500,000 stars!!!!!!! I should have posted a review a lot sooner, because my experience with Mr. Tint was great. I had my windows done last summer. The staff was very friendly, very professional, and super service minded. My car was in and out of their shop in about 1/2 a day. The tint job they did on my car is gorgeous. I have been super satisfied with my windows and the entire experience. Why the late review? First off, I just forgot to write one, but today that tint job saved my passenger from being showered with exploding glass shards as I was side swiped by a fish-tailing container truck. No joke, the front passenger door and engine panel were impacted, and the window shattered into a hundred million little shards of death. The tint was/is the only thing holding that window together!! Thank you, Mr. Tint. I had no idea there would be an added safety bonus with your already high quality product. I'll be seeing you in a couple of weeks, after I get a new door installed.

Very good service we set up the appointment online and they were so helpful with selecting the product we wanted and installation was quick and clean!!

If I could I'd do 4.5 stars because I'm happy with the outcome but still upset. To start I didn't know what to get when I arrived. All I knew is I wanted to cut the sunlight & heat from coming into the car as much as possible but still being able to see at night. The nice guy working the front last weekend was helpful & took me around to different cars in the parking lot to show me how each of the ceramic ones looked from the outside. I had asked if all the windows would be done & he said yes. It was upsetting that they told me after they had already starting on my car that the front little windows couldn't be done. I was told on a Facebook group I should've taken my car to another shop. In fact the windows can be done (he showed me a picture of his GTI). Had I known before they started I probably would've found a different place. It doesn't look terrible & you can't really tell when you're inside. But, I thought I'd mention it here if this is important to another buyer with tiny windows (ask before they start & be clear it's a deal breaker). Make sure you inspect the tint before you leave as well. I had to take it back this weekend to get the driver's window redone because it was like a razor had sliced the tint. I didn't think I would have to double check their work. I didn't appreciate the manager insinuating I was to blame. Let's just say I was madder than a wet hen!! Upon arrival after he looked at the tint & he agreed to fix it. He squeezed me into his busy day & was out within an hour. The best part was once completed he apologized for offending me. That was why I chose to do a review because I was very grateful that he realized he was wrong in his choice of words & this business should be recognized for doing right by the customer!

I highly recommend Mr. Tint. I called in and told them I was really pressed for time. They told me they could get me out in about an hour if I went over immediately. When I got there, they were courteous and professional, and they had me sit in their waiting room. About a 1/2 hour later, they told me my car was done. I had the two fronts tinted to match the factory tint. Job was perfect! Thank you! In these times when so many businesses customer service has gone down the tubes, its good to know that some are striving to stand by their word and give great service. Thanks again. You guys rock!!

Incredible job by the Mr Tint crew. Took about 2 hours while I hung out in the air-conditioned waiting room. Apparently there was a defect in my passenger-side window so they made sure to let me know. It was nice to know that if I got the window replaced under warranty, that they'd be able to add tint to that new window as well! Highly recommend!

IT'S THE DETAILS FOR ME. Highly recommend!!! I had two cars done with them this week and they did a spectacular job on both. A Honda Civic and a Tesla. Super happy on how both cars look now. The staff members were excellent and they help you choose what works best for you. Really quick tint job, brought in an old Audi and they got the job done quick, even with a few setbacks. The rubber seal for the windows usually have a felt surface, but they mentioned my car being pretty old so they were deteriorating and that a few specks would be on the windshield, but i couldn't find any! Honest people, great work, just a bit more pricey than tint jobs I had on other cars with same amount of windows. read more

So I took my car here for Window Tinting and Paint Protection, both came out good, but ultimately time will tell. The Paint Protection for my car was VERY expensive and I'm positive that if I shopped around I could have got it done MUCH CHEAPER. A dude named "Sonny" examined my car and presented me with prices for different Paint Protection scenarios. It seemed like he was pulling prices out of the air. I have a very expensive car and I think he saw me coming. I highly doubt the price would have been as high on a lesser valued vehicle. They use a very high quality Paint Protection Film called "Llumar" which you can search for on YouTube. The film is quite good and I did find a guy on YouTube who did his entire Vette for $4300 so I know the stuff isn't cheap in general. Keep this in mind if you're considering it, I believe there are much cheaper Paint Protection Film options out there that are probably still very high quality. I heard these guys were good and just paid their fee because I didn't feel like shopping it out, but I know I could have done better. So Sonny applies the Paint Protection Film to my front bumper and since the film is pre-cut, there is a curved area near my headlights where the film doesn't completely cover/protect near both headlights. Given how much I paid these guys, I expected that they would address this without me saying anything. I didn't say anything as I had other stuff to do that day, but I thought it was definitely a thumbs down. I'm probably going to take the car back and have them address it but I shouldn't have to, I don't know, we'll see. There are a ton of guys who do this and with all of the options out there, I would just go somewhere else. read more

