I was in St. Pete yesterday and a friend and I grabbed a bite before the Rays/Yankees game…read more We ordered 3 small plates. 1- Grilled octopus 2- Duck Confit Empanadas. 3- Ropa Vieja. We both loved the octopus and Ropa Vieja . The duck was good but lacked that sauce that made it work. We both didn't care for the one that came with the dish. The atmosphere is nice on the smaller size but roomy. The staff was friendly and efficient. I would love to try other dishes that they offer. It was hard to choose only 3

I went with friends to this place last weekend. Honestly, there was nothing special about the…read moreplace. What stuck in my mind was the way the waitress, named Bella misbehaved. She led off with complaining about working there and how business was down. She then turned it on and flirted with me heavily, the whole meal, in front of my friends! It was so out of hand that I finally played along. I asked for her number, which she gave me and we supposedly planned a date for the following day, which she claimed to have off. Thinking that she was being genuine, the next day I expected to see her, as planned. She never answered my call, texted me or called, just ghosted me. After checking all the other places I had been to, since going there, I realized that unfortunately I left my credit card there and had to return to get it. She never bothered to text me about that either! In fact my friend, who lives nearby, went in to eat again, because his wife wanted to try the place. While they were there, she didn't mention to my friend that I had left my card there either. Nor did she bother to tell him to tell me that we won't be seeing each other that day, as planned, because she had to work, despite telling me she had the day off. Through process of elimination and calling AMEX, I finally realized that I left my card there and returned to pick it up. As I walk through the door, our eyes meet and she begins shaking her head scolding me "no" like I'm her child. I walk right up to her and instead of speaking, I waited to hear what she had to say. She said "I did not invite you to come here today," attempting to skitter to some ridiculous moral high ground, after ghosting me, without a word. I inform her that "I will go anywhere I damn well please to retrieve my credit card, when I leave it places the night before!" Only then, does she remember that the card was still there and she returned it to me! No apology for anything at all. No accountability, no respect, no professionalism, just an entitled, selfish brat doing what they do so well. Now that I've been used and abused, by a member of the wait staff, despite having a passable meal, things were made to be so awkward by this dummy, that not only will I not be back, but neither of my friends will either probably. Had she behaved with even a modicum of respect and treated me with the dignity I deserved, after spending $200 on a meal there and tipping her $50 the night before, I might have returned to eat there repeatedly and had a different opinion about the place. Instead, now, since she branded me a half a stalker, when honestly, I had already written her off as a flake and just returned to get my AMEX back, I've decided that this place doesn't hire professional wait staff and should be avoided! If I wanted to be treated this way, I would've simply gone to a strip club!

I had heard such great things about this place and decided we needed to check it out after a beach…read moreday! We made it just in time for happy hour which turned out to be a great deal, $1 oysters, $5 oyster shooters, $10 smash burgers, $10 frozen cocktails (espresso martini was so yum!) and many more options. Service was quick and friendly, the space inside felt cool even on the hot Florida day and even with the doors open and open space I loved this spot and definitely plan on coming back when I'm St. Pete!

The food itself was good, but the portions were definitely questionable for the price. I ordered…read morethe fish and chips for $22 and was surprised to get two pieces of fish that were about the size of chicken tenders, with what felt like 80% of the plate being fries. The fish tasted good, but I expected a lot more for the price. On the bright side, the frozen espresso martini was absolutely bomb and was easily my favorite part of the meal. Definitely recommend getting one if you stop by! Unfortunately, the dine-in experience left a lot to be desired. Our waiter seemed completely disinterested in being there and had a pretty bad attitude throughout the meal, which made the service feel uncomfortable. Maybe we just caught him on an off day, but it definitely impacted the overall experience. If I were to come back, I'd probably just get takeout and skip the dine-in experience. The food and drinks are worth trying, but the portions and service could definitely use some improvement.

This is my 2nd time visiting LALA in St Pete and had a blast! Went with a large group on a Sunday…read morefor brunch (reservation made a couple days beforehand) and we all enjoyed it. I ordered the chicken and waffles as I wanted a bit of savory and sweet. I meant to ask for the berry compote on the side, but forgot. However, the berry compote on top of the waffles was actually pretty nice and added to the meal. I also ordered the Black Truffle Mac and Cheese. Me and my friend ordered that last time and we chowed down, it was DELICIOUS! Perfectly cooked, thick, yummy cheese, and great amount of flavor. The big draw for my group is the open karaoke! On Sundays, LALA offers open karaoke in the main restaurant from 1-4 pm. There's a small stage at the front of the restaurant. It's free, you just add your name to the list. There usually isn't a long wait to sing. The last couple of times, my party was able to sing several times. Each time, the list was short, so the same people kept going up to sing again and again. It's a very fun environment. We had Patrick as a server this time - he was very patient and really attentive. It's not a huge restaurant inside (but still good amount of seating) and everyone I've come across from staff to patrons have been amazing. Great stop to visit if you're checking out St Pete! LALA is located in a great area, right in the middle of Central Ave. Would absolutely recommend a brunch here if you're looking for something fun and different but also still a bit laid back. There's so many little shops and venues to check out along Central Ave if you're still wanting to keep the party going.

We started with the seacuterie board (seafood board), which was fantastic, and the charred octopus, and asparagus which were delicious! To be honest, everything we tried was flavorful and beautifully prepared. And the drinks... We had the Pink Flamingo, Old Fashioned, and Espresso Martini, and every single one was delicious. They definitely know how to make a great cocktail! The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and welcoming--and the ambiance made the whole experience even better. It has such a great vibe and is the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy yourself, and make an evening out of it. Amazing food, delicious cocktails, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. LALA gave us the full experience, and we will absolutely be back for the karaoke night. Highly recommend!

Thank you. We started with their Masa pancakes which gave a thick yet light taste to it. That lemon and blueberry combo was the bomb. The wife has the Tuna Tosadas which were fresh and flavorful! It was so good. I had the Chorizo Verde Tacos which was soooo good that I ate all 3. I ordered a side of home fries but I didn't even need them. Their coffee was amazing too and I forgot where it was from but again ... bomb. We'll def be back in the future and next time get some cocktails!

3.9‑Star Review (Weeknight Dinner, St. Pete)…read more I'm a St. Pete local and would rate this place 3.9 stars - not quite a 4. We had a reservation for six and didn't realize that meant mandatory patio seating, which was extremely hot with loud fans. For the prices, the seating was a letdown, and the $13 mocktails felt steep for this area. The food ranged from amazing to just okay: * Korean BBQ Chicken Sandwich -- wow * Classic Cheeseburger -- really good * Piri Chicken -- not good * Mushroom Paella -- pretty good * Goat Cheese Blossoms -- I loved them, others didn't * Tom Yum Shrimp -- really good * Rosemary Fries -- inconsistent but delicious * Summer Cobb Gem Lettuce -- delicious Our group of six was split: 1 wouldn't return, 2 would consider another chance, 2 liked it and said of course will be back, and 1 thought it was five stars. The service was great, and the dishes that hit were really good - but the heat, pricing, and inconsistency kept it under four stars for me. It was after work so drinking was not the main event so no real information on the cocktails.
