Horrible management. Dropped my car off 3 days ago without a simple call back to let me know if my tire could be replaced or needed new tires. After multiple phone calls still no answer. Finally went to pick up my vehicle bought it to the local Shell gas station where he changed my tire in less than 30 mins. 30 mins vs 3 days! Unbelievable! Needs new management!!! I bought tires from tire rack I had them sent to Mr. tire and they took care of everything for me. It would be nice if they would've driven me home or pick me up to get my car that would save me a lot of aggravation as I just moved to the area I don't know anyone. But I finished my car a day early and I hit Sherrod with a gardener to get it. Otherwise everything worked out fine I plan on bringing my other car there soon and maybe they'll drive me back after they read this. Called to have 2 loose tires mounted 15" the guy on the phone said what size. Sold I told him and proceeds to tell me they are yo big and one of our tire machine's are down. It's a car tire 295/55/15 Just a wide tire 27 Inches tall. When I question him he got an attitude.. I've been doing this my whole life I've been working on cars for 35 plus years I've never had anybody tell me they could not mount a 15" tire. And this is a tire place good luck I'm afraid if I had a 13" tire it would probably be too big for them to mount as well well I know where I'll never go.... read more

I took my car to the Mr. Tire in Chester to get an oil change and tire rotation right before I was to leave town on a road trip. I got a call that my car was finished and the man on the phone casually stated that someone had just hit my car while the tech was driving my car from the back of the shop to the parking spaces out front. When I arrived, I was greeted by the person who had hit my car and no one from Mr. Tire. The person who hit my car was extremely apologetic and said that the tech driving my car came flying around from the back and whipped my car (reversing) into a spot while he was was trying to park into a spot as well. The tech just shrugged his shoulders and went inside to give the front desk my keys. When I went inside the store the gentleman at the front desk was extremely unhelpful and was trying to get me out of the store as quickly as possible. He did not offer any customer service and even charged me for the oil change. He would not make eye contact with me either.When I pressed for more information about their insurance ( since their tech was driving my car) he would not give me any information. I dont know if they have insurance or not based off of my experience. He looked through a binder and said that he didn't have anything in there. He seemed to have no idea what he was doing. All I got was an incident report from them and that was barely legible. My car insurance and the other drivers insurance found us both liable and now I am out $500 for the deductible. I feel that Mr. Tire should at least pay my deductible since it was their tech that was driving. I will not recommend this location to anyone after the service I received. read more

I do not normally write reviews, but when feeling so taken advantage of and after receiving such terrible service I felt a civic duty to warn others. I took my car to Mr. Tire over the weekend for a simple oil change. They talked me into getting the more expensive synthetic oil stating that it is better for double the mileage. I also let them know my tire pressure light was on and if they could check the tires. Upon picking up my car, they told me a screw was found in the tire and charged a wopping $35.00 to remove and patch the tire. Not only did I feel this was an unfair price, they never called to ask me if I wanted them to perform the service. I then got into my car and upon arriving home, looked at the sticker which said I needed another oil change in less that 3,000 miles, instead of the promised 7,500 miles for the more expensive oil. I was then left questioning if they had even given me the oil that was promised. As if these things weren't bad enough, when I got out of my car at home I realized that my hood was ajar. When I tried to close the hood, it would not close. I was furious and had to call my boyfriend to come over with tools to fix it. After cooling down over these three incidences, I decided to call Mr. Tire before writing a bad yelp review to see if they would make reparations. The individual who will remain unnamed on the phone was extremely rude, dismissive and offered no solutions and only an attitude. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change with free tire rotation. Pretty simple, or so I thought. After scheduling an appointment the night before, I dropped the car off at 11am. They said they would call me once the car was done, but I didn't hear anything all morning/afternoon. 4 hours later, still no call. I eventually had to called them only to hear that it had been finished. Great follow-up guys (sarcasm) The worse part, though, was that THEY DIDN'T ROTATE THE TIRES even though it was listed on the receipt. This was pure dishonesty and laziness. Even worse, they managed to provide a list of useless additional work to try and up-sell me. Just unacceptable. God forbid I actually needed to have work done on the car beyond an oil change. I purchased tires through Amazon, and selected an appointment at this location. Received two different texts confirming my appointment time and date, and make plans to take my vehicle over my lunch hour. I arrive and both of the guys behind the counter acted like they had no idea, like I was wrong. So I asked for my tires back, which they gave me to me, but there was no apology and they couldn't possibly have been any less helpful. This shop is horrible. I brought my Volkswagon Beetle to the shop for a simple oil change. 5 hours later, they finished the job and I picked up the car. A few months later, I bring the car to get another oil change, and they inform me that Mr. Tire actually put SILICON on the oil drainage plug! Now, the plug is sealed into place and cannot be removed without having to replace the entire oil vessel ($350 cost) The mechanic who noticed the issue said that in his 15+ years in the industry, he has NEVER seen such negligence. it really actually pains me a bit to write this review, I have been going to Mr. tire in Chester for over 10 years. The managers were always friendly and I thought gave me good service, I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. While I was there the manager said I should really have the tires balanced for an extra $35. It's a brand new car and I wanted to take the best care of it so I agreed. I didn't bother to check upon returning to pick up the car, I had always had a small scrape mark on the driver side front rim from rubbing up against the curb, A couple of weeks later it happened to catch my eye, it was still on the driver front where it had always been, Which means there is no way they could've rotated or balanced the tires. I called and spoke to a manager, and in fairness to them they did refund me the money. I've had much work done with them over the years other than oil changes, new tires, a complete new exhaust system on one car. Now I wonder how many other times did they screw me over, I will not be returning ! read more