I did not appreciate how necessary auto window tinting was to me until I unintentionally bought a new car that did not have it. I am fairly sensitive to sunlight, so my daily commute really strained my eyes. I was also seeing some hyper-pigmentation on my left wrist, arm & face. After doing some research, I decided I wanted the FormulaOne Pinnacle brand of film installed and Mr Tint is the only dealer of this brand in San Diego county. I settled on the Pinnacle line because it would not interfere with electronics and comes with a superior warranty. I walked into the Mr Tint Escondido location on a Saturday to get a quote for my car, but their prices were reasonable and they could have my car done by 3:30pm that day! My car was finished and ready to pick up at 3:30 as promised, and I am thrilled with the results. The car looks fantastic and I have a much more comfortable daily commute. read more

IN LOVE! I was looking around to see where I wanted to get my 2019 Civic Coupe tinted and I came upon Mr Tint. I was on the website, (12/27) submitted a quote and John got back to me quick. He thoroughly explained the different types of tint offered, along with pricing for a coupe. I said I would get back to him and then I ended up emailing him on Sunday (they are closed Sundays) to book an appointment for Monday (today) and he got back quickly! Today I got the classic series tint, 15% all around (yes it is illegal) and I used the check in coupon. I paid $180 today and I am so impressed with how my car looks! My appointment today was at 9 and I picked it up at 12. Although it was a long time, I was shopping around with my mom anyways, it makes up for how great the tint looks. Service: great customer service over the phone and in the actual store. I walked in on a weekday and two hours later, I had 5 of my windows tinted for $200. I got a discount for checking in on Yelp. I didn't even need an appointment!! There isn't really anything in the immediate vicinity to here so be ready to walk somewhere to kill time or make sure to have someone pick you up. Parking: tons of street parking here. There is a small lot in the back too. Atmosphere: there are some chairs inside to sit and wait for your ride to be done. There are magazines on the table to read. No TV. In the end, my windows are tinted and they look great. They have a variety of tints, each w a variety of protection for your car. I went for the least expensive dark tint that they had and it was only $200 out the door. They have a lifetime warranty on the tiny too. Make sure not to roll your windows down for at least 3 days after you get tinted. Very please w this purchase. Thanks Mr. Tint! read more

I just bought a new car and the place I've been taking my car to for years has gone out of business. For more than a decade I have been going to the same place so I was in a bind trying to find a new place that I could trust. I read review after review and decided on Mr. Tint for the good reviews and reputation. I was not disappointed. I arrived without any appointment but they took me right away. I decided on the "Pinnacle" tint. They told me it would take just over 2 hours and the car was ready right on time. The tint was perfect and my car looks incredible! I highly recommend them to anyone. So, some comments for the people who own this business. I came around noon and there was only one person there. When I came in, he came from the back room where he was clearly having lunch and gave me a look that he was somewhat annoyed that I had interrupted his lunch. I'm sorry for coming during lunch, but that was the only time I could come. Maybe they should have more than one person so one can have lunch and not be bothered. Your service is good, but I don't need to go to a place and have someone make me feel like I'm bothering them. I was trying to get some advice on which type of tint to pick and the person working with gave me absolutely no help. Again, he seemed annoyed that he had been bothered during his lunch and he just wanted to get me out of there as quickly as possible. Again, I understand wanting to have a lunch break, but it's not my fault there is only one person there and there is no sign saying they are closed during lunch. Again, drop the attitude or get someone else to cover during lunchtime. Lastly, there was a coupon for $50 off the "Pinnacle". When I chose the Pinnacle, the discount wasn't offered to me; I had to ask for it. Whenever I've been to a store that offers a discount, they automatically tell me without having to ask. If you have a discount, I recommend that you mention it when a customer buys that product. Maybe they don't even know about it and it would go a long way to build your reputation. Again, my car looks great, they did a great job, took me in right away and finished in an extremely reasonable amount of time. I would go back because of the great job and reasonable price. The dealership I purchased the car offered to tint at a slightly higher price but then again, they offer a loaner car. But with their very impersonal service I might consider another place the next time I need my car tinted. Overall, good experience and good product and I recommend them to anyone. read more

