I have been to a psychic reading before and you can just tell this was off from the Chanel bags plastered everywhere to asking if my friend would want to stay in the room? This should be a personal spiritual experience but it was far from that. I paid for the $75 Egyptian reading and all she did was pull out cards and read from them, which was the same thing she said to my friend who went after me. The dog wasn't constantly barking and her phone ringer was going off the whole time. This was not personal at all nor was is accurate. This was such a fun and interesting experience. My reading was accurate and so comforting (unexpectedly). There is also a little white dog there named "Cutie" and she's the best. I've been recommending this to everybody I know (the open-minded ones). One of the first things she said to me was "you have a lot of sisters" i said "yes, i have 5". I've been wanting to go to Mrs. Rita's in Tempe (115 W. University Drive) for a really long time. I think psychics are a lot of fun (when you have the money to spend) and can be therapeutic and prompt some life-changing thoughts and actions. When my old roommate visited Mrs. Rita's a few years ago, she raved about the accuracy of the reading and how detailed the insights were. So when I was in Tempe this past weekend, I stopped in and gave Mrs. Rita's a go. When I went, Rita wasn't the actual person giving me the reading-it was a young lady named Stephanie, who also lived in the house where the reading was done. If you go with a friend, readings are done separately, and the person waiting may wait in the living room area, which has a television to keep you occupied. When it's your turn, you go into Stephanie's office, which is full of crystal balls and books. It's as professional-looking as you can get with a psychic's office, and it's a comfortable setting to have a reading in. She offers palm readings for $25, Tarot card readings for $35 and psychic readings for $45. A psychic reading, according to Stephanie, is when she channels your energy psychic-ly without the use of aids. I went with a Tarot card reading, which lasted about 20 minutes. She asked me to cut her Tarot card deck three ways, then choose the pile I wanted to use. She then laid out all the cards and did the reading. Instead of going over each card individually, she looked at the full pile and told me key insights from there. Before the reading, she'll ask you what things in your life you want guidance in. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, so she offered me details on my career, friendships, relationship and health. Everything she mentioned about my current life was accurate (and there were specifics, such as what my close friends were like and how I view myself), and she told me things to watch out for in the future. I would never take what a psychic says as truth, but if you can have fun with the experience and simply be mindful of what they tell you without freaking out about anything, I think it's a cool thing to try at least once. So.... I am going to tell you the truth about this completely. This place is musically written about by the gin blossoms ( I'm 28 still a melenial but that's what I listened to when I was little ) so it is a famous place. They are Romanian and from Gypsey blood ( what the granddaughter told me) I have had so many readings here. I really love it because whatever they read is right. Butttt just like anyone else they can't predict the future and so if you get them saying something not from the cards it's on chance. I never get mrs Rita because she's the grandmother and I don't know where she is but she isn't there. However I get the daughter which is a mom and then I have also been read by the granddaughter who was really cool but probably not psychic in the way that others would perceive her. I would rather be read by the granddaughter than the mom / mrs Rita's daughter, because she seems to never want to share too much and at one point was okay with charging me 45 dollars although she gave me almost nothing psychically. I have a love hate relationship with this place because I alwaYs come here and they read tarot the best but they give me either a lot of good stuff or very mediocre all the time. NOW IVE BEEN TO A LOT OF FAKE PSYCHICS. So these people get 5 stars. I tell you there are some real crooks out there and these people are not crooks they completely understand the art of tarot and they also have other decks of cards that they understand as well. Now there is a psychic I know who is legit for real no joke a psychic but literally that's one in a million and her name Is Rebecca fearing. But she's like a celebrity psychic and I had one reading with her over the phone she costs a lot. But she doesn't read cards or anything. So what I can say is these people at mrs Rita's. So my mom was in town, we didn't have much going on and figured it'd be fun to go to a psychic since we'd never been before. Based on the 7/7/2012 review we decided to give Mrs. Rita's a try. Now, we are not mystic or believe that a psychic is going to give any real advice, but we figured it would be a fun way to spend the afternoon. Whelp... at least I laughed through the entire tarot reading. (Note: We saw Mrs. Rita's daughter) My mother, a 60 year old woman, is apparently going to have a fourth child. Good lord, if you're going sit there and make up complete garbage you might want to be intelligent enough to use some context clues. My mom's business is also going to be very successful and earn a lot of money... my mom replied "I'm a teacher". When my mom pointed at a card and asked what it meant, the reader said "I don't know" And me? Well apparently my car is about to break down (I just got a new car less than a year ago), I should stop exercising before I lose the use of my right knee (I've never been injured), and I am going to be proposed to twice in the next year... right. Now, all of this would have been perfectly fine and an awesomely fun way to spend our afternoon, BUT for the two of us the reading lasted 20 minutes total and cost 80 dollars. I honestly don't know how the women who work here can consciously rip people off and sleep at night, it's absolutely disgusting. Mrs. Rita's daughter got one thing right in the reading though... she told my mom, "You spend too much money, you're about to come into money, but you're going to waste it" ... They really disappointing experience overall I would not go back, I would not recommend it, prices seemed to be up to the reader, whatever she felt like, I thought it would be $45 as posted here, paid $75. We went separately but she ends the reading with don't share your reading or you will have bad luck or something..lol barely anything made sense. I have taken many of my friends here and all of them have thanked me. The psychics have known things that are unexplainable (and specific!) and have given advice and insight that is helpful. This place is run by sisters and I have had better readings by one than the other. But. One was done at a time when I needed some help and one was done at a time when I was perfectly fine and I was mostly going to accompany a friend.