Lifesavers!!! Planning a fun road trip to Seacrets in Ocean City and caught a flat off the highway. It's funny because we caught the flat literally in front of a Goodyear but they were closed. ALSO TRASH. And BMW roadside assistance was just the worst. Luckily we have flat-run tires so we could travel a little bit. This lil spot was 5mins away. KEVIN WAS AMAZING. So sweet. So helpful. The change was super quick (20mins tops). And we obviously weren't gonna be able to make it all the way to Seacrets so he gave us a ton of similar options in the area. Great place. Great service. On a recent trip to the beach, our van broke down past the Bay Bridge on a Saturday afternoon. AAA picked us up but the garage that provided the tow had already closed for the day. The driver called a few garages and Mr. Tire said they could take a look at our van ASAP. Turns out our starter had burned up and needed to be replaced. They recommended a local place we could grab some lunch and proceeded to work on our van. They got us back on the road in just a couple of hours and turned a potential disaster into a simple inconvenience. I'm only giving 4 starts because Mr. Tire charged ~$120 to do an ODB scan when the car is brought it. Thankfully Mr. Tire did discount half of that fee from the final repair costs. While I understand the reason why garages need to charge for the scan, I feel the $120 is a bit excessive. I would give 4.5 stars if I could. read more

If I didn't have to give a star for my review to be published...I wouldn't..that is how bad the service was. Please take heed and do your homework on this place before going. I had first purchased my tires (Mr. Tire at the Chester, MD store) from KEVIN the GENERAL MANAGER. He was all smiles making the sale and selling me the extra warranty. He even asked me to put a 'positive' review for him online. He also told me at the time that my tie rod was jammed and they could not do a balance on the vehicle. He quoted me close to $800 to fix the tie rod. I told him I would think about it and get back to him. I took it to a different mechanic who charged me $400 - "the going rate." Today I put a 'request' for an appointment online via the Mr. Tire website for tire rotation that I would wait for. The website asks for name, phone number and the time you would like to come in. The website also states someone would be in touch if the appointment doesn't work for the store which is fair. No one called and I took off work early to have this very small task taken care of. I thought I would be a few minutes late so I called the store to be polite and let someone know. The MANAGER, KEVIN, answered the phone, I asked him about the appointment and told him I may be a few minutes late. He said he had no record of my appointment. I asked him to clarify with regard to the online process. He stated, "well that thing doesn't know if we have appointments already." I told him it didn't make sense that a company runs a business that way. He stated, "Since you want to wait for your car, I can get you in on Monday." I came back to him and clarified again if he got my appointment online. He said "no" and I asked, "how did you know I wanted to wait for my car then?" He started to back-pedal, called me belligerent and said he didn't like my attitude. I told him I was being very professional and trying to get to the bottom of the story as to why my appointment was ignored and no one had the courtesy to call me. I asked for his District Manager's name and phone number where he, again, went on a rant, spoke over me about how he doesn't have to give me nothing but customer service. I called customer service - which ALSO - did not start out good. I began to think this was a company-wide issue and I certainly should forego any more contact. I asked the customer service agent if all online appointments go through to the store and she said, "absolutely, they actually have to accept or decline to get it off their screen." She further told me it is company policy for the store to call people back and adjust the schedule. Unfortunately I paid for a service...I should not feel fear to have my tires rotated, yet I do due to this KEVIN person. Mr. Tire has a manager that doesn't mind over-pricing people, LIES, takes money from customers, runs a facility that is supposed to instill trust due to the work they do, LIES, and cannot be held accountable for his awful representation of this company. Terrible, just terrible. The service is awful. The manager will make you wait an hour to get your oil changed. I recently bought tires off of tire rack and had them shipped to and installed at this location. 2 days later I have a flat tire. The tire shop I took it to said that the valve I had replaced wasn't installed properly and cause air to leak causing the flat. I now have to have a tire ordered and reinstalled. I'm of course never going here again and will never recommend to anyone for their service. read more