I had my new Audi A4 tinted here at the strong recommendation of a good friend. I was very very happy with the service and quality of work/materials. I went with Pinnacle Ceramic Tint and the quality is fantastic. Sonny is an expert in the field and is a breeze to work with. They were pretty busy (as expected when Spring months start getting warm - it was 90 degrees the day of install) but they accommodate several cars at once in their tinting bay which is how they work so efficiently. EXCELLENT customer service! I took new car in to get the windows tinted in April. Price was competitive, product was superior. When I got to the store there were no surprises, price quoted over the phone was the same as when I got there. They did an excellent job and my car was ready when promised. After a few weeks I noticed there there were a few very small bubbles on several of the windows. I called, they said to bring the car in. No hassles, no excuses. When I got there they guys asked for my receipt and warranty. I had forgotten to bring it with me. They looked up my information, and got started on my car right away. Things happen all the time, but the way a business handles situations like this say a lot. They didn't argue, or try to make it seem like I was responsible, they just re-did the work! I would recommend them to ANYONE! Great customer service means so much! read more

Called to see if they would be able to take me same day on a Saturday and they were! I was surprised and thought they'd be extremely busy. Went with the Pinnacle tint on my car. Their facility is very clean and well lit. They are very careful with the cars and pay attention to make sure no other customers wander near the cars to prevent risk of damage. They had my car in at 11am and were finished in just over an hour. That is the quickest I've ever seen tint done and they did an amazing job. read more

Very pleased with Mr Tint. The customer service is excellent and I like that they are F1 certified. I went with F1 Stratos on our vehicle. It has a nice color and also rejects alot of heat. We just had it installed so Ill edit my review if there are any issues after curing. One star was taken off due to the fact that my windows on the outside were hazy. I guess they didnt clean the outer portion of my windows and it created some glare. I cleaned it off when i got home and it looks great! read more

I came in the morning and the guy went over all my options. I ask a lot of questions and he was super patient with me. I was quoted that the car would take 1 hour, so I sat in the lobby working on my computer (they have wifi)... and viola in 20 min the car was done. Such an awesome experience. I recently bought a car at Discount Auto Gallery and the tint job on my 2012 black beauty was less than perfect. I figured I would just live with it (I mean really, who needs to actually see out the back window), but JJ (with the Auto Gallery) recommended Mr. Tint, and offered to make an appointment for me. I decided to come in a few days later and get my tint redone, and I couldn't be happier. All the windows are now the same color, not peeling, and I can actually see out of them! They even stayed 30 minutes past closing time to finish my car- that's pretty amazing; if I was working there, I would definitely be tempted to tell the customer to just pick up the next day. To be completely honest, I've never tinted the windows of a car before, so I'm not sure how their prices compare, but I felt pretty happy with the amount I paid. Especially since they took the old, crappy tint off and discarded it for me too. Will definitely be using them for any future tinting needs. read more

My review is in part about the service I did not receive at Mr Tint... although I had made an appt 10 days earlier, I got there at 11am as instructed, they would keep my car for 3 hours.... once there I was told that they would need to keep it until 6 or 7 pm (way past closing time) in order to get the job done. They apparently were too busy, overbooked and could not do what they had promised to do 10 days earlier. I couldn't get another appt until June... WOW.. Although dissapointing I couldn't leave my car there for 7 hours.. so now I await my June appt with wonder as to what the chances are that they will service my car then.? BTW, maybe the reason they couldn't service me was because my appt was for a RE-DO for the shoddy work they had done and supposedly "lifetime guaranteed". Great guarantee if you can ever get back in to the shop for them to honor it. read more

Initial review 5 stars. I went in for my 2 windows on my 350Z. I had purchased my 350Z used. The rear and back windows were already tinted by previous owner. The installer was very courteous and explained the difference of each tint. He matched the dark tint of the small rear side windows and hatch. The install took less than an hour. The installer explained that the bubble-like spots will dissipate in 2 days and not to open the window for 2 days. The price was very reasonable. In 2 days the windows looked smooth. My wife noticed the difference. I was very happy with the service and result. Thank you for your time. Update review 1 star. I went back in October 2011 for a retint. The tint was scratched from debris. The owner operator had hired more people since my last visit. I had to go back 4 times. I found scratches and dents in the tint after 4days. Small imperfections are usually gone after curing for 2days. I kept the windows closed for 2days as instructed. On the 4th visit, the owner stated that he had 4 different people work on my vehicle. He stated that he will ensure that it will be done right. It should have been right the first time. I cannot recommend them at this time. I am sorry if my initial review mislead anyone. I had an appointment set for a Friday in which they told me that it would take 3-4 hours because I bought a GroupOn and that those paying full price would come first. I said whatever and decided to go in anyway, without thinking of their other location. Come friday, I called in to make sure that I had an appointment set for 9 since I live an hour away (55 miles) so I didn't want to go and be trapped. Turns out, the guy making the appointments made a mistake and didn't schedule me at all! It doesn't take learning rocket science for common sense. I asked them why it would take 3-4 hours and the manager said they were overbooked and always busy, reassuring me that their services were quality work and that's why it had to take so long. Also, they would have to frame my car. Right? Why don't they book 1 person at a time, and finish it in an hour like the Vista location did for me? There was 1 person working, taking calls, scheduling, and whatever the else the Escondido place was doing. But this guy was SMART. He booked 1 person, 1 hour estimate, and gets his work DONE and it's QUALITY work. I rated it 1 star because of the terrible service I had just over the phone. I don't even want to know what it would be like in person. Some people are saying it took their car 7 hours to get it tinted. Go to the Vista location. Schedule in advance for a tint. It'll be an hour and 30 minutes MAX from the time he gets on your car. read more

