guest mode, allowing easy access to every streaming app. The King sized beds are very comfortable and the showers have unlimited hot water. There's even a fun locals bar just a mile walk away with really good pizza! Whether from out of state or more local, I can't imagine a better weekend Maine trip than the Lawrence cabins. It really made our first time at Moosehead special, and we can't wait to return.
