The Color Wheel is a working, fine Art Studio and it so happens that the incredible artist has age appropriate classes for kids. Donald Jackson meticulously crafts each 2 hour weekly class, to nurture, grow and develop the artistic talent of each individual student. He sources all material from his own studio, the kids only use fine art grade media and colors. Sorry, no Crayola here. Only in this way can your child's artistry be limited by their imaginations and not the medium itself. Donald teaches them to channel their creativity with a solid foundation of; Art history; Art Theory; and current Culture. The Color Wheel Studio is an absolute Gem in Bucktown for kids into Art. Bubbles has been just a saving grace. The people that work here are so nice and professional. The young teachers are so sweet and kind. I ended up meeting some of my best Mom friends here and our children became such good friends. The Gold Coast location is great because there's not a lot for babies and toddlers to go to that are in walking distance, it's at the Bloomingdale's building which is great because we can grab a coffee while the kids are in their one hour class he has grown up here and just absolutely adores the teachers. They have a drop in art from 12 to 5 , 7 a week. How great to be able to go somewhere on a Saturday or Sunday and even when they don't have classes during holiday breaks they're still open for drop off art during Christmas time. It was so great just to bring him somewhere. Someplace familiar and happy my son starts lighting up when we, go into the Bloomingdale's building. Every time I meet a new mom with a baby, I immediately recommend the Bubbles classes. You can bring your infant and under six-year-old here for all the stuff that they have open play is great too. During the brutal cold winter, even when the kids don't have class, our friends, bring them to the open play which is included if you are enrolled in a session they play or we pay extra for them to do art which is only $10 completely reasonable and then we eat in the mall with them such a great place to kill three or four hours when it's freezing cold outside

It was actually pretty quiet at the time I was there, during the noon hour; I assume there are busier times but I was glad it wasn't to wild. There are various rooms to hold different classes, open play, and so on. They also have a really extensive class schedule, so there is a great deal to choose from, particularly if your children are older than one I think. Be mindful of where your course is--there are two buildings in which they hold various classes, across the street from one another. I will keep an eye on the classes and play that Bubbles offers because I may want to enroll my kiddo in something fun later. Parking is really good. There's a lot that's shared between Bubbles and the bank next door, and there's also some street parking on the dead-end street on which Bubbles is located. I never had a problem with parking but I'm not sure if I was there at an atypically slow time of day.

They update us through a mobile up throughout the day with pictures and videos so you don't miss precious moments as your child grows. There's lots of space at this daycare for the kids to play and an outdoor field close by where the teachers take them when the weather is nice. The indoor parking garage is also great for parents so you don't have to worry about heavy rain or winds as you pick up and drop off. You can tell they take care of their staff because some of the teachers have been there for years and we have built a great relationship with them throughout that time. They also setup fun events like a day at the beach for staff, parents, and family to eat, relax, and get to know each other. We really couldn't ask for more from a daycare.

We had Art Room Events coordinate a speakeasy murder mystery party in her honor, and it was the perfect event for her. It was so much fun! Although we had some glitches with the venue, Aly was terrific in coordinating the details and smoothing things out with the venue. We received character profiles a couple of weeks in advance, and they were interesting and fun. Throughout the evening, Aly slipped additional clues, evidence, tips, and tasks to characters to help develop the story. I can see that the success of an event like this would be dependent on the people participating. You really need to be uninhibited and get into your character to really make it work. Fortunately, most of the guests were very outgoing and gregarious, but even the introverts (like me) had a great time.

From my experience, it feels like Black students are not given the same opportunities or consideration when it comes to certain positions on campus. It has been extremely discouraging, especially when students are trying to work to support themselves while attending school. On top of that, many things on campus are unnecessarily overpriced. Students are already paying high tuition, yet basic things can feel excessively expensive. I hope the school takes these concerns seriously.

The Dance program included several classic pieces, plus 3 world premiere works. Fascinating, inventive, elegant, and powerful performances! The band played throughout the dance performances, plus 2 amazing solo musical interludes, in addition to a performance by fiddler Liz Carroll, who was later joined on stage by the band's incredible fiddler for a duet. The crowd went wild after each piece, and gave a standing ovation to this much-deserving, strong, fiercely talented company. Lighting, costumes, acoustics, view from my soft comfy box seat chair, a few cocktails.... all perfect! Trinity is known as a company that is both ground-breaking and empowering to its dancers. It was a joy to watch this company in action. I can't wait until they return to Chicago.

Over the past few months I took 3 sewing classes at Sew Crafty and LOVED IT!…read more I started with the Machine Sewing Basics class to brush up on my skills. I had sewn as a teen so it was easy to dive back in, but there were also brand new beginners in my class that seemed to do really well too. After Basics, I felt confident enough to sign up for Hemming and Alterations (a set of 2 classes), where we reviewed measuring and different types of hems/clothing modifications. We even got to bring in some of our own clothes to work on while supervised by the teachers :) Since then, I've been able to hem a bunch of items I've always wanted to wear, so I'll call it a success! The staff was soooo knowledgeable and patient (shout out to Anika who led both of mine!), making the total of 6 hours I spent there really efficient. The studio was tidy, well organized and had all the equipment we needed to thrive. Plus, the classmates were all super kind, so I guess it draws in nice people! 10/10 recommend!