Excellent service and very fair prices! I called them on a Friday mid afternoon, and they were able to fit in *two* cars the next morning despite having a full schedule for the day. They did a really great job. Even on tricky details like the dot matrix on the back window of my Civic Si, they had no issues dealing with it and didn't just cover it up with paint or solid vinyl like a lot of less experienced shops. I highly recommend Mr. Tint - especially if you're trying to find F1 Pinnacle film (which I was), they are the only licensed shop I could find in San Diego. Hi All,this is a much belated review of my bad experience at this operation. Remember the day while visiting/asking for a quote to tint my C63, I saw a Ferrari in the shop ...hmm...ok...they "should" be good in what they are doing then....I assumed...wrong. Results: i) All Pros doing tints know better that, either you tint over the dot matrix at the back, or, you leave a margin and not touch them - mine was tinted over but spotty and had to "push" the air bubbles out myself over period of 2wks; no, the shop did not even tell/offer me to go back wks later for this purpose. ii) After the tint was done, upon close inspection, there were traces of lints/dirt between the tint and windows; I should have known better since they did NOT even keep their shop clean and yet they are located in a high traffic area. I know of other good tint shops that do so and even hose down the floor everyday in the morning just for this reason. Last but not the least, I suspect they were using old blades (or may be just rushing to get it done) as there are fine lines cutted INTO the glass of my windows!!! iii)So I wanted an OEM look on my C63, thus I asked if they could do Pinnacle 40% as I never like the look of 35% and potential issue with CHP. Guess what? They told me there is NO 40% in the Pinnacle series! Go to http://www.formulaone.com/pdf/FormulaOneSpecSheet.pdf and you will see it listed. In the end, not wanting to drive to OC just for a tint job, I settled for 50%, which luckily turned out just ok, but till today, I still wish it is a tab darker. They could have told me honestly that, 40% is available but do not carry it due to low demand locally; why lie to your customer? Conclusion: I am a small business owner myself, and in this stage of economy today, I believe in supporting fellow operations like ours. BUT I am very disappointed with the fact that this location, being the ONLY authorized Formulaone Tint installer here in SD-CA, have done such a lousy job! Or, may be this is exactly the reason why? For my new Cayman S, this time, I am going to OC which not only has Pinnacle 40% tint, but also quoted me a fair price backed by 5-stars reviews. If you are willing to go with Huper Optik Tint, there are two shops here in SD that install them with good reviews. OK, enough said. All you car lovers out there: Drive Smart and Drive Safe. read more

This is a tint shop yes. You offer services of installing tint but will not sell the window film itself. When I asked to buy window film alone I was told that it would cost me upward of $100 for the film alone when I asked for enough to put on my car. I wanted to learn how to apply this myself since I am a do it your-self type. Now I know that window film when bought in bulk is pretty affordable by the foot, averaging about $1.50-3.00 per foot of 36inch wide film. How would a 5 window car cost upwards of $100? I really don't appreciate being lied to. Afterwards they said they wouldn't even sell to me because it cuts into their business and LLumar wouldn't allow it. Again another lie. I can understand these guys are in the business of installing tint, but think if the layman who wants to try it on his own can't even access the materials from a reputable place for some quality film then is lied to and refused simple business. I say go to a place that can be a bit more honest with pricing of costs and understanding if the layman can't do it as good as these guys he can come back and have them fix it. read more

I just had my Passat tinted and she looks beautiful! I chose the Comfort 38% on the front and 15% on the back. Nate was very helpful and the guys in the back did an excellent job! Nate explained they weren't very busy because of the rain so they could get me in right away. The job took them only 1 1/2 hours to complete. Kudos to Nate and the crew! My Passat looks beautiful! My 6th car and second review of Mr Tint. I bought a used Jeep Wrangler with clear windows. I had it only a week and it was just too uncomfortable to drive in with the heat. I was recently given the task of taking my dad's car here to get the back and side windows tinted. The technician took the time and showed me all the different colors, and degree of darkness I had available to me.
