I did not select B&E Applications for my painting job, however I did contact Eric at B&E after…read morereceiving a referral from my local Sherwin WIlliams store. Eric had time right away to bid my job, he came over within an hour and of all of the five people who bid this job, he imparted the most knowledge. Most of the bidders just walked around, listened to me and then said, "Okay I'll send you a quote". But, Eric actually listened to me and TALKED to me about the project. He talked to me not just about what I wanted, but he also make recommendations based on my needs and what he saw. The reasons I did not select B&E applications was because it was very important to me to have this job completed before Thanksgiving and he told me he would not be able to start until after Thanksgiving. His bid was also the highest bid we received and was substantially higher at $2200, than the second highest big of $1600 that we went with. Had he had the time for us, however, it would have been a tough decision because I really liked him and the skill and knowledge he projected. When I don't have the work actually done and am only reviewing the bidding process it is my practice to give three stars, but this experience was really good, so even though he did not do our work, I give him 4 stars.

When I returned the interior doors, door knobs, door hinges, heavy closet sliders, bathroom vents, and door hinge screws were unattached throughout the entire house and still taped. There was still ceiling fixtures taped and windows unsecured after leaving for the day. When asked if the team can return to finish the job, I was told they would only return to remove the tape.....the following Saturday. Painting was nice and now looks awesome; inside; however , serious clean up and finishing details were missed.

We tracked down the artist, flew back to New Orleans and drove the lights back to San Diego over four days to avoid breakage. That was the easy part. Finding good electricians to handle the hanging of what looks like an art installation of three jellyfish was a nightmare. We have double height ceilings in the living room. At least three electricians came over for quotes. The first agreed to handle and then doubled his initial estimate after leaving. The second declined because he worried about breakage. Easily another five reached by phone worried about logistics (they said we needed to hire a scaffolding company too) and liability of breakage. Sel Electric came in, a father and son team, and were the only ones to go into the attic crawl space to figure out the logistics of how to hang the three lights. They figured out how to hang them without scaffolding and exuded confidence of being able to do the job well. It took just over a day to complete the project and plus they fixed our door bell that had been broken for months. Another electrician tried to fix it, fiddled with it for an hour, gave up and then ghosted me. Hire Sel Electric if you want a job done well, efficiently and for a fair price. They even offered suggestions on how to hang the jellyfish lamps, which look beautiful, day and night.
