Came here for a late breakfast/brunch. The waiting area was very full, so I assumed a long wait. Nope! We were seated quickly with no waiting. I had a ham and cheese omelet. Very thin omelet, served with American fries (which were ice cold...should've said something, but I didn't want to be a bother) and toast. My boyfriend had the chopped steak and eggs. He liked his chopped steak but wasn't too impressed with the sourdough toast. Sourdough must be a fancy word for white bread here. Our server was really nice and came back several times to check on us and refill our coffee. Two meals with coffee came to $45.00. I wouldn't come back here. I get that there aren't really too many sit-down options in Round Lake Beach, but the prices are way to high for average food at best. read more

I am very disappointed in my meal at Mrs V"s restaurant on June 23. it is the first breakfast my grandson and I were able to go and try to enjoy on a long while.. 2 breakfast for 45$ the service was mediocre. Waiting to order, the pancakes weren't as pictured, the turkey bacon was cold and raw. she never came back to check. when it was time to pay the bill, the guy grabs my card, won't give it back to me, keeps inserting it, I had no cash, so I tried to add a tip, which he did, 10$, supposedly 20%. Who charges tip on tax? I feel I was over charged. tip should have been no more than 6$ and the service didn't warrant that!!! Had to wait 10min for the check$ !!! They should get a normal card reader. He should not be grabbing peoples cards and paying their bill. I cannot suggest a visit to this restaurant again.. read more

Came in 5/3/26 ordered two meat lovers skillets. They screwed up my food and I took a steak fajita to-go. At the time of pay the manager ringing me up was RUDE. All I asked was "will the tip go to the waitress?"? She followed up with "your money will go to the bank." Right when I decided to eat the steak fajita oh the food and prep was HORRIBLE. Of course I called they said they would have a credit for me for the steak fajitas. I come in today (5/11/26) and order. Service was terrible. The ambience was alright. Fairly average breakfast location. Typical diner food. Cinnamon French toast is decent but not incredible. Eggs Benedict is pretty good, some restaurants provide a side of fruit but Mrs. V's doesn't include. Service is consistently good, manager is kind and personable. The food is good, however they have raised their prices $1.50 per egg dish (due to the high cost of eggs), charged 3.00 for avocado slices (even though the menu says $1.00 for vegetable add-on) and the credit card surcharge is not mentioned until you go up to pay and see the small sign at the counter. When I asked about the charge of avocado, I got attitude and they wouldn't budge (it's about the principle, not the money). Our bill was over 75.00 and we have dined there frequently. Awful. Infuriating. Disgusting. Sat down at a filthy table. Food and spills on it as if it had been wiped down very quickly. Which tells me they definitely didn't sanitize it either. Requested a second cleaning of it. The server brought a wet towel. Didn't move or replace anything, just wiped around the plates and silverware. When the food came I opened my napkin with the silverware and saw those were dirty as well. Crusty food on the knife. Asked for a replacement. She brought a second set. Opened the napkin, hair in it. See picture. All of this tells me they couldn't care less about sanitation. There's still a pandemic going on. There's also a mask mandate, yet the employees don't seem too concerned. After going to this place for a while, I honestly rather go to another restaurant than here. 1) the food can be better. I've had eggs that were over cooked, the hash browns are not that great, and the bacon seems like they've been sitting there for quite a bit. 2) the place needs to be renovated. The cushion on the booths are coming off and the floor looks dirty all the time. 3) By the windows you can tell they don't clean nor dust them off. I saw a dead bug and that's just gross. I had a waffle and you can tell they don't clean the waffle maker because my waffle had black burned stuff on it. They don't clean their coffee cups thoroughly or even their utensils because the coffee cup my husband had had a lipstick stain on them. My family and I have been coming here for over 10 years. The service and food has gone down hill. We went there for a breakfast dinner and the food was terrible. We ordered the saganaki for a app and came so over cooked the cheese was burnt all over and underneath. I asked for a new one even the server said I thought that was over done then another server then the manager. So why did you send it out? They did make a new one but still. My wife's Greek chicken was dry and no taste and she's had it many times before. I had the hash stack with barley any gravy bacon and sausage in the skillet was so over cooked as well as my toast was almost black on one side. The place wasn't even busy. We keeping coming back hoping it will be better and it gets worse every time, so that will be the last time. The prices are absurd which it is everywhere but $100 for breakfast come on and charge for refills for drinks. The place needs to be cleaned as well is it very dirty. The saginaki was very good, the meal was great as well They definitely don't have a good cream of chicken and wild rice soup compared to other diners and there bread basket is sad but other then that we will be back and thought it was overall good.