Needed four tires and began my search online at the tirerack.com. Once I had identified my favorite tires and pricing, I headed out to see if I could match it locally, or at least get close. The first tire shop I went to said "we couldn't possibly get close to that price, we don't sell millions of tires". Mr Tire was my next stop, I explained my plan to Morgan and he said " let's see what I can do". Bottom line once we factored in shipping from the tire rack and installation, Mr. Tire was able to beat the end price from the online tire company.... Morgan said he's been able to do that about 80% of the time... The next day I had four new Michelin tires on my car and just finished applying for my $70 manufacturers rebate.. Morgan did a great job, he was willing to listen and work with me, the other tire dealer seemed like they just couldn't be bothered working for my business.... read more

I've been going to Mr. Tire since 2014. I've gotten several oil changes there, or so I thought. Last week when my car broke down I checked the oil and saw that it was black and below the lowest line.Therefore, I paid for an oil change on September 16, 2016 for Mr. Tire to not change my oil. Since my car won't start now, I can't even take it back there to prove that they didn't do the job to get a refund. Really wish I had checked it myself earlier but thought this was a company I could trust. Shame on me. I really don't understand how this happened because Mr. Tire had my car from 10:30a to 4pm on that day. Is this incompetence or another shady mechanic shop? read more

Took our car in for a routine oil change, which service for that was fine. I have a camel color interior which is kept clean. When I got my car back, it was obvious no floor mat or seat covers were used. Dirt marks all on floor mats, oil/grease finger prints on seats, center console and arm rest. The hood was not wiped off either because there were more prints on it along with the driver side door. When we brought it to their attention, basically wasn't a concern to them. My car needed breaks really bad. I took it to Mr. Tire to get a quote, which I thought would be pretty low due to their advertisement for $109 per set. I was absolutely flabbergasted when they quoted me $800.00. They said I needed all pads replaced and new front rotars. I still thought $800 was really high. Matthew (the front desk person) was very courteous until I started asking questions regarding the justification of cost. He then became very defensive and when I asked at what percentage they were upping the cost of the pads (which he told me were $215 for one set....ONE SET)! He then stated (and I'm not exaggerating) "that is nobody's business but ours!"....HOW RUDE! I told them to put my tires back on my car and I would pick it up in the next few minutes. I went straight to Rick's Gas & Go, which is right off the Cox Neck exit and told them what Mr. Tire quoted I needed and the total cost. Rick's looked at my car and said I DID NOT need new rotars and my cost would be $316 TOTAL......WOW!!! The break pads only cost $59.00, so Mr. Tire was going to charge me an extra $156 per set of break pads which didn't include the labor!!!! Mr. Tire is a total rip-off! If you are in the Chester, Stevensville area and need your breaks replaced I highly recommend Rick's Gas and Go. Steer clear of Mr. Tire. They will over charge you!!! read more

Terrible service. Arrogant, rude, incompetent, unsafe, dangerous. DO NOT USE. Broke off one wheel stud (which happens) but then told me it was my fault for cross threading the bolts. They are the only people who have removed my wheels for the last 3 tire changes. Had to leave my car overnight. Went to pick my vehicle the next day and they gave it me back with a wheel bolt missing. When questioned they were rude and told me it was perfectly safe to drive with a wheel bolt missing. Finally got them to agree to supply and fit new bolt. Went to get it fitted the manager was again rude and arrogant and told me he had been repairing tires for 35 years and it was safe to drive with one bolt missing. If that is the case why did Mercedes fit 5 wheel bolts. Removing one reduces the wheel bolt capacity by 20%. DO NOT USE Mr TIRE your wife daughter mother may not notice what they did. read more

My experience with Mr Tire in Chester was absolutely all that could be hoped for . I was able to make an appointment online, they were polite, fun, and flexible when I found out that I needed more than just help with my truck but I also needed help with the trailer tires. Mr tire needs to go back to school....replacement service kits are available for tire pressure sensors ($6), if he knew that, he would have saved me $240 and I would not have replaced a sensor. One would assume if your name is Mr Tire you knew something about tires. read more

i brought my truck in to have an alignment done in February because i noticed uneven tire wear. i got it back out of the shop, WITH A HUGE DENT IN THE SIDE OF IT, claiming their "parking lot is like a park and ride and people can leave vehicles here." 4 YEARS AGO THIS LOCATION TOWED THIS SAME TRUCK AWAY AFTER DOING WORK ON IT FROM THEIR "PARK AND RIDE" TYPE PARKING LOT!!!! and my steering wheel was completely unaligned, much worse thEn when i brought it in. pretty much everything about my vehicle was worse than when i dropped it off. i had to bring it back the next day. the next day they tell me i need a camber bolt replaced(wasn't mentioned before). the bigger guy that works at the desk said "camber wont affect tire wear". he was wrong because now, 7 months later, i have the same tire wear. the staff is uneducated, lazy, and refuses to take responsibility for wrong doings. i will forever and always talk down about this location. please do not put your vehicle in here it will only cause more headaches for yourself. read more
